My favorite dinner at this area. Great drinks and cocktails, very good service, nice food. A place for any time of the day. For a quick snack or s drink, for lunch or late dinner. The burgers are great as well as the soup and the service is always fast and very welcoming
Located at the Viceroy Hotel, Kingside is a really nice place for a drink and a bite to eat. Its not too large so Id bet there are times when getting a seat is tougher, but I didnt have too much of a problem for happy hour on a Tuesday. The menu is a little on the pricey side but the happy hour deals arent bad, and the cocktails are quite good.
My in-laws were in town, so we took them to Kingside for Restaurant Week. I was a bit skeptical based on the mixed reviews, but we had a near perfect evening. The only reason I give Kingside four instead of five stars is because the service was extremely slow, even though the dining room was nearly empty. The cocktails are heavenly. I had the Troublemaker, which is the perfect, crisp, summer drink. For an appetizer, I had a kale salad with goat cheese and pine nuts. Typically, restaurants stiff you on the portions for Restaurant Week, but this salad was big enough for two! My father-in-law had the shrimp avocado toast, which was also delicious, although I couldve done with less red bell pepper. For the main course, they had some sort of seafood pasta, which was good, but I opted for the chicken based on other Google Local Guides reviews. It did not disappoint. The course that deserves a rave review, however, was the dessert. We had a caramel pudding with a pretzel crunch that was swirled in between, so you tasted salty and sweet with every bite. It is very rich though, so I suggest sharing it with your dining partner.Overall, the food was good, the service was so-so, and I will add that the decor is more decadent than the pictures show! I was expecting a 1950s diner that didnt mesh with the gourmet fare, but it is much more upscale than whats advertised.I will be coming back.
Great spot for street work drinks. We had dinner and the food was excellent. Dessert menu was a bit weak. Staff were really cool and very attentive. Place was a bit chilly, so bring a jersey. There is a pretty huge standing area around the bar, good for large groups.
Very nice atmosphere and service. The house IPA is very decent, and I love their selection of cocktail (the bartender is skilled and the waiter is very knowledgeable about virgin versions of the cocktails). The decor is impressive (black and white, brown leather seats and aged mirrors) could easily look old and dingy but instead feels very cool, hip and cosy. That being said, the food is not great and way overpriced, this is where they lost a star for me.
Disclaimer: I never write internet reviews but I am tired, cranky and now hungry. After a long drive to the city (on little sleep) and checking into our hotel we went down to the restaurant where we had reservations. This glorified, expensive, diner offers a very limited menu. The tables are close together and the interior is very loud. The service was truly awful. Our waiter was snippy from the start and seemed put out when asked what soft drinks were available as they were not listed on the menu. Then he completely forgot said drink. Twenty minutes later when he checked on our drink status, I informed him I never got my drink. He was not even remotely apologetic.I cannot at all comment on the quality of the food, as after waiting over an hour for a cesar salad, I left my group at the table and went back up to my hotel room. In reading the reviews the common thread appears to be unapologetically poor service (and possibly good food but not worth the cost). My experience could not have been worse if someone had paid the staff and told them to make sure their experience truly sucked
I visited your restaurant on April 1, 2019 and I absolutely loved it, loved the setting! However, when I walked in all I could smell was perfume, which I am highly allergic too. The obnoxious smell of the restaurant distracted from the lovely, delicious food. Its difficult to feel like youre in the perfume section of a department store when dining. Not ideal conditions, I hope it changes before my next visit to New York. My dining partner also had to agree with me.
The food is just ok. I ordered lobster scrambled eggs. The egg is ok but the lobster meat is no better than imitation crab meat. The service is terrible. I walked all the way in wondering whether they are closed before I was greeted by someone chatting by the bar. I waited at least 15 minutes for the check and finally got it after catching two different people (neither is my server). I would not recommend this place. There are so many more better options in the neighborhood.
This review is for the LaGuardia Airport location. I was amazed by the level of service offered at this location. On my way to catch a flight, I stopped to get a bite to eat. Very professional and courteous not to mention the food was beyond delicious. I had a chicken parmesan. The manager on duty I believe his name was BRYANT was amazing, I want to complement him and his staff for their professionalism and great service. They definitely have a great team going!
Extremely overpriced and terrible service. We ordered two glasses of wine and two bowls of soup and the bill was $100. The server offered us still or sparkling water and then charged us $10 for sparkling water...this place is seriously overrated and would not recommend to anyone
Came to Kingside for a quick bite and beverage and really enjoyed snacking at the bar. I had a local brew that they had on tap and really enjoyed the tomato gravy they served with with toasted bread! My husband had his favorite cocktail, an Old Fashioned, and said it was excellent as well. The inside has kind of a retro vibe and they highlight all the fresh ingredients used in all their dishes - I would definitely come back for a meal.
The food and service were good. The atmosphere is very welcoming especially for large parties/tables. Id surely dine here again or recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to catch a affordable meal by 59th st
Spacious and airy restaurant, modern but with a vintage touch. The ambience is relaxed at brunch, and not too crowded. Food is good, even though a little bit pricey, but I guess it is on the average for the area.
The Viceroy hotel is in midtown midtown and has a rooftop where you can have a drink and look at the city skyline. Then we went to the restaurant downstairs to eat. The menu is upscale and I had the mushroom risotto which was devine. The staff are friendly and do not rush you - very professional.
One star. Terrible service. Not one server in the restaurant acted like they wanted to serve my table. We literally had to find someone to be our server, which is unforgivable. Keep in mind, the place was not busy at all, maybe there were only three other tables with people. The food is decent, but certainly not worth its price - but the quality of the food doesnt even matter here given how terrible the dining experience was.
Great food, great atmosphere! Good price
We only had drinks here, but they were very good. Staff was friendly but did get our drink order wrong. Nice location and nice atmosphere, would come back. The roof bar here has a very nice terrace!
I’ve never been to the Manhattan location but I wasn’t able to find a way to rank their La Guardia site. I had to send one meal back because an ingredient was clearly off. I ordered a second dish and while the chicken sandwich was ok, it was served with wilted, melting greens. No bueno
Food is good. Service is bad. Went for lunch on the late side and was told only bar menu was available and only at bar by host. Hosts see their job as saying “No.” Bartender heard convo and sat us a a booth where more quiet. We/he ordered GF, so no croutons - Kitchen totally ignored. Picked all of the croutons out. Won’t return.
I got the shaved Kale salad and a glass of rose. The person I was with got the ragu, mussles, and some fries. It was all very delicious, but in my opinion, not necessarily worth the cost.
LGA LOCATION SUPER SLOWI get that its an airport and I get that its NYC. But it took 40+ mins for this place to serve me a $33 plate of 10 sushis. I asked several times for the manager and when he finally came out all he said was sorry some of our sushi chefs didnt show up today. Unacceptable dont even go in this place!
Good service, good complimentary breakfast from viceroy, good decor.
Most amazing place for brunch breakfast and dinner. Everything is manicured from the fruit to the latte. Experience is what this place holds with Class!!! Every visit is a fulfilled desire. The Roof is apart of this location that opens at 4. Penthouse view with a full bar. Drinks are doctored to your needs. Experienced bartending. I feel enamored here. $$$$
Had no expectations going in, just found it by walking by, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the breakfast. The breakfast pizza was amazingly good, and the frittata with greens, blistered hots, and gruyère was excellent as well.
It was a tasty treat! The menu is simple, modern and has good options depending on your taste. Prices were a little high but not outrageous.
Large restaurant and bar. Came to eat lunch with a large group and there was plenty of room. The waiter was extremely nice and pleasant. The food is a bit expensive but it was good. We are bagels and lox and a bacon, egg and cheese muffin. But the best part were the kid’s pancakes. They had three thick pancakes with sorbet on top, caramelized bananas and pralines. They loved them!
Great food. We love the maple, bacon lettuce, roasted tomato and avocado sandwichand and brussels sprouts. Service was polite courteous and professional.
Cocktails were a little pricey: to the tune of $18.But the roof was awesome. Great views of Central Park and a cool NY vibe.
Went there for an after dinner drink. First service was quick. After these were finished, we waited about 20 minutes for the chance to order new ones. Even the Manager passt by with no intention to ask for new drinks.... If they dont want.... Atmosphere is nice anyway.
Very nice place. Drinks were good. Did not try food. Place just needs time to get aligned with wide range of customers coming to NY.
Wow!!!! The ombeance and the customer service they offers is up to good standard, the food, appetizer, the coffee and the dessert is great,The restroom is well equipped and is safe.
Went for cocktails at the bar. Great atmosphere, delicious drinks. Perfect if youre looking for a trip to a bygone era
Stylish place with nice crew. I wasnt so lucky with my food choice, but Ill give another chance.
Breakfast was fine, but with tip over $70 for 2 people. All we had was eggs, bacon and coffee.
Great service and excellent guest service.
Nice 0lace but a little bit hot
I came here for a few drinks and really enjoed the service and the drinks. The bartender was friendly and made good recommendations.
Clean kitchen, well trained staff, excellent decor. Its quite possible youll encounter a celebrity or two.
Excellent brunch, and the place was empty! Not best brunch ever, but absolutely zero complaints
Similar to Landmarc in Columbus Circle, if less packed. Good comfort food spot, or nice for a pre/post Carnegie Hall snack or drink.
Sushi so fresh and delicious! Highly recommend and will be back! Great service!
Its really convenient if youre staying at the hotel. great breakfast and clean atmosphere.
A bit pricey for tequila thats $50 a bottle . A casa Amigos Reposado neat...18 bucks?
Amazing cocktails. Great food and desserts. Love coming here
To add 2 eggs to my order I was charged 10 bucks. Good food, pretentiously overpriced, unique layout.
Good cocktails and wines. Lovely place to grab a drink with co-workers after work.
Overpriced mediocre food, small portions and indifferent service.
Food, Drinks, service is above your expectation. 100% recommend.
Went for lunch and got the burger. Both the sauces that come with it are delicious.
Upscale food with undertone stylings of a diner. Reasonably priced.
Brunch ok. Pancakes awful! Good service.
After arriving in NYC for a girls trip we were hungry! Kingside was close to our hotel so we stopped to give it try. We were seated immediately. Our server was very friendly & helpful keeping our glasses full as we were really thirsty. Food came out quickly, hot & fresh. I ordered a burger that was great! We enjoyed being seated at the window bar. Restaurant was pleasant while watching the hustle & bustle outside. Very good place to eat!
Staff dont know how to mix regular base spirits like Rum!
I love Manhattan!! I visited this nice restaurant on 9/27/19. The atmosphere was comfortable & romantic - lights were dim with candles on the table! My server was very pleasant & patient. Food was very fresh & tasty!
Pancakes, gelato, carmelized bananas were delish!
One of the best Happy Hour establishments on 57th Street. A pleasant team of servers and bartenders, along with a welcoming group of ladies at reception. The drinks are well balanced. The food is amazing. And yes, they have happy hour food options. An enclosed roof top area is also available via a separate entrance.
Nice restaurant... must try the fried artichoke
Used to have great brunch with a menu, now its hotel buffet style. Continental breakfast should not be a public 35$ ordeal. After 5 years, never again.
It was relatively uncrowded on a Friday night, but we found the food to be very good. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant.
Very limited menu. Mostly small appetizer plates--plan to get 3 or more if sharing, even if with only 1 other person. Descriptions are sparse so ask questions because what comes out has more going on. Artichokes were very good, others just okay. I recall maybe 3 or 4 entrees on menu, and 2 or 3 were pasta. Wait staff was humorless. Now, in all fairness, arrived about 10:30 and even asked if still serving, which was responded with of course, no problem. But when seated and ordering, apparently it was.
We stopped by for Dessert and Drinks after an opera at Carnegie Hall! We were taken care of and they were very accommodating! Such a great find and I would recommend this place to anyone! Loved the atmosphere as well!
It’s by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Little to no customer service even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy. After being seated for 15 minutes, no waiters greeted you or asked you if you would like anything to drink. When I put down an order, I waited almost another 20 minutes before the food was served and guess what. The server took the wrong order and couldn’t admit they made a mistake. “Your food will be ready soon”. No water was served. Then 15 minutes later. The food arrived. “Delicious?” Heck no. My friend and I ordered Eggs Benedict. The poached egg was watery, the ham was sounder. The food was tasteless. It didn’t justify the hefty price tag. I prohibit you to try this restaurant! Absolutely not worth it. :(
A little expensive the food os good, delayed bringing food
It was lovely and i really accomplished alot that day at kingside
We ordered Rib-eye Steak for two, which is the most expensive menu of the dinner, and it was a big disappointment. We said medium rare but what they brought was almost well-done. Who would want to eat dry well-done steak while paying 100+$? I am not going back there.
Food is decent. We ate there twice while staying at the hotel and both times the service was terrible and a simple breakfast order took over 45 minutes to get to us. Not impressed.
Really good kale salad, with 5 large shrimp & a fine cabernet. The burger looked great too, & the complimentary bread (must be asked for) was a delicious multigrain sourdough with a good crust. Our waiter was charming & polite, helpful with questions, & knew when to disappear.
This place is very expensive. Beer $9 and sandwich is $17 bucks and no fries and just few leaves as side. There are plenty places around this area, go to Shake Shack, way much cheaper and you wont be disappointed like me.
Great location and atmosphere but then it is just about that. Food was not bad but not good either with attention to detail being put on making the space interesting instead. Up the quality of food and you will have a great restaurant.
Nice, unpretentious midtown spot for a good drink and an interesting menu. Friendly staff, good bartenders and simple, elegant atmosphere make it a great place to visit
Shame on Kingside & shame on LGA for allowing restaurants to charge so much for alcohol. A glass of wine costs double what I pay at non-LGA restaurants. But I am a prisoner to what the terminal has available. All of these restaurants have excruciating alcohol prices.Shame on the bartender for treating me with no respect. He acknowledged me once and after I inquired about wine prices (since the menu has no prices - that was my only option) made a solid attempt to never come back to me.Food is decent - but they need a larger variety of options.
Lots of suits and an $18 martini, but such is midtown.
Overpriced for below average food and service. Save yourself the frustration
The space is quite cool but it always seems understaffed. Getting the check is always an ordeal. Coffee is so so. Best thing on the menu is the hummus...Great vegetables.
The Cesar Salad was awesome. My daughter hates kale raw. She cleaned her plate. The waiter looked at the little piece she leftIt fell on the table.
Nice quiet place. Really sweet servers.
Staff were good considering they had nothing to work with. No Bloody Marys, no change in the cash drawer, Didnt have anything to make a breakfast Burito with. Heard staff talk about being over worked. Just very poorly managed,. We had 2 glases of wine and it cost us almost $90.00 Canadian. (%60.00 America.) Typical Airport pricing . Will not go there again.
Ok food, nice atmosphere. Not as good as I hoped it would be.Fries were good. Didnt care much for the burger relish. Mussels were swimming in cream.
Nice decor. Great location. Staff were miserable as sin, short tempered and moody... to the point where we didnt leave a tip.
The best reason to come here is for the bartender. Krysta is the bomb. Not a better bartender in town. And if you ladies are looking for the catch of the decade, head over to Kingside. This girl is definetly blessed with two hands by the man upstairs. Drinks are delish and food is on point, but this girl is worth the price of admission alone.
Excellent service. Nice atmosphere, and prices are great for the high quality of the food.
Its a good place for get to enjoy with family and friend
Delicious creative menu selections. Hit the jackpot visiting Kingside during National Resturant Month. Great location down from Carneige Hall. Service was great. Hostess not too welcoming. Excited to see they had a spot at LaGuardia Airport. Sure theres also one at JFK.
Laughable. Comically overpriced for bad food. Service was lazy and unapologetic.
Service was on point and the food was good...i enjoyed myself
The food is absolutely amazing. Their eggs Benedict are perfect. The service is way too slow, however.
Kinda pricey . Good food and service
Went to the LaGuardia location. Service was extremely slow and they werent that busy. The breakfast burrito was small, cold and rather tasteless. I expected more for $15.00. Will not return.
Decent midtown spot for after work cocktails - pricey but very good Old Fashioneds.
We always stop for breakfast when at theHilton 57th st club. Service is excellent even at peak times, food is nicely prepared.
Great place for a cocktail meet up after work.
Nice atmosphere but food is disappointing.
Loved their sushi rolls (vegetables and shrimps) and the staff are extremely friendly
Over-priced, mediocre food, micro-scopic portions
Great quiet spot for late night drinks with friends.
Delicious brunch, excellent choices, child friendly, accommodating staff.
Bustling hot spot for after-work drinks in a chic atmosphere. Beautiful decor.
Kale salad was by far the best I have ever had
Good food... A little pricey
The Cold Brew coffee was awesome
Drinks were good but very expensive. You pay a premium for being so close to Carnegie Hall. Staff was attentive and quick with new drinks.
This bar put a hold on my credit card without authorization, which held up my credit card for over four days. I called to have it resolved and the manager said it might take a day or two to figure it out. He would not give his name, and hung up on me. Meanwhile the restaurant is still holding my card up....this is an unacceptable business practice
This is a cool bar, the food and drinks are cool too
Great food. Slow service.
We go to the Landmarc regularly and were expecting more of the same great food and service. What a disappointment. The real problem had to do with the deplorable service, which affected our entrees and our whole experience. As we sat down, another table was loudly complaining about the fact that their waiter had gone MIA and their orders were wrong. Their food came out shortly after, but they left. Then it was our turn to be ignored. It took forever for our server to take our drink orders. We asked three times for water. He managed the coffee but forgot the other two drinks until prompted again. Then he disappeared. Once our food finally did show up, one dish was cold--it was the egg sandwich, which was supposed to have melted pimento cheese and hot sausage. And one of the side dishes didnt come out. Usually, a server will check back in on you once entrees have been served...and if anything, that happens too often. Not this guy. I left the table to find him--to find anyone, honestly. The staff were completely inattentive and largely absent. After finally tracking him down, he didnt apologize or anything. Id thought he would follow me back to my table, pick up the cold food and take it back to the kitchen. Instead, he kept talking to another server. So after a few minutes, I got up and went back over again. After several attempts, I did finally get our forgotten side dish (bacon) and a replacement entree... They clearly microwaved the egg sandwich. The brioche turned hard, and the whole thing reminded me of a sad, vending machine sandwich. Disgusting is too complimentary a word to describe it. For $18, the vending machine version would have been more palatable. The bacon--it was cold and greasy once we finally got it. Like that other table, we just wanted to cut our losses and leave. But of course... We couldnt track down anyone for our bill. We did finally spot someone, but she was dealing with the table behind us, who were also complaining. Avoid this place.
We share the overall sentiment that the service was pretty bad, food was blah, and attitude was uncomfortable.
Great place to meet friends for dinner
Rude staff refused to give me a glass of water (illegal in NYC), then Operations Manager “Steven” came and started threatening me. Amateur hour.
Very pretentious and dont honor reservations. Waited an hour for a 8pm reservation and then left. They kept playing us claiming the table was about to be available.
Breakfast Eggs were perfect!
Great place for drinks after work
Good to be Viceroy breakfast restaurant
Good not worth the price…
Service is terrible! Go to shake shack!
