We had a private dinner here and it was amazing! Everything from the team to the ambiance to the food was perfect. The server even helped us blow up our balloons. Definitely get the Paella! We got multiple compliments on the food and we definitely want to come back. This is my new favorite tapas place.
Had a cute date here with my partner after wanting to try this place for a long time. I’m from spain and I thought the food was great actually! We got the setas, pulpo, and paella de mariscos. All of the seafood was tasty and cooked really well. Definitely will return.
GAUDir used to be open only on Mondays as a pop up in the Tastings Social space where Mountain Bird was the other 6 nights but starting last week, Mountain Bird moved around the corner and GAUDir is now open 6 days in the 110 Street spot. Ironically not on Mondays ... I’m wondering out loud here if another pop up will take that night. How lucky for everyone, and especially my family who have now enjoyed 4 meals there in the last 8 days! We have tried most of the tapas dishes — there isn’t one I wouldn’t order again — along with the paella, octopus, and steak entrees. The burnt cheesecake is my husband’s favorite while I can’t resist the churros, which are hands down, the best I’ve ever had.Not only is the food amazing but the atmosphere is very special. The two servers are so integral to the experience as is the chef who personally brings out some of the dishes and checks in with all the tables.I meant to take more photos but when the food was in front of me, my focus was eating it!
This is an opinion from a Spanish couple. Good food and good service but I think is completely overpriced for the area. I know, this is NYC and everything is insanely expensive, but 120$ for two people with 3 beers I think is a lot.
Cozy place! We only interacted with one person from the staff - she acted as the bartender and waitress. The octopus and other food we ordered were delicious.
My girlfriend and I came all the way from Astoria to celebrate our fifth anniversary dinner here. Incredible portion sizes and quality!
Modern Spanish tapas. Not completely traditional. Very yummy. We ate everything. Lady was very nice.
Food was delicious one of the most authentic tasting Spanish food in NYC. Came to eat with my friend and although all the tables were booked we were able to sit at the bar. Sangria is perfectly balanced and tasted amazing. It’s has a cozy ambience.
What a gem of a place with amazingly authentic Catalan tapas food. I would have been entirely happy with what we ate if I was in Barcelona or Girona. The seafood seemed extremely well sourced and flavorful. The decor and service were both top notch. Excellent cocktails. Harlem is lucky to have this place.
Food was delightful setas(mushrooms) were a favorite aswell as the pulpo. Highly recommend the gin tonics they come in large bowl like glass. Took me back to being in Spain from the service to food excellent work.
Probably one of the best new Spanish restaurants in NYC, I’m from Spain and I’m not exaggerating. Excellent product, very good selected Spanish wines, cozy atmosphere... a nice surprise and hidden gem. Absolutely recommendable. Try the croquetas! They melt in your mouth.
Last night I had some of the best wine I’ve had in New York City. Proto’s was amazing. We started out with Croquetas and patatas bravas and they were Amazing! Then we had a special curated menu for the night with lobster, Scallops, tuna tartare. For dessert we had chocolate Fondant and homemade ice cream. I would not have changed a thing about the evening. Perfection!
We ordered some food yesterday for take out. The tortillas de papa were divine, exactly as you will eat them in Spain, really to die for. We ordered also paella de mariscos and paella de montaña, I personally prefer the first one, with tasty sea food and two big shrimps on top, delicious, while my partner preferred the paella de montaña, with lots of meat and chicken. To top it all, the sweet boy that served us offered also two cold sangria glasses for free on the house, just the perfect combination of a perfect Spanish meal with friendly attitude and affordable prices. I definitely recommend this place, will of course come back when this crazy Covid-19 pandemic finally comes to an end, and encourage all of you to support this lovely small restaurant in these difficult times.Ah, y como no podría haber sido de otra manera, todo en el más perfecto castellano, lo cual mejora aún más la experiencia si cabe... 😍🤩
Ive never given a five star review before but everything about this place was excellent. The service, the ambience, and of course the food! Great for a romantic date or an intimate get together with close friends.
Such a gem in Harlem. Really enjoyed their food and my time here. The service is great and I like the affordable wine bottle prices. Will come back!
Lovely ambiance - excellent foodVery enjoyable evening with excellent tapas. All dishes executed with that extra bit of passion that makes the difference between an average meal and a want to come back soon visit.
Amazing Upscale Spanish cuisine. Very quaint + lowkey for a date night. Great wine menu and $12 cocktails 😩🙌🏾
Flavor profiles are off the chart! Everything is so darn good and bursting with flavor. The Patatas Bravas (potato!) dish is sublime, rich and creamy. The croquettes are deep and bursting with flavor and the shortribs are melt in your mouth delish. I like the Paellas but I wish they would offer one that has both seafood and meat. Nom nom!
Cozy place, great service and staff. Ive had better tapas in the city but this place is still decent. Will return for the atmosphere.
Not only was the food great, but they were super accommodating when I forgot my gift card at home—they refunded my credit card and deducted the gift card the next day.
One of the best Gambas I ever had in America! This restaurant is a gem in the neighborhood :-)
Incredible meal. Compliments to Vamba for a delicious meal, well timed, and for the gallery atmosphere that really tied everything together.
It was quiet and cozy on a Thursday night. The food quality was average.
Great food beautifully presented, generous starters, super clean restrooms!
I did not like the paella. The rice felt hard and had no flavor. It did not have protein, just a few pieces of meat. The appetizer (croquettes) was OK. The Sangria is too little. Overall, it was not a good experience.
One of my fav meals in NYC.
Exceptional service. Maria was amazing and professional and very attentive!
Small portions, but delicious, a beautiful ambience, very friendly host/waiter, and just a great place 🎊
Second time in East Harlem at this beautiful restaurant! I went on Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend, and we had a great dinner. Maria service was amazing she gave us great recommendations to order and drinks were great specially the sangria .
Delicious intimate spot. Small but could host a group.
Was treated extremely rudely by waitress and manager, Maria T. I brought the love of my life (who is from Barcelona) to the restaurant and she was shocked at the treatment. Maria tossed the menus at us. When we asked politely if we could move to another open table so as not to be right by the entrance, she acted as if we had asked for her first born, complete w eye roll. She could not have made us feel less welcome. Gaudir is suppose to mean “enjoy”. Apparently, Maria didn’t get the memo. We got up and left. First time we have ever had to do that. Plenty of good Spanish restaurants. No reason to go to east 110th st to be treat in this manner. Recommend you pass on this place.
I was excited to dine in this restaurant because I love Spanish food and Mountain Bird(RIP).However,I was so disappointed.Staffs were Off vibes, didnt even say Hi when we came in.Food was mediocre or less at the best.Grilled Octopus was Zero flavor just tasted burned,Mussles on our Paella were Not fresh at all.We both had to spit it out. While enjoying appetizers, our server brought us To Go boxes which we didnt even ask for.Because Paella is coming,No space at your table.I know she didnt mean it,however it was shocking.I felt like we were told Eat Fast and Get out although we were only one group in the restaurant at 7pm.It was my first time to be served To Go boxes without asking for in my entire life. She could have asked us to take appetizers to our sharing plates,NOT To Go boxes.Restaurants lighting was too dark like haunted house and was ruining the cozy interior.EDM vibes music was not matched to cozy interior neither.I wont make a trip from Midtown all the way for this restaurant even though price tag was cheap.I loved Tasting Social Mountain bird not Tasting social GAUDir.
Great food. The gin cocktails are delicious. Pricey but worth it.
If you want authentic Spanish food - this is it! It’s a quaint hidden gem in East Harlem! Two of my favorite dishes I had were the Pulpo a la plancha & one of their specials: Tempranillo Calamari with crispy brown rice. Whatever you choose from the tapas to the paella - you can’t go wrong. The service & ambience is great. I loved their signature gin tonics. Def a place to go to more than once.
Delicious authentic Spanish food. Had the paella de mariscos. Will be back!
Good food, great service & great drinks. Best paella in NYC!
Nice hidden GEM in East Harlem. Service & food was great. Pulpo al plancha was perfectly cooked. We also got mushrooms and foie gras. The Chardlemon gin tonic came in a nice glass and the server explained that the vermouth gin tonic is great before a big meal. Great experience highly recommend.
A new Upper Upper East Side gem! Beautiful renovation of old Mountain Bird space. Easygoing but polished service. Great food at an amazing price.
UES prices in East Harlem without the quality. The rib paella for two was mostly rice and around fifty dollars.Good service but we came for the food so wont be back.
I think Restaurant week pre-fix menu would have been less A la cart.
Host was extremely rude- from the very moment me and my brother walked in
Really cute restaurant- great ambiance and delicious food. We had all tapas and it was great!
The tapas, and everything else were amazing!
Fabulous food and fabulous service. The setas were particularly spectacular.
Our dinner was delicious and the service was first rate. Will return.
The paella is truly excellent here
Some of the best tapas in NYC

Outstanding food and service
Love everything about it
The food is delicious in a cozy atmosphere.
I went there to celebrate my friends birthday. The quantity of food is not that much, but the quality is good.A place with a nice atmosphere and lots of drinks. However, there is no sake.
