Not my favorite but also not the worst place to eat Dominican food. The juice was not fresh (most likely from a store bought carton), my chicken tasted as if it had been reheated. I would rather go to a little hole in the wall further uptown or in the Bronx.

Second time there! The first time was 9 years ago after midnight from a party. The service was mediocre then with a very rude server. I decided to give them a second try, but this time was in the afternoon with family. I must say the food was great but the service was really exceptional! We were a big group of 13 people and the server was very polite and accommodating. I will definitely come back!

If youre in the mood for something Caribbean, both in food and culture this is the place. A loud, but not too loud, exciting atmosphere smiling faces, and plenty of flavor in the air. The music isnt so loud that you have to shout over people but it is definitely apparent.The food is priced well, cooked with expertise. Reminds me of some of my grandmothers cooking, and takes that as a high compliment in full esteem. The drinks were also great, maybe too good.Bring your family, listen to the music, sip your drink, and eat. A good time.

This is a cool place and the food is excellent. But the atmosphere is ruined by music that is simply too loud. If your happy to not have a conversation with the people youre eating with then this might be the place for you. It was a shame, because the food is good, the staff is awesome and the drinks are good. It was like having dinner in a night club.

This was a great budget friendly restaurant!If you want to experience the culture, its the perfect spot for it. Walking around in the heights can build up an appetite, conveniently located right off the street of bustling vendors, you cant miss it! Food was awesome and plentiful, plantains are very filling and the portions are huge! Service is a little M.I.A but, the price makes up for it. Yes, your server speaks spanish and english!!If Hookah and lurking older men at the bar makes you nervous...leave by 7pm.Overall, I had a great meal..not too many vegan options so beware,stick to the sides part of the menu.

The food was phenomenal! The beans were made so well. The mofongo is seasoned well, soft texture, and the chibo was tender! Chicharron de pollo had so much flavor and was super juicy. The service was great. Wish they would get a heater downstairs where the bathrooms are. Also wish the bathrooms werent all the way downstairs. Will be coming back anyway.

I love this place. They never fail. Sometimes the servers mood isn’t the best but it’s not the worst and the drinks are phenomenal. ALWAYS!

I have always visited this spot today I had a horrible experience ,when there’s no staff available they make someone available for you to smoke some hooka I came in at 1:30 asked if there was someone to make it the employees 3 of them told me yes in 20 minutes , an hour later the “manager” Christian came in saying no hooka till 3 he asked me to leave n come back when I came back he said at 4 I said why he said because I’m the manager and this is my dads spot … so rude and unprofessional he also told me there’s more other spots for u to go & he stated plenty of time y making a big deal over a hooka it’s not the hooka it’s me waiting 3 hours leaving n coming back to have a horrible response as “because I said so” 🙏🏾I been coming here since 2011 and I never experienced such thing , I’m really hoping this “manager” son of the owner get some manors this is not how u treat customers . But I’ll continue to visit hopefully this doesn’t happen to no one else

Food was great, Good Vibe... Went here really late in the evening so everything was off a more expensive menu.. wish they had a better salad selection. However other food was delicious..If you like Hookah, they have that too on the bar side of the restaurant. I do not smoke so Hookah is not for me. However, ppl seems to really like that.Did I mention Music, so you can totally dance here, there is not an actual dance floor however ppl made the best of it..

Great atmosphere. Great service. Moderate wait times but worth it. I had the chicharon mofongo it was excellent. My husband had the seafood spaghetti in white sauce and it was delicious. It had crab, lobster, calamari, octopus, and shrimp. The pina colada was great to me because they didnt pour alot of alchohol in it. I definitely recommend it. The plus side is that they have a bar lounge as well so if u want to end the night with drinks and good music its a perfect place to go.

Loved the food ! It was very delicious and completely worth the price. Service was good as well. They were friendly, helpful, and brought the food out rather quickly. The bathroom was also quite clean and the bar is serves pretty cheap compared to other places. The place itself was beautiful and fun filled with its Dominican vibes.

I recently visited this restaurant and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with bold flavors and fresh ingredients that truly captured the essence of Dominican cuisine. Every dish was flavorful, and the portions were good. I went during a not so busy time and the waitress was very nice. They have a lot of options and I explained that it was my first time here and if she could recommend anything that wasn’t too heavy as I wasn’t starving but definitely wanted to try. She suggested a small mofongo de camarón and it was amazing. She was very sweet and checked on me after my plate arrived para decirme buen provecho. She was very sweet and the service was fairly quick.

I split the Dominican Paella with a friend tonight. Very hearty, yet not too heavy. Ive been here before for the mofongo, and thats worth the trip.The food took a bit longer, but I didnt mind considering the overall fine quality of what I ate.

The only reason I gave them a five was for the food. Absolutely delicious. The service sucked! On the other hand, They know how to really make Mofongo. We did not wait a really long time for our food, but our waitress took a while to bring us the menu and after she served us our food she disappeared. We had to hunt her down for water and even then she forgot to bring us some water. I would understand if they were busy, but we were there before the lunch hour rush. Word of advice if your going for lunch make sure to specify a lunch portion. Otherwise, they will give you a dinner portion which is so big two can actually eat out of one plate.

Lets start with its cool that they have tablets for menus, I went Monday night with my girlfriend, business wasnt really busy but still the server took long to help us, I ordered skirt stake Mofongo (mofongo de churrasco) I ordered medium rare, the skirt stake was good, it was very juicy, the mofongo not so much was dry and the meat inside too hard, I also ordered some rice and beans, which it was pretty tasty but inside I found a piece of broken plate inside the beans I think one of the plates chipped and the kitchen didnt realized it. They replaced the rice and beans but the meal was ruined I had a little cut in my mouth, unsure if it was due to the broken plate. My girlfriend ordered the mini picadera mix, the tostones were good but the longaniza was way to overcooked, they were hard and burnt, same with the other meats that it came, before we could finish eating the busboy was literally in front of us waiting to pick up the plate, even went so far as extending his arm and grab the plate so we can finish faster. Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, imagine if I didnt felt the piece of plate in my mouth I could of damage something internally and the fact the busboy hurries you up to finish faster. Just a bad service in general

Great Spanish bar and restaurant in NYC. Nice vibe, good relaxing music. The drinks are good, nice and cold beers. Havent had any of the food cause I just ate but the smell of their food is good, I mean like WOW GOOD! Cant leave out the super sexy bartender, very polite, funny and helpful. I highly recommend this place to come have a drink and chill.

Maybe it was just a bad day, but the salad I requested with the grilled chicken was soggy, the lettuce had the orange color when lettuce is spoiled. The chicken was well cooked, however it had an overwhelming taste of gas from the grill. The environment was pleasant, clean establishment. Will visit again but definitely try another dish.

The music was waaaaaaayy too loud. Come on. It was insane. The food was ok nothing special. It was a little overpriced if you ask me especially for Dominican rice and beans . They had alot items missing from the menu, and when you asked why, the waiters just had a dumb look on their faces and no explanation. Its not difficult to answer a question about a menu item. Probably wont be coming back

Their mofongos don’t have enough onion and the chicharrón inside is not crunchy, you can even feel it… Is expensive for what they offer.

Dominican restaurant in the middle of Washington Heights. My favorite dish is white rice, red beans and grilled chicken. Their churrasco it’s also really good. Depending on how busy the restaurant is, the service can be a bit slow. This is my go to restaurant when I’m in the heights.

The Workers are very attentive and professional. The food is Great. We Were greeted and serviced by Ms Bemerly who was amazing. Another Lady named Johanny was very nice to us as well.

Being Puerto Rican, mofongo is one of our staple plates. Dominicans adopted and I was told improved. I went to this place in the heart of the Dominican community to see or I should say taste by myself and boy, it really give us a run for our money. One of the best I tried even in PR.Their mofongo de mariscos is not relleno like in PR, but more like on top of it, but is plenty of Mariscos featuring some we dont even use in ours like mejillones mussels, and pieces of cangrejo crab.My veredict is: why you dont try both versions and make your decision. At the end of the day, you will be the only winner. If youre around atop by, you wont be disappointed.

I can call a Chinese restaurant and not have to know how to speak Chinese and can still order food , they answer all my questions etc same for Jamaican restaurant, Indian restaurant! How is it I call this restaurant the women ask me if I speak Spanish I told her no , she tells me well she don’t speak English I requested to speak with someone who does and it’s no one !!!! So I guess this restaurant is only for Hispanics and you must be able to speak Spanish to order !!!!! You should put this information on your site so we won’t waste time calling !!!! Ridiculous!!!!! I want to start off by saying one of the most flavorful foods I’ve eaten in a while. I came here a few times and the food hit every time. The staff were super welcoming and friendly. The prices are reasonable. Will definitely be added to my collection of favorite cuisines.

Our server was super cool. We ordered Sangria and didnt like it too much and she up and returned the whole bottle free of charge. The food didnt last too long and it tasted awesome just have a look a some of my pictures...Negatives are the bathroom is too far. The hookah area is too small and the bar shuts the music completely after 4am. I would be nice to at least keep listening to the music instead of the people noise. Also a fight broke out and security didnt take people fighting out side immediately!!!

We were seated promptly, no wait time, came there around 5-6 pm on labor day with family. Music was bumping, people dancing, nice vibe 👌. I ordered the mofongo with eggs which was approx $22 . I ordered beef but this day they had none. Very simple, a cup of mofongo with two sunny sided eggs and a small side of plain salad. It tasted regular. This place is overpriced in my opinion. Food was just mid. No type of sauce or anything over the mofongo. Not too many options on menu.

My Fiancé is half Dominican and he swears by this place as the best Dominican food in New York. We go whenever we find ourselves in Washington Heights. Best to go with someone who knows their way around the menu and speaks Spanish. The staff is nice, but many are not proficient English speakers. Don’t expect traditional American style service as you’re in the heart of the City’s Dominican neighborhood.The food is hearty with rice, beans and plantains for sides. As typical with Dominican fare, the meats can be overcooked and dry, but also crispy, salty and satisfying.

Very disappointed with the food. I had Mofongo con Chicharon de Cerdo. First, it was cold. I sent it back. Server was nice. He returned and said it cannot be reheated. So, he brought me a fresh one. It was nothing to write home about. Mofongo was so so & Chichcaron not seasoned. My sister in law had Chicharon with rice & white beans. It was also cold and unseasoned.

Worst place ever. Let’s start with the fact that I’m a server. Our waitress ignored us the entire night. We still over ordered because we wanted to drink and celebrate. Regardless our bill still ended up at almost 700 with an included gratuity that the manager told me was an obligation. And literally forced on us. Again I’m a server. I would have tipped regardless of my service. She disappeared to have an outfit change and we couldn’t find her for at least 30 mins. Btw complete misogynist told me he had to speak to a man because I was a women.

The food was very delicious. A very welcoming atmosphere. The customer service wasnt the best. When we arrived, we sit and we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to go to our table, but what really upsets us was that that happen with one waitress looking at us the entire 15 minutes without moving to even ask if we want something to drink, it wasnt until another waitress saw that we where waiting for more than 15 minutes, she spoke with the other waitress that was staring at us the whole time, than she came and ask if we want it to order something. I was looking at the other waitress the whole time and she didnt even approach us to ask for a drink, I believe that is a poorly customer service and that waitress should be trained in how to provide a customer service of excellence, specially when you are standing in a corner doing nothing. Besides that bad experience, the waitress that worked with us, she was great, very polite and we had a good rest of the night. I recommend you guys the restaurant.

Ive come here with my wife a few times. Once to dine twice to take out and the service is quick timely professional and above all else the food is delicious. I love me a simple pollo rostizado con arroz (arroz con gandules and arroz moro). The chicken when they cook it add either oil or gravy and leave it very juicy (unsure) and delicious and honestly never had it like that before. My wife enjoys the food so Im comfortable giving this a solid 5. Also the flan they sell there also delicious!

A bit run down due to lack of care for the restaurant area, evening gathering with hookah and no concern for others, food was okay. Had the chicken stew mofongo, and it was DELICIOUS!

Music is too loud. Ordered salmon, didn’t taste good. Asked waiter politely to change it for something else. Which he did. But had the audacity to tell me they tasted the food I returned and claimed there was nothing wrong with my fish... speechless, this was beyond me.

Worse Mofongo I ever had. I drove all the way from NJ and it was my first and last time coming to this place to buy anything. Not only they’re pricey but they gave me a plate with fried pork belly that was only fat and no meat. The smashed plantains were too dry and flavorless. 🤮

Me and my friends were at this location eating and while I was only half way done with my food, I was using the phone at my TABLE and the waitress was rushing to get other customers in threw away my half plate of food with out asking me if I was done!!! and said she thought I was finished . Then when I brought it to her attention she offered to get me Andy thing I wanted which I denied! The bill was around $380 paid it and left never going back!! And wouldn’t suggest this place to nobody .

This is my go to spot to go eat with my father. All the mofongos are so good and its a good, lively atmosphere. My dad always enjoys himself a cold beer. The only thing I wish they turned the music down some its way too loud which makes it hard to converse at times.

OMG...Everything was Deliciouso and the service was wonderful. We ate like there was no tomorrow and had food to take home. The cafe con leche and dolce de leche were magnificently. I used to eat here years ago and was in NYC for the day and had a craving. So glad we ventured to the Bronx for the goodies they provide. The skirt steak Is to die for.

I didnt like it. The mix appetizer was burn meat, over fried, and the plantains were counted, nothing like the menu picture. I wont come again. Like thank you but no thank you.

Oxtail Mofongo was particularly great.

Food was delicious, however, I did not like the fact that they include the tip and are not up front with the additional tip. Then you are not provided with receipt so you can’t find out.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The area is fun with lots of stuff being sold on the sidewalk. We got bread which was delicious. It was warm and buttery. We had an avocado salad as an appetizer. I had the half charcoal chicken which was juicy and delicious. Of course we had rice and bean. My friend had the monfongo which was very good. To end it we had the tres leche cake which was delicious.

This place was so dope. My friends & I loved it when we visited this Summer. The service was quite good from the hostess to our lovely server but the Mofongo was the best part. I got the beef steak one & my mouth waters just remembering it. Unfortunately they didnt have the deserts we wanted but we were so full anyways. Cant wait to go back.

When I first arrived there I noticed the table broken. The waiter was not attentive. The mofongo was dry, the chinola juice was too sweet. And OMG the bathroom was dirty and stinky.. the only thing that was good was the steak and wings. I will never go back there again. Very disappointed 😞

We decided ,since finding a parking spot close by this venue is rarer than finding a pin in a haystack, to order while in the way and pick up to go. Over the phone, the staff attending the call sounded half asleep and to the order without any care or interest. This showed when we went pick up the order (I will go in to that later).Walking in, there is no way of knowing where to go to retrieve an order placed over the phone. Finally locating the pick up area, I go over and tell them the name under which the order was placed. The first girl seemed literally with mental issues since she was slow to respond, looked for my ticket 3 times in the same place, and at the end I had to point out to her it was right in front of her face. She then called over a second girl to help locate the order even though we had given ample time (they told us 10 minutes the order would be ready, we arrived 15 minutes after ordering). It literally took 2 girls about 25 minutes to locate the order receipt and the order.Now the order placed was for beef mofongo fried not stewed. However as mentioned before, there was a total lack of care or interest for the order as the gave stewed bet rather than fried, even though had specifically specified fried beef, not stewed 3 times, since we were asked the same question 3 times.If it wasnt for the food being edible with good flavor, this review would definitely be 1 star or less.

Good service and great food. The atmosphere is always lovely and full of local residents. The mofongo are, of course, the specialty here and theyre delicious, but its never bad to venture off and try some of the daily specials as theyre equally tasty and more reasonably priced.

No surprises here. Inexpensive place for reliable dominican food. On weekends a party vibe develops. Chicken is delicious but depending on the time of day the white meat can be dry.Prices are great for lunch.

I only wish there was more than one person that spoke English... I go through 2 or 3 servers to get my to go order. The other day a server didnt even bother, I was directed to someone else. However I love their fish, and one server is wonderful I will I got her name. Next time.

If I could give no stars, I would. On a Sunday night, the sat us at table in the front, music speaker directly above us, front door wide open, so the cold air was hitting us. I was with my wife and her mother, they asked for a beer and a drink, all I asked was for water. When they received their drinks, again I asked for water. The apetizers came to the table and again, I asked for water. Another 10 minutes went by and I had to ask another person for a cup of water, that is when I finally got water. Food was passable, but do not call the rice with chicken dominican style, had way too much cilantro in it. Longoniza was my wife got with her mofongo was tasteless. They put a small container with liquid with her meal, I assumed it was to put on top of the mofongo, but that also was tasteless. When we got the bill, there was a 10% gratuity already in the check. No wonder the service they give is below par, they get ripped no matter how bad it is.Save your money and go to another restaurant.

I came here on a first date on Wednesday and it didnt disappoint! The salad and chicken dishes we both had were delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Will definitely be back!

Loved it . We had came down from Rhode Island to visit our home town and family 💕💕. The food was excellent the ambience was excellent just love being around music and friends and family Latino culture. The food was amazing they have a variety for all that are looking for something different something new something tasty. The desserts 💜 yum I had flan . Looking forward to my next visit or celebrate my birthday 🎉🎉🎉. I had the bento box 🍱 . 😱 It was delicious. Japanese dish .

On 11/07/22, I ordered one large mondongo, $14.00 and one small mondongo for $8.75. La Casa del Mofongo charged me $26.00. When I asked, I was told that $2.00 was for the tax of the large mondongo and the rest, ($1.25) the employee told me she did not know and that the lady who served my order had left for the day. That is a shame and it is illegal.

Unlike a lot of other spots in the neighborhood you can actually get service at the bar in under 20 min even if you speak English. And the beer is super cheap. But the food from the menu is pretty expensive. Go with the food at the grill and you cant go wrong.

One of the best mofongo in town, and great music. Couldnt find parking anywhere near by but it was worth the wait. Service was okay. Loved the ambient of the Dominican culture. Very good place to get a hint of variety of Caribbean culinary. Overall it was great, aside from getting parking. Defenitely will be back soon.

Ok. So I just finished eating here this evening with My female co-workers. We had a blast btw. The embiance is very inviting, family frienly and the food is good. Now a couple of my coworkers ordered sushi because it was recommended to us. If you are a true fan of sushi, I dont recommend this place. The sushi rolls served are made with a Spanish style fusion, which I feel missed the mark for me, as a true sushi carnosaur. But not all the rolls we ordered were that bad. However, the reason for my two star review is for customer service. If you have an issue with your order, expect to wait 20-30 minutes for the manager to show up. I eventually saw the manager walking about and I had to flag him down myself. We requested to our waiter and other waiters to send the manager over to us. All the waiters just ignored our request. We quickly found out that our waiter had never actually called him over to our table. Our waiter spoke very little English. So there were translation issues happening between him and me. I orded take out. My waiter got my take out order all wrong and said I said ordered my main dish to go along with my take out order. My friend next to me confirmed that I indeed didnt order what he placed on our recipre. Well to end this long review. Ill close by saying. The manager eventually came over to us and apologized for the inconveniences and gave us his word for our next meal on the house. Heh! Not sure how true that will be.

Good Spanish food. However, prices are a bit high compared to other restaurants with similar food items. $25 for a ceasar salad is too expensive. Other places have same items for 50-60% less.

I ordered takeout from the front. A side of rice and beans with my chicken mofongo. Takeout was not even busy and the lady ends up giving me mofongo and beans with no rice. To top it off I was too far from the place to go back. Highly disappointed. Their servers need to pay more attention to what they are doing specially if they ask for the payment receipt which shows the order.

This place is good!!!! Reminded me of Puerto Rico for sure! Tons of food, reasonable price, fairly loud and fun. Ya have to get the mofongo!!!! Don’t miss out. The grilled chicken is a very good option as well.

I’ve come multiple times and they have great Dominican food. I give four stars because service truly depends on how busy they are, when slow it’s great but when busy they slack and you have to be on top of them. I would still recommend you try them just be aware. Enjoy! Good place, they have a wide variety of Mofongos and the place is a good spot if youre into hookah.The drinks are delicious.The place is always busy but the waiting time is not longer than 10-15 minutes depending of your party.Expect a lot of Dominicans, singing bachata, dancing and laughing out loud, the vibe is great to unwind and have a good time with delicious food.

Visited yesterday with my family and it was our first and last time! Food took over 45 minutes, our server Stephanie forgot one of our orders, waited another 30 minutes for our forgotten order. Bathrooms didnt have toilet paper or soap. Like I said before our first and last time! We are never going back again!

The service was a bit slow, but the mofongo (I had the octopus) was the best Ive had across at least five different restaurants. I will probably visit again just for that.

Good place to be on a Friday night if youre looking for music and dancing. Service is sometimes not the best, but their drinks are made well.Depending on the night, it could be a bit cramped in there.

This is one of my favorite places to visit, but this time it wasnt so amazing, we went there for lunch and the pace wasnt crowded wich is fine for me, but I started to look around the restaurant and is getting a bit rundown, dont get me wrong the food is pretty good a little under sazon, but bnb it was fresh. Going back to the restaurant, the bathroom was nice and clean but the doors need some painting the restaurant chairs need some upgrade the ac vents some cleaning. I will be back to eat but the place needs some love.

This place use to be good before the pandemic but afterwards the food doesn’t taste the same. I use to order mangu all the time and when I ordered it recently it wasn’t great.

The food was great! I guess they knew I spoke Spanish. The waitress was welcoming as hell and treated me great (she was hella cute too) (also if any of yall workers peep this she was a tall brown skinned woman with black straight hair, we were the ones who couldnt give her the right word for straw, and kept calling it popote (its cause Im a Californian and afro-mexican). When yall see this tell her I said hi. I loved it there and it was the best experience I had in New York. I went on Karaoke night which was This past monday. Man mostly everyone could sing. I heard a couple Selena songs and they were great. I love this place and will definitely make it there when I come back.

Great mofongo. Super fast service and prices are great. Open late also. Would give it 5 stars but music is too loud for me. Just know there will be a sorta club environment going on. As long as you are ok with it then this is a great spot.

The food was amazing, from the appetizers, to the entrees. The drinks were really good too. We had a private room upstairs for our party so we were able to talk, eat and enjoy everyones company. The only slight barrier was that not many of the staff knew english and everything had to be translated by our spanish speaking friends. I would definitely recommend this place if you were in the area.

Dope atmosphere. You immediately wanna dance upon entering. Waiting in line to be seated on a Saturday was expected. The service was HORRIBLE. Waitress was running around and swiftly took the drink menu from me and my guests table without saying a word to let someone else see it; is there only 1 drink menu for the whole restaurant?To order an avocado I had to get a salad which I agreed to but she didnt even add it to my order so it was never sent.Then I ordered la popola loca [a drink on their menu] and it didnt taste anything like the one my guest ordered. I felt as if they gave me the wrong drink. My guest had a sliced orange on the glass and I asked the waitress to give me a pineapple. Youd figure after forgetting part of my order she would at least help me out, she shut me down saying theres nothing she could do about it; that I cant modify the drinks meanwhile, when served, the drink came with a lemon and cherry inside...not the orange slice.This particular waitress, or idk if its a restaurant policy, seems to sacrifice quality for more business by rotating customers in and out. I shouldve gave it 1 star but the piña colada + popola loca I had got me buzzed plus the music was good. I dont suggest coming here to eat on the weekend.

Food was not that good. I was speaking to my friend when the waitress brought the check. Instead of using her words and say excuse me, she proceeded to interrupt our conversation by placing the check up high to our faces. Also, they didnt greet us upon arriving. They need more training.....

Food is nasty service is BAD! They discriminate against young adults. They didn’t service us bread until we ask. Took over 10 mins to tell us they didn’t have a drink and then the food came cold. Chicken taste like it was fried with old oil. Just bad

This place is BOMB!!! Super authentic Dominican style mofongo! The plates are big and it’s family friendly. Definitely going back to this place! 😋

In and out pretty fast

Best Spanish food, everytime we come up from Massachusetts we stop by to have food here and its amazing. It worth waiting for seen it is such a popular restaurant they do get busy. We go all out, and get everything and anything we want seen we only go here twice a year.

Tried it for the first time last night 08/21/19 and I loved it. The flavor of the food was definitely there and the server was very polite, professional, and memorized our order. I had Mofongo con pollo frito and rice and beans, with a Morir Soñando.

Food was very good but I sat with my family while there were some ppl smoking hookah right next to my kids. I mean seriously. I asked to moved because of it but restaurant was packed so I guess if your going dont bring kids.

This place was delicious. Visited Puerto Rico a few years ago and was absolutely disappointed by their Mofongo. This place on the other hand did it justice and my heart is now content. Will definitely come back if I come back to NY. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was great.

Was given French salad dressing for Mofongo instead the typical sauce/gravy which comes to moist this dish. After made my request for typical sauce/gravy it was provided. If the restaurant is called by this dish everyone shld be able to sever it how the dish is most commonly known which is not with French dressing as its sauce/gravy. Other than this place was typical Spanish restaurant.

My experience in casa Del monfongo is awesome. i love the variety of mofongos that are offered on the menu. they have every type of monfongo you can think of. my favorite is the shrimp monfongo and the pork monfongo. they play great background music and have a bar that serves amazing drinks. the service is pretty good. my waiter came right away and the food did not take a long time to come out. I have been here once and cant wait to try this restaurant again. the only cons to this place is parking but in Manhattan any parking near a restaurant is already tough to find. it gets very packed over the weekends but i love the environment and the place is very big. the dark setting is great for an romantic dinner.

Classic Dominican food at its best. Daily lunch specials very well priced. Lunch+coffee was only 8 bucks tax and all. Only downer was $10min for card. Bring cash

Wait staff is underwhelming. Not attentive at all. First time I went I had a bad experience and this second &last time I will ever go. The orders werent done correctly. Theres so much to add in how bad the place is. I would not recommend it to anyone,!

Service was good the place was big the music 🎶 was excellent I love the crow the food prices were good , we had an excellent time there you can go there to celebrate 🎉 birthday with the family or friends celebrate graduation too it’s a nice option I would definitely recommend this place and definitely would come back there,

Food was pretty good but the churasco portion with the mofongo combo could have been a little more generous. Place around the block gives you like 2 feet of steak for that price.

Dont know why everyone else seemed to have such a different experience than I did. I went to the bar to order take out and it took me a minute to get the servers attention but once I did I ordered and promptly got my food. Didnt notice any sort of discrimination and the service was good, I got my food within 10 minutes.As far as the food itself goes, this is my first time eating Dominican food and it is delicious. I got Monfongo con pollo frito. The chicken is amazing and the monfongo is very good too.

If you are coming here for good service, please do yourself a favor and turn around. The food itself is worth the trip, and has always been worth the trip the several times Ive been here. The waiters and waitresses are all just really bad at their jobs.

The decor is old school homie dominican which is cool. 1st look at menu... Okay thet have options. Cough pricey. I ordererd pernil. Comes with one side only for the price. I picked rice and beans and paid additional for totones. My date picked chicharron with rice n beans. Food came out vert fast. 1st taste was good. After a few more bites quickly felt yeah we must have been hungry because this is boring and overrated. Pernil had a lot of fat. I personally like the skin little crisp. I has to seperate a lot of fat on it. Only some parts were tender. My moms has more flavor. Rice was blah and so were beans. Needed more seasoning a chopped potatoe or onion cilantro something. Tostones were not crisp. There was no salt not even on the table. I asked for mayo ketchup. They have ketchup still no salt. My dates chicharron not crispy.

Love it, love Washington Heights the culture is amazing. The food is great , this little place has almost anything Dominican cuisine has to offer, and great music. It is also open late.

Chicharrones were perfect (although containing too much fat in proportion to meat) but honestly disappointed with the mofongo itself. The texture lacked firmness and the flavor was somewhat missing the characteristic garlic scent to it. Fortunately you can request a garlic “agüita” which will stay in your breath for the next two days but adds a lot of flavor to the dish. A great thing is they have food & beverage HAPPY HOUR specials during weekdays. Great dominican atmosphere: the restaurant is divided between a bar area with loud music and a more family-friendly, traditional “restaurant” environment. As expected, Spanish is widely spoken so no need to know English.

Horrible service I called to place a delivery order the lady was rude and told me to speak to her in Spanish??? Then had a hard time understanding my Spanish and as a result of that told me they don’t deliver to my area when I’m only 4 blocks away from the restaurant. It’s a shame because I enjoy the food the serve is poor and they really should treat the customers better. No longer coming here.

Good food, good prices...Music is WAY TOO LOUD! You cant hear the person next to you...also Way too crowded on Weekends...club like atmosphere, wall to wall people, loud music, slow service, Crowded bar area...if thats your thing- this spot is for you!

So disappointed in this restaurant. I went to get a chicken. I was standing for more than 15 minutes waiting for the woman to take my order. They would just skip me and attempt people who came after me. Chicken overpriced and it wasn’t that good.

It used to be good when it first opened up. I stopped eating there for a few years because the chicken was starting to be dry which was a change.

A good friend of mine highly recommended this place to me so I went with my family. .Boy was I disappointed the mofongo was bone dry for a place that calls itself La Casa del mofongo the mofongo was terrible! then on top of that our waitress was horrible she ignored us to the point we had to ask the bus boys for water ...needless to say I would not recommend this place to anyone unless u like bad service and dry ass mofongo. btw my friend was shocked when I told him this.

The worst service ever plus the food very expensive. $21 for a mofongo stealthy & hard. Other restaurants better than then only charge $10. Lousy place you cant even talk with the music so loud.

Happy hour 3-10 is amazing !! Food is a bit limited during happy hour but drinks are strong and good. They have hookah too. Jennifer was a doll! Took very good care of us.
