Very good service. The host and waiter is attentive. Food is so good! A must visit if you’re in the area. You can rarely find authentic and delicious Indian food like this. Def 10/10 recommend and will order bread naan and this shrimp dish again. Also definitely start with some samosas.
We ordered paneer chili and chicken curry. Being an Indian from Mumbai, I had high hopes for the paneer chili, especially after clearly instructing them to make it 15/10 on the spice level. Unfortunately, they served us a sweet version instead, which was a huge letdown. The chicken curry was decent, but overall, the place feels below average to me. I’d give it a pass next time.
Great tasting india food in a cozy atmosphere with terrific service and personal attention. We were tired after a long day of roaming the city and were planning on going to another place around the corner when my son said India Palace had a better rating. Now i know why it does! From the get go, this is one of the few places left that offers papad and chutney while you wait for your food. The coriander chutney was delicious...truly it was. That set the pace for the rest of the meal. You can order a thali here and you are allowed to pick which options you want in it and they make it fresh. They dont give you reheated food. This was truly a great dining experience and the owner has paid attention to the little things that make customers happy. The tables were pre set with extra napkins for all diners. My daughter dropped her knife and the waiter automatically brought another one. The chef and owner came out and said hello. I loved the experience as i am sure anyone who dines here will. The food was delicious and perfectly spiced. All fresh ingredients and made with attention to detail.Thank you India Palace.
I usually dont like to write bad reviews, but this time it wasnt pleasant. Im writing this to correct mistakes.1) Not a pleasant smell of the kitchen and something else to spoil the atmosphere of the hall.2) I ordered a Mango lassi drink and the problem was that the drink was spoiled with a sour fermentation taste, I asked to make me another one and they made me a fresh one.3) I waited for food for about 40 minutes, although I was the only client in the restaurant. The food finally came and it taste was ok, but the bread was brought almost when I had already finished the food.4) The most unpleasant thing is that the sauce holder is so dirty and sticks to your hands and its not very pleasant.Dear restaurant managers, you are preparing FOOD for people, please pay attention to the cleanliness and smells.
This place is a hidden GEM if you want Indian food in Manhattan! The food is amazing and the service is extraordinary. The manager lady is pleasant and the chef cares to know make the best food for you. It has desi Indian aesthetic and feels authentic.
This place is a gem! Had a pleasant dinner with friends and my son. My son is a picky eater and this was his second experience with Indian cuisine. He cleared up everything that was served for him. It was incredible to watch him savor every bite along with everyone else. The chicken tikka masala was cooked perfectly, samosas were fried to perfection, the rice was fluffy and airy. We also had a spinach dish that I can not pronounce as long as a spicy curry shrimp dish that were more flavorful than spicy. You can’t come here without also ordering the garlic naan! I plan on coming back here next time I have extended family in the city!
My friend took me out to lunch for my birthday. Love the Lunch menu of vegetable thali! Its my first time here but it will not be the last. I couldnt finish my meal so I brought it home to share with my husband. My husband is very particular with food and he loved it! Excellent service, excellent food, lovely decor, ambiance and music. The experience transported me to India. Awesome birthday lunch!
Highly recommended Indian restaurant. My friends & I tried Malai Kofta and Paneer Masala with naan. They even made it without onion & garlic for one of my friend. Great service and ambience!!
Cutest homemade Indian cuisine 😍Malai Kofta - creamy sauce with kofta potato balls 😍 to die forVegetable Samosa - super home cooked, it doesn’t even last until the next day! Made fresh everyday!Drinks: Mango lychee lassi !!!!
Incredible restaurant!! I went there with my parents and sister it was our first time trying this place and we didn’t have super high hopes because we didn’t think there would be such a good Indian spot in the upper east. However we were wrong it did not disappoint the food was full of flavor and the waitress/hostess (I think her name is kushi)was the biggest sweetheart ever and even gave us free desert in the end. Will definitely be coming back
We had vegetable samosa, chicken butter, and malai kofta. Highly recommend malai kofta - it is a fresh, creamy and a little bit sweet vegetable curry that the owner herself recommended. I am a huge fan of Indian vegetarian food and have been in India four times - I guarantee that this curry is a must try! The environment and service were very nice for Saturday dinner. Will come back!
The chicken korma and butter chicken are phenomenal, and so is the naan! Service is absolutely amazing too, especially the owner. Highly recommend!
My favorite in the area. The naan is the best Ive had in NYC. The lamb korma is incredible. We come here at least once a month to order something different and it has always consistently impressed me.
Lovely dinner at this restaurant with the family. Mahbub the manager gave us great recommendations on the “ Thali “ that my husband and I ordered. Aubergine Curry was the best I’ve had with Chana and Daal delicious too. Kids loved Chicken Saag and Lamb Masala. Mahbub made us feel special and welcome and is very passionate about the restaurant. Would definitely recommend the food! Enjoy
Lousy service - got my order all wrongWaiter is too slow and there were only a few people in the restaurant2nd time here. 1st time the owner an absolutely lovely lady was there and food was good. Totally different experience this time around.
I’m no Indian food expert by any means, but I stopped by to takeaway butter chicken I was craving. I came just as they opened, and just the vibes that the owners gave were so sweet and kind! The butter chicken was supposed to be emergency food id freeze to eat later, but I had a bite and ended up crushing the whole thing!
This place is a gem. We are a family with Indian roots and know and appreciate our Indian food. We had struggled to find a good Indian restaurant in Manhattan (often going instead to Jackson heights) until we found India Palace. The dishes are made with care and offer authentic flavours. Moreover I have to congratulate the management for their standout service. Recently we ordered a big meal again and the food just wasnt of the usual high standard so I wrote to them to share our feedback. The restaurant quickly responded and sent us the next day 2 complimentary dishes which were again of an exceptional quality. Bravo for the customer service and bravo as well for doing the necessary to maintain the quality of your food. Thank you so much!
Amazing. Healthy, authentic, homemade indian food. Good prices aswell.
Small but homey spot with great food! We ordered samosa, tarka dal, and chicken tikka masala. We also ordered naan. Everything was great and service was very attentive. We were even given free rice pudding which was so delicious. This is definitely an affordable hidden gem in the neighborhood. We will definitely back to try the thalis.
Food tasted bad. First, the staff seemed super-friendly. We only got takeout, so maybe dining in is better, but the problem was the food. Sadly, not good. I was motivated by all the great reviews. We really struck out. We didnt like the taste, and the paneer had an unusual texture for us -- it seemed overcooked. My partner would give it zero stars, but I found the dishes edible enough to get through. And, as I said, the staff were very nice. I hate to leave a review like this one, but people should get some kind of warning. Maybe its just a problem one Friday night, but we wont be returning to find out after that meal.
Absolutely 10/10!! The owner is the loveliest and her food is incredible. I highly recommend the Samosas, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Lamb Tikka. If it’s nice, sit outside and enjoying people watching or inside is great too. All around fantastic!
Phenomenal lunch options and variety. Fresh dips and perfect naan.
The food is not good quality fill of oily and is not what I have ordered, overpriced for very little quantity and the quality of food was bad. Went for second time to the restaurant to complain and the guy who charged me remembered me and he told the other guy and the other guy I believe was the chef or someone works there keep telling me that I may ordered something else which is really annoying that the guy who charged me said no she asked for grilled mix and I I got only chicken! I was so annoyed from the service and from the way the other guy handled the situation, I don’t recommend anyone to go there as it is also overpriced besides the quality of the food was bad and the quantity is very little.
My new lunch spot! I just stumbled into India Place and Im so glad I walked in. The owners were so kind and I appreciated their lunch special recommendations. Their dal is perfectly spiced. Im excited to try more of their menu soon!
The food here is absolutely amazing. The Tikka Masala has a uniquely rich flavor. And the Bhuna is also something you don’t see everywhere and very delicious too. Jalfrezis aren’t too common at Indian restaurants but good see it here and it has a nice vegetable-forward sauce.Location is a bit unfortunate with the FDR on-ramp traffic but the food and staff more than make up for it. Say hi to the Mexican cavalera out front ;)
Visit this place many times. Stuff is friendly and attentive. Food is yummy and the price is reasonable .atmosphere is outstanding. Lamb vindallo and Nan bread is superb. Traditional Indian and bangali tea is full of flavour and authentic. Can’t wait to visit this restaurant again.
Great food and atmosphere! The owner is so sweet, just an amazing place!
Authentic rajsthani/ north Indian food in a cozy corner. Very good hospitality. Awesome and kind staff. Walking distance from Indian consulate, NYC.We ate veg thali, which came with 1 poori and rice, 3 veg of your choice, raita, sweet- rice pudding, salad, and complimentary poppadum with 3 different dips for $18.75. The quantity was more than an adult could finish. We also enjoyed hot samosa and French fries, which was very reasonably priced. Overall, it was a very good experience of dining in this restaurant. We will surely come back again.
I visited this restaurant this past Mothers Day with my family. The venue has festive decor that showcases south Asian culture with sophistication. The waitstaff was courteous and very attentive. Our meals and drinks came promptly and requests were accommodated with ease. The food was incredible. The tandoori chicken was succulent and mouth watering. The chicken tikka masala was flavored perfectly. The beef Kosta kebab took me by complete surprise. Im usually not a fan, but it was delicious at this restaurant, perfectly spiced and nuanced with different dimensions of flavor. I love this restaurant and it will be my go to spot for delicious Indian food going forward.
Great food and service! Highly recommend the korma and tikka masala
Solid Indian restaurant! Really enjoyed the food and service here. The portions are generous at reasonable price points. Highly recommend!
Such great food!!! Got a great recommendation over the phone for the chicken buhra. We also got the garlic naan palak paneer and complimentary rice and crispy things for dipping. SOOOOO yummy def coming back. Very efficient and sweet staff!
Me and my boyfriend had a day trip to New York from new Jersey, would definitely come back again! The only thing to critique would be the tikki masala (lamb and chicken), wish there was more spice. Overall it was a great experience! The nicest staff and the best rice pudding (I have never liked rice pudding until trying theirs).
Lamb meat was so soft - best Ive had in a lamb curry. Chicken curry and garlic naan were also delicious. Wed come again, but just a note to management - just make sure you pay attention to hygiene especially when you are brand new to the neighborhood.Love that the Indian food choices are expanding in the neighborhood.
Great service, the place is not a big thing but the food was amazing! I loved, I ll be back for sure! 💯Btw the restroom is malfunctioning
My friend and I were craving Indian food so we decided on India Palace.I ordered the Lamb Masala with white rice and she ordered Chicken Masala with white rice and some garlic naan.Upon arrival everything was warm and there wasnt any spillage. The one thing I will say is that I wish there that the bowls were labeled between the chicken and the lamb Masala.I thoroughly enjoyed my food and my friend and I had no complaints! It was well-seasoned and the sauce went well with the naan. The meat was cooked well and it wasnt hard to chew.I would recommend ordering from here!Thank you again India Palace !
Very nice food , taste is like pakka Indian
Nice experience! The hostess/ waitress was extremely pleasant and gave great service! The food was good, certainly hit the spot! If you’re resident New Yorker or just visiting, I would recommend India Palace for a delicious authentic Indian meal.
Best Indian restaurant in the neighborhood! We had our go-to Indian restaurant. But India Palace became our number one Indian restaurant! We ordered Chicken tikka masala and lamb saag. They are both creamy and I couldnt stop eating!!!Sometimes Indian food makes my stomach upset a little, but this one didnt at all.Unfortunately, the location is not easy to find (its not on the main street), and they dont have a liquor license yet. But you can bring your drink which is so nice! The people were very friendly and nice. We will definitely come back again!!1/21/2023 added----We ordered Shrimp tandoori for pick-up. It was $20, and they only gave us tiny 6 shrimp....Im so disappointed. Do not order Tandoori from them .....
The restaurant and the service was lovely. The food was great and had an amazing lunch deal. Would definitely come back to try more dishes!
One of our favorites Indian restaurants in the city. Cozy atmosphere, great service, and savory food. Highly recommend!
Great option for Indian food. I liked the chains masala and the mixed veggies. Another person loved the chicken masala and the butter chicken. They said the bread was delicious. I really liked the rice and they bring you different sauces with another bread. The lunchboxes are a great way to taste everything. The service was really nice and helpful. Ill definitely come back.
This is a gem of a place. The food is amazing. you can select 3 different dishes lamb, chicken or vegetable for the lunch special. Try the cheese naan. you will never go back to plain naan.
The whole staff and experience was amazing. They hosted a surprise birthday party for me and the food was halal and absolutely delicious 😋 It was a beautiful, clean, and cozy environment to spend a good night with loved ones ❤️Keep up the great work team at India Palace!
New to our neighborhood and really wanted to like them. We got Thali of lamb and chicken dishes (to try several versions) and cauliflower gobi appetizer. The coating of the cauliflower is nothing like we have every had - way too thick. Could barely taste cauliflower. Part of the chicken was so overcooked and dry that we could not cut it with a knife. One of the sauces with butter was separated and greasy. The naan tasted like bad pizza crust. The only decent parts - the chicken saag and the lamb vindaloo.
One of my favorite Indian places on UES so far. Great food, very generous serving sizes, and solid service.Seems to still be under-appreciated due to being relatively new and tucked around the corner, so no long lines, at least for now...I will definitely be back.
So, I judge Indian Restaurants by their Chicken Tikka Masala and unfortunately theirs is lacking..First off, the sauce is way too creamy with not enough of a tomato component..it was also very bland. And most importantly for me, I asked the very nice hostess for white meat only and lo and behold I get a dish full of dark rubbery chicken pieces..you know the kind where you discard the pieces that have a texture that doesnt agree with you usually in a used napkin. The reason I stopped off at this place was due to all the great reviews..Maybe their other dishes, like curry ones, are good but If youre a Chicken Tikka Masala fan you might want to skip this place...
Amazing food and service! The chicken tikka masala and mango lassi were delicious, and the naan and veggie samosa were incredibly fresh. Would highly recommend as a great spot for flavorful and authentic Indian food!
BEST CURRY EVER❤️Also GREAT customer service. It’s non negotiable that I stop here whenever I hit the city.
The food was really awesome. GREAT TASTE if you are bored of English food.Service was so nice. They were patient with all our tantrums and handled things really smoothly.Go have a drink and eat peacefully😀
The food was absolutely delicious. My wife and I shared Paneer Masala and Chana Masala. We enjoyed both dishes so much with the Paneer Masala being our favorite. The owner and the chef were welcoming and delightful. We will be back.
Authentic, delicious Indian food. Ask the waiter for recommendations/ specials. Had live music on the evening we were there.
Definitely one of the most authentic tasting Indian restaurants in the neighborhood — don’t skip the lamb, it was so tender! Will be back!
Excellent thali, amazing food, always fresh, this is the best desi place in Manhattan!
India Palace has amazing food and friendly service. . It was my friends first time trying vindaloo and they absolutely loved it. Mine was great as well, arguably the best I’ve ever had. Visit India Palace!
The food and the service were excellent. I recommend coming here if you want tasty authentic Indian food.
Really excellent food and great service! A wonderful new addition to the Indian food UES scene. I loved the lamb biryani (not spicy at all and great meat-to-rice ratio) and the malai kofta. Ill absolutely be getting food from here again!
Took over 20 min for order and got charged different then menu…. Always check ur bill and menu. Food was amazing.. it doesn’t say any where different prices for cash or credit card. You should have 2 price in menu or should charge separately like Tax saying credit card fees
I dont know how this place got 4.7 ratings. I think they are non indians who gave them 5 stars. Their biryani is the worst. I tried their other items. Worst in east side
Great food, great atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
Run dont walk to get some of the most delicious Indian food in the city! We got the samosas, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and a shrimp curry and wow. Everything was so flavorful, so hearty. The saag paneer was by far my favorite - it was so comforting, perfectly balanced seasoning, like if you could translate the feeling of a warm hug into a dish. The owner of the restaurant is also the nicest lady. She’s so hospitable and i really felt taken care of!10/10 recommend!
We were actually planning to go to Imli, which is close by but it’s closed now. So we went here. The ambience is great, although it’s a small restaurant. But their hospitality is amazing. Server and the owner were very welcoming, they even had suggestions for what to order among their best food!We had chana masala and their onion and garlic naan. They even serve papad with 3 different chutneys (sauces) as well, it was tasty! As I am someone who loves papad!Chana masala came with rice and it was delicious! Tangy and spicy! (We ordered it to be spicy)Naan were good, fluffy and soft! They even offered us some kheer (rice pudding) as complimentary.Overall, it was an amazing experience. Songs were good too! Old Bollywood songs! They had a small restroom as well, which was clean and tidy.
Amazing! I ordered the lunch special to take out. The meal included appetizer, vegetables, chicken, rice and dessert. The flavors are so good.
10 mins walking distance from Roosevelt Island Tram. I had been here with my family. A small to mid size restaurant, but dont underestimate the taste of the food.Food has better quantity, quality and I found a bit reasonable price as compared to other Desi restaurants around TIMES SQUARE.Staff is also courteous and they will suggest good menu in case you are confused. Limited vegetarian menu, but its worth.Good non-vegetarian menu.Asif was the server and I think when we went he was the one serving most of the tables. But he was doing the service very diligently.I would recommend this restaurant.PS - Do look for parking space in case you are coming by your own car. I didnt find a much dedicated parking place. Other than that, no problem.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, helped us with our car parking spot as well. The food was fresh and amazing and the kitchen also accommodated special requests
Food took almost 40 mins to arrive when we are the only customer. Food taste was not good. Food was very oily. Vegetable Korma, Channa Saag, Egg burji, Lamb dal was not good at all.I will not recommend this place.
There are a few Indian restaurants in the area, this is undoubtedly the best. Food is excellent, service is excellent.. a must try in the neighborhood.
One of the beat tasty Indian restaurants of the ones I know in Europe and North America. Very friendly service, feel like family right away with this very warmly welcoming owner.
Excellent service, friendly staff, delicious and flavorful food, spicy, rich, creamy, fresh... Top notch. Butter chicken, saag paneer, chicken bhuna, garlic naan, finished with rice pudding!
Very oily food. I ordered malai kofta and samosa. Samosa was decent
Absolutely a MUST go!! The food was so delicious and tasted, clean (if you know, you know). I don’t normally enjoy vegan but their vegan curry was outstanding!! The staff was so warm and welcoming.Over all, a true diamond in the rough. Can’t wait to go back!!
Im just some out of town hungry dork wondering and stumbled upon this palace. Lucked out. Its now my nyc go to for the India cuisine hankering. Vindaloo is the good sweats if your into that!
Food is great. Service is good. Atmosphere not that good, No dine in.
Great food! I had Malai Kofta and Daal. They were excellent. It was refreshingly different than other North Indian places.
Such a gem of a restaurant! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious. Each dish is so flavorful and palatable. The prices are great and the staff are even better.Recommended a bunch of my coworkers to come and it’s been a hit! India Palace deserves all the recognition!Dishes I recommend: (chicken tandoori and chicken masala are great but these are the other highlights)Bengal shrimpBaingan Barta (eggplant)Mango lassiPalak paneerAlo Vaji (potato) - soooo good
I tried their food for the first time today and it was one of the best indian meals I had in a while. I really enjoyed the chicken tikka masala. I would also recommend the shrimp saag. Overall would 100% go here to eat again.
I thought the food was excellent! Vegetarian specialties were very nice — get the Chana and Dahl. Good service too.
Best value Indian restaurant on the upper east side. Dishes are delicious and the owner and staff are super kind
Great food and chai, the service was great. Might want to include a super spicy item on the menu for those who want to push their limit.
Nice People good food
Their food is really good and delicious. The employee of India Palace is excellent. They are so professionals.
We came for late lunch on a weekday. It was not busy (us and 2 other parties that came after). We ordered the Kati roll and saag salmon. The wrap for the Kati roll was so thick. Saag salmon was bland. We had a super friendly waiter who provided excellent service but unfortunately would not be going back again for the food or ambiance (old and loud music overhead).
I ordered from this place since I was craving some chicken tikka masala. I wish I didn’t, the least tasty chicken tika I ever had.
Great ambience, take your date here for a good lowkey vibe 🔥
The food is tasty enough but it takes way too long especially for what’s advertised as a lunch special. We were one of only two tables and for both tables it took more than 45 minutes for our food to arrive with no word from the waitress.Afterward we spoke with another staff member who said what we ordered - which was advertised as the lunch special - takes extra time…. So why advertise it as a lunch special if it takes so long? The other table had to take their food to go because they had to go back to work.Food wise was tasty - not amazing but probably would have tasted even better had it not taken so long, or if we had been warned.
A welcome addition to the neighborhood - After too many forgetful attempts to try the new restaurant Im sad I didnt try it sooner. The food is rich and flavorful, portion sizes plentiful, and both the service and delivery were excellent. I plan for India Palace to be part of my weekly rotation until I can sample every item on the menu! Highly recommend this down to earth neighborhood gem!You get all the flavors and spices of traditional Indian cooking without any one overpowering the others - which given their ~40 year history in Bayridge is no surprise. Im thrilled to be a part of this restaurants new chapter in Manhattan!
Actually 4 and a half stars (I dont allow myself more than one five star rating per year). This is a great place... relaxed, the music is not too loud... service and food were both excellent. There were six of us and each of us had something different. Being a Goan fan, I had the lamb vindaloo, not killer spicy (my request), but tasty and filling. The butter chicken also was much recommended by the person who ordered it. They have Kingfisher and Taj Mahal beer in the large bottles, and a great selection of lassi. Service was spot on, friendly, and they even turned down the AC for us!
This is the best restaurant in the entire New York!Nice people, nice music, vibe and amazing food! Absolutely recommended!
Very tasty food. Best garlic naan I’ve had. Great service, too.
We love all the items we have ordered. Biriyani had a totally different taste so far than what I had but it was delicious. Chai was super refreshing.their masala also poori was too good. The masala was kept inside and fried . Good place in the middle of the NYC city. Easy access.after a long walk in the Roosevelt Island this place helped us to have a good food at the right time. Keep up the good food and service guys. All the best
The best indian food i’ve had in nyc very sweet and kind staff who take care of you
Food is really delicious. The owner is friendly. Restaurant is clean and all over atmosphere is outstanding.I really like their old Hindi music .Enjoy a lots, will come back soon and recommend my friends and family.
I’ve had good experiences at most Indian restaurants, but India Palace went above and beyond! First, their garlic naans are the crispiest I’ve ever had, delicious! The owner (Krishi) is a wonderful lady who makes sure you know that she is appreciative of your business. If possible, definitely try their chai (tea) after food - the tea doesn’t get more authentic Indian than this. Would also recommend their Butter Chicken which comes with a side of rice. Nice and large portion size. Would visit again!
Food is amazing after long time in new York we got a great food 🥰
Best Malay Kofta Ive had in forever. Dont miss it. We loved everything we tried, the Lamb Biryani and Chicken Kurma were standout favorites.
Everything is very tasty 😋 😍Khyshe is so friendly!
Very highly recommended. Good food and good service. I recommend the vegetable biryani.
We ordered take out- chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, samosas, and garlic naan. Flavors were great but the mild spice level left us wanting more of a kick. Overall, each dish was very tasty with fresh and high quality ingredients. India Palace will definitely be one of our new go to restaurants! Looking forward to trying the mango lassi next time.
The food was excellent! The service was wonderful and the portions are great!
Amazing food and great food service. Best waiter ever
Disgusting! I know they gave me an old chicken Tikka masala! Worst ever! Dont trust them yall!
Really good food, fairly priced, and nice people. Will be adding to the rotation.
We had such an incredible dinner at India palace. We brought out of town relatives, and everyone was so impressed. Ambience was comfortable, service was beyond attentive, and the food was exactly what we were craving. Will definitely be returning!
I’m not one to leave reviews, but we chose to order from here based on all the good reviews and were very let down. The food arrived completely covered in oil. The Palak paneer (one of my favorites usually) tasted like creamed spinach with absolutely no salt, seasoning or spice. We had to add salt and red pepper flakes to make it edible. The malai kofta (ordered bc of the good reviews for this dish) tasted like just buttery heavy cream, also with no flavor or spice. The lamb vindaloo was seasoned well, but again, incredibly oily. My partner is Indian and we eat a TON of Indian food, really wanted to love this place in our neighborhood.
Really enjoyed our lunch at India Palace. Food was tasty (tho a little mild). It’s a little noisy to sit out on 62nd, but pleasantly shaded. And the service was excellent — very friendly and efficient. And they brought us complimentary rice pudding! Thank you!!
The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff is very kind and courteous. I will keep coming eating here for the foreseeable future !
Delightful Indian food. Excellent service. Nice Chianti. My new favorite.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. From the moment we entered, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The interior decor was beautiful, with colorful tapestries and lantern lighting setting an authentic ambiance. We started with a selection of appetizers including the onion bhaji, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with flavorful onions inside. The aloo tikki were also a standout - the potato patties were delicately spiced and went great with the cool and tangy tamarind chutney. For the main course, I ordered the chicken tikka masala. The chicken was so tender it fell off the bone and soaked up the incredible creamy tomato sauce. The flavors were complex, from the aromatic spices to the rich fenugreek and garlic. My partner had the Paneer vegetable, which also had an amazing depth of flavor from the long-simmered lamb in an onion-tomato gravy. Alongside our entrees, we had the garlic naan which was freshly baked in the tandoor and arrived fluffy and steaming hot at our table. To finish off the meal on a sweet note, we couldnt resist ordering the kulfi which was dense, creamy and packed with pistachios. It was the perfect way to end an incredible meal. From the food to the service and ambiance, everything was top-notch. I cant recommend this restaurant highly enough - its hands down one of the best Indian restaurants Ive been to!
I had an amazing meal on this restaurant at last night. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They seated us right away and our server came over within minutes to take our order. He made some great suggestions from their extensive food and snacks list. For appetizers, we ordered the samosas and the papdi chaat. The samosas were delicately fried with a flaky crust and filled with a flavorful mixture of potatoes and peas. The papdi chaat was a colorful medley of flavors and textures like crunchy chips, chickpeas, yogurt and an array of chutneys. For the main course, I had the chicken tikka masala which was out of this world. The chicken was so tender and marinated perfectly in a creamy, tomato gravy. My friend had the baingan bharta, which was smoky and rich. The naan bread was freshly baked in the tandoor oven and arrived piping hot at our table.Overall, the food was absolutely incredible. Every dish was packed with authentic Indian flavors yet the spices were perfectly balanced. From the appetizers to mains to dessert, each course impressed our table. The service was also top-notch. Our server was attentive, polite and happy to offer recommendations. I will definitely be back soon and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a 5-star Indian dining experience.
Looking for authentic Indian cuisine? This is the place! We have eaten dinner here about 5 times and the food is consistently wonderful. I don’t like too much spice & they happily adjust it for my meals. The owners & servers are welcoming & engaging. It feels like you are eating in the home of good friends. Highly recommended!!!
Great food, great people. The ambiance and flavors transported me back. Growing up in Queens, I experienced authentic Indian food. This spot is spot on!
Amazing food and incredible service! 10/10 recommend
Ordered three entrees for takeout. No issues with ordering or pickup.Chana saag was made from canned spinach and tasted like it. Egg korma was almost sweet and bland. Shrimp masala had 5 very overcooked shrimp and some sauce and was somehow the best of the three. None of the dishes were spicy in the least and, worse, they were pretty bland. There is some great Indian food to be had in the UES, but for me this didn’t hit the mark.
The food is incredible!! I think if you’re around the area or live nearby, you need to give this restaurant a try. New people are always so surprised they haven’t found this hidden gem.Starting with just the sauces for dipping papadums. All fresh and made in house. Samosas we’re just outta the oven. We ordered a chickpeas and lamb bhana dish. It was so, so delicious: strong spiced, not too overwhelmingly spicy, and really fresh ingredients. Highly recommend if you don’t like creamy/buttery sauces. They gave us a dessert on the house, and chatted about their origin. The owner has 30 years of history cooking and running restaurants. Def give this place a chance!!
I had such a lovely experience here! The food presentation was beautiful, it tasted so very delicious, and the service was exceptional. The owner was a very sweet, generous, and kind human being, and I treasured the interactions I got to have with her! I highly recommend this place; if youre looking for great Indian food, this is the place to go!
I’ve lived in NYC for 22 years. This is the best Indian food I’ve had. Warm, non pretentious atmosphere. We felt so welcomed. Family owned restaurant and you feel like you are in their living room and part of the family. We got Butter Chicken and Chicken Kurma. The chicken literally melted in our mouths. Incredible. One of those gem restaurant that you want to keep a secret for yourself but also want to give them tons of business. Run to eat there now.
Total waste of money and time
My husband and I ate here on a date night and it was fabulous! Not only was the atmosphere inviting but the food was delicious. Our waitress was extremely friendly and gave us the best food recommendations. We definitely plan on coming back!
As soon as I entered I knew the food was gonna be good. The authenticity to culture and the gracious servers made the first few minutes enjoyable. I ordered the spinach paneer and butter chicken and thoroughly enjoyed both. All their food is served fresh including their specialty, naan. Their naan is fluffy, flavorful, and tasty with everything else on the menu. Ten out of ten experience on 62nd street and will come again. As a tourist, I have high hopes for the cuisine New York has to offer. I can say confidently that if you’re looking for some authentic desi dishes, India palace is the way to go.
Delicious food . Environment is too good . Perfect place for family time and hangout. I tried Lamb biriyani, it was too delicious 🥰❣️

Great food and even better service!
I ate here a few months ago. The food was awful. The worst Indian food I have ever eater and I really, really like Indian food. I question the authenticity of the websites reviews. Yes, the waiter was nice enough. I would NOT recommend this place
This was a wonderful authentic Indian dining experience. I ordered the assorted snacks, naan bread, and vegetable Thali. So good!! The owner is extremely cordial and offers great insights into the cuisine. I highly recommend. Was perfect after walking the streets of NYC on a rainy Saturday.
Highly recommend! Food and service was stellar!

Great restaurant! The food and service here is amazing. Our waiter was so kind and gave us a background on their home style cooking which is like no other. Fresh Naan, the mago lassi is delicious. Would recommend to come and visit.
Great place, great people, some of (if not) the best Indian food I’ve had. Will come back for sure!
Amazing chicken curry and saag paneer! The naan was amazing! Authentic cuisine, excited to come back soon!
The food was delicious, excellent service & the owner was amazing. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in NYC.
Came across this during a walk and we were enamored with the old Bollywood music playing and the cozy interior. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. We ordered the lamb saag and chicken tikka and both weren’t amazing. Chicken tikka could’ve used a touch more sweetness and spiciness - the flavors felt bland and made me wonder if certain powdered seasonings were used rather than fresh. Lamb saag okay - lamb was kind of soft. I’d recommend trying somewhere else.
Remind me home cooked fooNice and clean.
The food was awesome. Credit goes to the Chef.
