Very friendly welcoming service from the team. Very different from the grumpy rude guy from last year. Pizzas were huge, of quality and yummy. Great chewy and crunchy crust. Very generous on basil unlike other places that you get 1 leaf as a decoration. Vegan option was avail as well. Snag a window seat area especially at lunch as main dining room seemed too dark. Nice decor all around.

Upon entering the restaurant, they were quick to sit us and that the the best thing about our experience at this restaurant. The server came to only take the orders from us then to ring up our bill. In between, we couldn’t get service at all, our drinks were constantly empty, we had to flag down to get people’s attention. The serve saw us waving our hands from the next table but didn’t bother coming. it was many other guys filling our drinks and brining out our foods. In the end, our server had the nerve to tell my husband that I was rude and that’s why he didn’t give good service. How would he know? He only was at our table to take our order before running the bill! Just unacceptable service, period!!

Best lasagna in the city. Maybe the world?Genuinely, though, Inatesso is special. Battery Park is an expensive, low-traffic area. Restaurants open up and go out of business all the time, but these guys have been going strong for over 15 years now. That should tell you how much of a local staple this place is.Everything on the menu is wonderful and so are the people who work here.

One of the better spots for pizza in the downtown area. And I think it’s another new set of owners, because it had gone downhill for a while, but now it’s much better. Still a bit pricey, but the quality of the food is much better than before.

I was a previous customer and gave this restaurant five stars I found myself in the area and after being a customer here I was refused to use the restroom. So now Im updating my five-star review to one star review. They said I was not a current customer. So I had to pay $5 for a Coca-Cola just to use the restroom. They should be ashamed of themselves. I hope the $5 was worth a one star review

Good pizza and food at a slightly pricier given its location. We ordered the Sicilian pizza plain, a whole sheet tray of crisp and soft pizza ($26), romano salad ($15) and a seasonal Mozzarella di buffula ($17).Service was very sub-par if you dont order alcohol. We had to flag down the server for a water refill--which wasnt checked on after food was dropped. Our cards with the check to sign were dropped at the wrong table and were kindly passed over by the guests at the table. All around not the kind of service I would expect for that atmosphere, location and price point. Potentially, understaffed to meet the sudden NY summer day in April.

Its been over a year since I visited NYC and ate at Inatteso, but our experience here was better than I remember. The people serving here are super nice and so kind and friendly to us Texas visitors. The soup, salad, bread, and pizza were all just super delicious. I dont know how they cook those pizzas like that but its so tasty. The crust was super thin and crispy. The toppings were so good. And I had the leak and potato soup with roasted olive oil and croutons. Oohhh, so good. Highly recommend a trip down here to experience this.

I really had a extremely bad experience here. For the steak, I asked for median rare. The inside is like that but see the outside, it is overcooked and it tastes really bitter. I asked the waiter and he justsaid that It is median rare and did not answer my question of the reason why this steak taste soft inside but bitter and hard to chew outside. He said that it was nonsense and he went away with a frustrated emotion. Non of the employee helps us. We ate the meals reluctantly for the reason that we did not want to waste the money that we spend. Moreover, the chicken is sour and all the meals are not delicious at all. What in the world is this? I am really hungry but I did not say anything because I didn’t want to disseminate the negative feelings to other customers.

Not sure what happened to this restaurant. I have been going for a couple of years and usually it was always good/decent food. Today I had to send back the ravioli, they were so overcooked that it was not possible to eat them. The second time around they were exactly the same.I tasted my friends pasta and it was also horrendously overcooked. I am Italian and there are many places in NY where you can eat good pasta. This place was one of those before, but I am sorry to say that it isnt anymore.I did not eat the ravioli the second time around either and we just left. I hope management does something about this, I am not going back any time soon. The staff did not charge us for the drinks and I appreciate it, but the restaurants should take action on the quality of the food they serve,

When we lived in Battery Park City NYC over 6 years ago, this was one of our favorite restaurants that was several blocks from our place. We loved their dipping sauce for the fresh bread they serve before the entree. We would come here for special celebrations or when friends or family are visiting from out of town. Wed order a combination of pizza and pastas and eat family style. I wanted to buy the dip for the bread but they dont sell it. There is a kids playground nearby and its just minutes away from the river view. I miss this place and havent eaten here since I moved away from NYC!

This is the spot Ill referring to when non New Yorkers ask me where the best pizza in town is. Order the Sicilian Pie. Service was awesome..they include the tip (waitstaff has probably been burnt too many times from Europeans not familiar with the local modus operandi), which is not common, so watch out and make sure you dont tip twice. With that said, I wouldnt have minded tipping our waitress twice..she was so kind and patient, Im pretty sure shes not a local herself.

ILLEGAL discrimination against REAL service animals. Truly IGNORANT staff, management, and ownership. They need to take an ADA education class because they are absolutely ignorant in WHAT A SERVICE ANIMAL IS AND THAT THERE IS NO ACTUAL “PHYSICAL LICENSE” FOR REAL SERVICE ANIMALS. They wouldn’t allow our LEGITIMATE service animal in without seeing an ID .. FOR THE DOG. FYI THERE IS NO SUCH THING. Anyone who shows a “paper” or “ID” obtained that on some scam website for their pet. True service animals do NOT have any kind of “license”. They are now facing a discrimination lawsuit.

Nice local stop for pizza if you’re looking for a place with quick and friendly service along with some classic pizzas. The dip for their bread is quite delicious though the bread itself felt a bit on the sweet side. We came the first time on Sunday, 07/22 at about 9:15 or 9:20 and didnt realize they were closing at 10 (i didnt see hours of operation posted on the entrance, might have been there but i didnt see them) when we came in and the waitress only told us that the kitchen was closing in a half hour and only pasta and pizza would be available. She should have said the place is closing at 10. The waitress was nice to us but I overheard her say something like they need to get the f _ _ _ out only she used the f word. The girl working behind the bar was complaining about how they close at 10:00 and she was cussing too! I told the waitress that we didnt realize they closed at 10 because I felt bad and she was nice about it. We got our pizza at 9:40 and we were out the door at 10:03. As I said, the food is excellent. The service not so much.

I stumbled in here for a quick dinner and it was better than I expected. It was not as busy as one would expect for a Sunday dinner, but that also meant faster service. They have a LOT of employees for the small space and number of customers they had and it gets a bit hectic because of the employees passing by and running into each other.I got the black pepper tagliatelle with boar ragú and the Parma pizza (large). The food was delicious, as can be seen in the pictures. However, when I asked for my half pan of left over pizza boxed up to go, I found myself waiting for a while....the check came but the pizza never did. When I asked where my boxed up pizza was, they ran around trying to find it - only to realize the busboys/servers ate our leftovers. My server was quick to figure out what happened, and remedied the situation by offering to bake a new small pan of pizza, and a round of drinks for my table while we waited.Despite the confusion, I was happy with the service and their reaction to the unexpected situation, and the quality of the food. I would definitely come here again.

Despite some very tempting NYC Restaurant Week options, I had a very specific hankering for Neapolitan style pizza yesterday and didnt want to walk too far during a heat advisory. This place caught my eye (and nearby Sauce & Barrel, which I really liked during my first and only time there, closed earlier this summer), so my chum and I wandered over yesterday.Ive walked by this place a handful of times; its a very gentrified area and for me, a lot of the buildings/businesses kind of blend together - its basically the NYC equivalent of Newport right across the river. Thats not a ding on Inatteso, but I think a lot of the establishments in this neighborhood by definition have difficulty standing apart because of it. Your mileage may vary. That said, this is a very pleasant location in many respects. If it hadnt been insanely hot, we likely would have eaten outside and taken in the view - this is about a block from Battery Park and right on one of the rare wide avenues in downtown Manhattan, so it actually feels more laidback than a lot of nearby counterparts.I decided to go with a Margarita pie ($21), which was okay. It came fairly quickly - one of the great selling points of traditional Neapolitan pies - but personal palate-wise, Im not crazy about big chunks in my tomato sauce. There were a few noticeable pockets of oil still lingering on the top of the pie, and the dough was more chewy than airy for me. The cheese was fine, but fairly indistinguishable. I still had four slices, but I left the remaining half of the pie in the work fridge for the public to consume. I also had a Paloma ($16); also fine, but I think Im officially over that cocktail - its refreshing on a day like this, but for me it just seems bland and a little too tart. Thats also not something I think is necessarily an issue with Inatteso specifically, but their cocktail menu isnt lengthy (and half of it is negronis) so in the future Id stick with a glass of wine; THAT part of the menu is pretty extensive. The service was fine, and the price point here is pretty competitive for the area; underscoring that fact was that the clientele was a solid mixture of nearby residents and tourists passing through. This isnt a bad place but I just personally wasnt crazy about it.

The manager or host, whomever greeted me at the door, told me that I wouldn’t be allowed to use the outlets because the outlets were closed to customers. As someone who works in the restaurant business, it is a shame that money was lost simply for denying a pretty reasonable hospitality request.Food looks delicious though!

Ive eaten here more than I can count. The food is the closest to true Italian dining than Ive been able to find in NY. Yes, even with all our Italian restaurants. Their Margherita pizza is the best and only one Ive found that I actually enjoy. My favorite dish is the eggplant parmesan, which is not the American version. Every dish is divine. Love the atmosphere tooI have only fond memories of this place

We ordered food around 9:30 pm on Sunday as online showed they were open until 10. The order was canceled. We called and were informed kitchen was already closed. They took no responsibility for the incorrectly posted information or closing early and made no effort to reconcile our negative experience. We like the food. However, we wont return based on this poor customer care.

Mediocre food and worst customer service. They kept us waiting for food, then they forgot that we ordered a soda can. We had to constantly remind them that we ordered something and it hasnt arrived at our table which is very frustrating. They even kept us waiting for the card reader to pay the bill. The waitress was not courteous and uninterested in doing her job.

Went here with my father around 5 years ago. We found it by just walking down the street looking for something eat and this Italian looked very nice. We were greeted right away and had a nice place to sit. We shared a Pizza della Nonna and it was so good. We were able to choose the topics we wanted and everything worked out perfectly.Honestly, probably the best restaurant Ive been to in New York City and would love to go again if Im ever back.

Long story short: bad customer service, and Im calling out the server named Bernard (based on the receipt). First my family came into the restaurant, and my mom took grandpa straight to the bathroom, while me and my lil sister stand outside looking at the menu. Bernard walked by and said its okay if you dont order anything from menu, but i have to charge for bathroom fee. Turn off number 1. My family was there to eat, not to use your bathroom only, and we as tourists have money to pay for it.After that, I ordered 2 pizza togo. Bernard took my card and went get the check. When he came back with my bill, my mom changed her mind and wanted to eat in, so i told him. He threw the biggest annoying attitude ever and said thats why he asked if i wanted to do togo or dine in. Ok, I understood that it was my fault to changed my mind, and it might messed up his turn of taking customer. But does that mean he entitle to throw tantrum at customer? He showed bad attitude so I didnt want to eat in anymore. I finally tip him anyway in hope his life would be better and he would have better attitude to the future customers.About the food, I ordered Pizza Bianca and Diavolo. Bianca was okay, but the Diavolo was not great. All the tomato sauce and tomato clumps just conveniently slided off my slices. Not recommend.

I almost hate posting a review because I love this place. I love the neighborhood feel I love that its not a madhouse at least when my wife and I go. The food is absolutely outstanding. For us this is our place for special occasions and they never disappoint.

This is our favorite pizza place in the city to go to. We go everytime with our family. Everything is good! Unfortunately, we traveled from far and the man who was servicing outside was not welcoming at all. He literally told me in front of my husband and children the kitchen was closing in 5 mins! There is no way at 330pm, on a Saturday with the weather beautiful that a place of business was closing. Anyways, The tables weren’t cleaned outside. This guy just made it such a bad experience. Just overall rude and nasty! We walked away and ate else where. Wish Caesar was there to service and not that grumpy man.

Inatteso is a nice pizzeria tucked away in Battery Park City, just far enough out of reach to avoid the usual crowded lunch scene in the neighboring area. They have a great selection of pizza available, but me and the rest of my table did notice that both of our pizzas were noticeably under seasoned.I would still gladly give them another shot because the experience was still very positive overall.
