Great setting, great service, and elaborate drinks!!😻 I’ve lived all around Manhattan and I’d say Eli’s can easily compete for a top 5 bar in the UES and one of the best all around among NYC’s casual bars. I can’t wait to try the food during the “day shift” and the “night shift”

I happened by this place on a Sunday evening when we were looking for a chill place to drink. First of all, I absolutely love the layout and ambiance. It is casual but nice and there are seats along the perimeter that would be great for people watching during the day (which I plan to do once its warmer out). Second of all, the cocktails are beautifully crafted. There was a nice selection, and the bartender took his time to craft them. I had the Mac and cheese croquettes as well, which were very tasty and not overly greasy or anything. Finally, this place wasnt blasting music and overall the place was at a nice volume to be able to have a conversation, which me and my husband loved. Ill definitely be back here, maybe during the day since its in my neighborhood.

Great place to hang for late night eats alone or with friends. Late night meaning most restaurants in the area during the weekday close their kitchen at 10pm, Elis kitchen is open until midnight.

Great service, the drinks are decent. Appetizers a bit pricey I think it was 14 or 17 dollars for 5 or 6 mini pigs in the blanket, guacamole and chips okay.

Pleasant place, especially in the summer with curious cocktails selection and craft beers. Friendly service, casual atmosphere, prices are moderate, nothing mind-blowing. Among UES bars this one is my favorite.

I would not recommend this place. It’s in a good location and has a nice curb appeal but our experience was nothing short of terrible. We got there and were able to order a drink but after that no one came back to us to take our order (we waited for 20 minutes and there were maybe 5 other patrons there). We even had to flag the waiter down to get our check because we were sick of waiting to order our food. In conclusion, it made sense there was basically no one there. The lack of service ruined our experience and we will not be going back. Hopefully the restaurant can take this feedback and make improvements to stay afloat..

True local spot with the best gluten free pizza I have ever had. It was so good I momentarily lost consciousness. When I came back to life I realized it wasn’t a dream and that the perfect gf pizza does in fact exist. In addition to the amazing pizza they have an excellent wine selection and everything is cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, and the casual atmosphere was unreal.

Food is fine and the selection of beers on tap is good. However, if you order beers or cider on tap you dont get a full pint and cocktails are also small in size, but the price is not. If you looking for any sort of value, then this is not the place for you. The expansion of their space due to the change in outdoor dining allowances has made the place more comfortable when it is crowded. There is one bathroom and the night I was there is was absolutely disgusting. I couldnt believe that a place that charges so much for food and drinks and clearly is looking to cater to an UES crowd would be so dirty. I hope that they are sticking to a higher standard in their kitchen.

Five stars on my first order in from Eli’s…I had delivered the Margarita pizza (probably the best quality & crispiest pizza on the UES- no joke), kale Caesar w/ grilled chicken which was decent portion and fresh/delicious, and the chicken fingers which were crispy and moist.Eli’s market is expensive. We all know this living on the UES. But he always sells high grade product. It certainly reflects in this order.I will be ordering from here again, and again, and again. Ty

Great food and drinks! Fast service too. Definitely higher priced menu for a more casual experience, so I don’t think we’d go back for food. Admittedly the quesadilla portions were absolutely pitiful for $19. It looked like an appetizer plate, definitely should work on that. Otherwise we enjoyed the meal there.

Great place to hang out: excellent beer; from sliders to burgers they have it all.And a chocolate cake beckons you, if you have room because their portions are generous.Staff friendly; but what makes it stand out is the effortless manner it can go from relaxed to hip, in ambience and clientele.

Its an absolute gem! The service is friendly but not overbearing. The food is delicious. Everything is flavored so well. The Porchetta sliders are porky and so good. I love the kale caesar salad. Dont fill up on the homemade kettle chips. The drinks are potent and its just a great place to catch up. Its casual and just the place you want near your apartment

Breakfast here can be a bit slow and disorganized on the weekends but the food is great - try the bacon, egg and cheese on brioche! Also, the food, cocktails, beer and service here at night is exceptional! This is the best place in the UES for happy hour or a low key late night drink.

Have you ever wanted crunchy but not burnt food? If you do, go to Night Shift. One reason I LOVE Night Shift is that I get to sit at the window and see everything. One time I was waiting for my food and I saw 16 boxes while waiting for chicken fingers and mozzarella stick’s. Another reason is because of the servers and the service is awesome! For example one time I was at my table about to die and I had my food in about 5 to 7 minute’s . It was so crazy! The last and best reason is that when walk in they offer water food at the same time Yep, you heard me. This is an awesome all the time because it’s so crowded because everyone likes it. So I hope you agree with me that Night Shift is the best restaurant to go to on a cold chilly night. One more thing do you know how everything is connected to Eli ‘s so is Night Shift. Go there now! ⭐⭐⭐⭐🙏HONEST REVIEW🙏⭐⭐⭐⭐It was a cold night in the city with a few friends. We made our way uptown and not being a new yorker one of my nyc buddies said lets hit this spot up they have some great local brews.. Being from Jersey I was a little ambivalent on whats called local brews. Why not, I said.. We all went into Elis night shift but on the outer door you wont see anything that indicates night shift. All youll find is a neon sign that says Elis bar or soemthing of that nature. The night shift signs youll come across all inside so dont let it confuse you...Ambience: ⭐⭐2 out of 5 stars. This is youre typical small NYC tight bar/eatery. Wooden barstools, shakey tables and cramped up eatery. Ask for a table for two, youll get a table for six, with elbows hitting you. The place tries its best to make it comfortable but its use of space is so limited that trying to be comfortable or eat comfortable would make you feel uncomfortable. Honestly I thought it was trying to hard. Not sure if this place even cares about comfort. The heat was just blaring on my face, if you have a seat in the outer area (which is still indoors) but it was so bad I had wipe my face cause it was so hot. Not a place Id be for drinks. I think they need to work on it.The decor is well, hey get some chalk boards, write a few craft drinks, make the writing look nice and were hip. Seems like this was the trend throughout the restaurant. So if this your thing, go for it. I wouldnt take a date here unless I knew she was the hipster type or someone who didnt care where we went. Now I know it isnt supposed to be classy but still, it didnt sit right with me... ⭐⭐Two stars.Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5 stars.Servers were always on point. I came in looking for a craft beer that was more of an oatmeal stout flavor and was pleasantly recommended an alternative that was a treat to my pallet. She knew exactly everything about the beer to the T. Its very rare you find someone who knows what theyre talking about when it comes to craft beer. If youve made this far into the review then you remember my mention of the heat blaring on my face, well they accommodated me for some time and turned the heat off which scored them some points but in no time it was put back on and me a few friends got hot again. No points taken cause service was pretty top notch. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars granted.Food/Drinks: ⭐⭐⭐⭐4 out of 5 stars.Heres where the review ends short and Im sorry to end it on such a cliff hanger. We tried a few appetizers from guacamole n chips to French fries and honestly it was all fresh. Unfortunately I didnt get to try their oysters or any of the seafood cause we came in late but from what Im told its usually on point. I will follow up with a full food review by next week. Drinks as I mentioned earlier were made perfectly and on point. To the owner of the establishment great job on the staff and service. This is definitely a place Ill come back to for local craft brews and Im salivating on what the rest of the food is like. Would be a perfect 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 but those heaters, elbow hitting and tables need a little work.Other than that overall:🌟🌟🌟🌟4 OUT OF 5 STARS!!! 🍻 Cheers👍

Ive been to Elis night shift and the deli and both are amazing. Im vegan and they do have two vegan sandwiches and coconut yogurt. Their coffee is so good and they have soy milk. Its so nice sitting by the open windows, sipping coffee or chatting with a friend over wine. Elis is small and simple but it is not to be overlooked. You can also go with a bigger group and they take reservations. It is a must try during the day and after work hours! We will be back many more times.

Great addition to the UES craft beer and cocktail scene. The bartenders are friendly and helpful with the drink selections. The bar bites are delicious, which also includes free chips. What I respect about the place is the love it has for New York craft beers. All the beers on tap are local beers from NY. Highly recommended if you are in the area. The only downside is that it opens at 6pm --- wish it was earlier.

By day, bakery; by night, bar.It is an amazing concept. Came here with friends and we really enjoyed the punches and cocktails. Not a super sophisticated drink menu but that is actually what makes it nice, most things where $13 or less and we loved being in a place that didnt feel stuffy. Especially because they open all the floor to ceiling windows and you get a real inside outdoor feel. The staff was amazing. Will probably be back when it gets hotter and you want to sit inside with a nice glass of punch.Only con: not a very imaginative menu but everything they served was very good.

I absolutely love the macaroons here, havent tried much else cause I kept ordering the same thing - pistachio macaroon and coffee macaroon are worth trying (4.50 each and theyre pretty big). I was surprised to see that the same sized macaroon is much pricier at a nearby branch that seems to be owned by the same chain, not sure why that is the case

If I could give this place less than one star, I would. I consider myself pretty normal when it comes to drink requests. Light domestic beer (bud light, coors light, miller lite) and top shelf liquor (Jameson, Grey Goose, Patron) arent things that should be difficult to find at a bar. Well, apparently, they are here. Not only do they not have regular types of beer and alcohol, but if you ask for either of these things, the bartender and surrounding patrons will be rude to you.Terrible place, 100% NOT recommended.
