This was such a fun place. While it is a bit loud, the vibe is amazing. They had a DJ in Saturday night, and he played great music. The food was way better than bar food. I had the fried chicken sandwich, and my husband had the chicken and waffles and Brussels sprouts. We will for sure return!
I was in Harlem for an event on Saturday so I decided to stop by just for cocktails and tapas. The ambience was great 10/10. Noise level 8/10. Service 10/10. However, I was really disappointed with the food and beverage 3/10. The food lacked seasoning, it was very bland to the point that the only thing I ate was the french fries I ordered a mango Margarita that was utterly disgusting. It seems like they just poured drink in a glass with ice and added a dash of tequila. That was very upsetting to me because I was looking forward to something tasty to wake up my taste buds. I most likely will not return.
The atmosphere is a bar/club but the food is way better than that. I loved the vibe, music, and the food. The only downside was my Mamas Chicken sandwich; I wished the chicken was an actual thick juicy fried chicken breast sandwich but instead is a pounded out thin piece which made it very dry. My wifes curry rice, chicken dish however, was very good as was my lobster bisque. The DJ was great and played some great dance music.
Corner social is a nice vibe! We went there on a whim for Saturday brunch around 12:30pm. There was already quite a few people there, but we were seated immediately without a reservation. You can order from the brunch menu or appetizers from the regular menu. They have a nice selection. We ordered the burrito and chicken & waffles. The burrito was pretty good, could have been seasoned a bit more. The chicken & waffles were good. The chicken was well seasoned and the waffles were soft. The mimosas were $25 for a bottle (they mix it in advance) or $9 for individual mimosas. They were pretty strong! Definitely got the job done. Everything came out quickly and the service was good. The dj played a mix of r&b music and was interactive with the guests. He even does a free drink on the hour. I’d definitely return.
While back in the area visiting friends, we ended up going to dinner here - my friend has been to this spot many times and I get why.Got there around 6 something on a Saturday and got a table pretty quickly which was great because the place was definitely full of people but not too crowded. The vibes were good with the decor, lighting and music the DJ was playing. Our waiter immediately came over to check & take our drink orders. I got the Harlem Love Punch and my friend got The Golden Goose. Both drinks were really good offering different tastes of course - the punch was on the sweet side but not too sweet & well mixed, while the golden goose gave a more refreshing feeling after taking a sip. Throughout the entire dining experience, he was polite and checked in an appropriate amount of times. Their menu looked great and had so many options I wanted to try, it was hard for me to pick one lol. My friend got the Burger. Since it was my first time there and she said the burgers are good, I played it a bit safe while still getting something I felt would be tasty, filling and slightly different - the Lamb Burger w/ Sweet Potato Fries.Definitely recommend checking them out and I for sure want to go back when Im back in town.
Corner Social is always a vibe. The food is good the music is good and I like the area. Its great to go before you head out to a lounge or before the Shrine 🌚 I do wish there was a dance floor though just to separate everyone dancing
Corner Social is such a gem in the neighborhood.I went during Saturday Brunch so they had a DJ. They had an interactive “name that song” game with a free drink as a prize.Great ambiance. The staff was incredibly attentive. Our server was Genesis. Another employee, Jeritza, was walking around with her beautiful head of curls, checking in on every party. Just making sure that everything was okay. This touch set Corner Social apart in my mind.On to the food-I ordered the Chicken Bacon Waffle - the chicken was juicy, well seasoned and the bacon was crispy. The waffle could use some work. It was very soft but still tasted good.My friend ordered the steak and eggs. She ate it but noted that the steak was chewy, the eggs had too much moisture and the bread was the best part of the dish due to the butter. The mimosa bottle was large enough for multiple servings for 2 people and tasted great.I highly recommend corner social. It is a good spot to socialize, have some nice drinks and good food.
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance during a tour of interesting places in the area, and we were delighted we did. The atmosphere is truly, truly, truly wonderful and welcoming, the staff are friendly, and the food is excellent, all at reasonable prices. The dining experience, with its commitment to the environment and fun vibe, was outstanding. We highly recommend it. We tried both the brunch and dessert, and both were simply fantastic.
Went with a friend for happy hour. The drinks and food were good, they do allow for a few substitutions with your order. Only thing that sucked was they do not take Apple pay or GPay, so can or card only.
The vibe to the food is really good.Always ordering something different off the menu every time I go. Only thing is sometimes on some days I guess it is a bit of a wait. I had brunch and on another girls night out had some dinner
We waited about 45 minutes at the bar for a table. On this particular Sunday (not sure if this is the norm) the tables were all reserved and we were informed that they hold tables for 15 minutes after calling the party. We were added to the waiting list and eventually a table became available. The food was good (had wings (dry rub) and a Caesar Salad). My recommendation would be to make reservations in advance. It was busy this Sunday and they also had a live DJ, really nice spot in Harlem.
The fried chicken and waffles were fried perfectly. The flavor was perfect. The cutlet and the crust were both seasoned well. The mac and cheese was also tasty but soupy and artificial. The jerk chicken wings were delicious. I do not recommend the crab cakes as they were small and not filled with lump meat, instead tuna like meat.
The mussels with garlic bread are a must! I like going early, the later it gets, the more “Club” it becomes. They have great DJ’s. They check bags and do pat downs after a certain time. I will update with pics next time I go 😊 They make a good “martini with a twist”
Loved the food and vibes here. Service was nice too. Can be quite loud inside though. Sit outside if you don’t want to yell to talk
The margarita pizza was okay the fries sounded better than taste. The onions were mid raw, the steak meat was barely none and tasted different. The cheese sauce was okay if you like fluffy and mac and cheese boxed sauce.Food: $16+ $17 not bad but wish the food was more enjoyable.Service: Great service our server was kind and the busers even were very helpful.Atmosphere: Can be a calm night depending on the time and day. We arrived on a Friday night around 10pm by 11 the bar stools were removed to invite more people into the restaurant. The DJ played some old school hip hop and dancehall LOVE IT! DJ was my highlight this is not my first time here its been some months visiting.
My adult children invited me out for dinner and they chose this location. Decorations are beautiful, the music was great. They even had a DJ. Covid protocol are followed and service was quick and pleasant. Will definitely come back again.
Love this place. I have been coming here for a few years now. Food is delicious and price even better. Service on point! DJ knows which music to play💃🕺
Non stop Harlem vibes everyday into the night (dj starts at 8:30ish).The menu has recently been updated; try the braised lamb shank or the lobster bisque, my favorites. Cesar and John will take care of you at the bar with expertly crafted mixed drinks.Sunday brunch is a big hit so please be sure to make reservations.Men, on Fridays and Saturdays after 9pm, be prepared to pay a small cover charge to get in. It will be worth it as plenty of well dressed ladies frequent this place just before midnight.Try Corner Social because Harlem is a vibe
The food was okay. The server is a bit overbearing. He wasn’t listening when we said we didn’t want the appetizer (shrimp not pictured) yet it appeared moments later. While it was good we could have done without it.The penne vodka with shrimp ($10 more for shrimp) had only 4 shrimp. A bit pricey for only 4. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce pretty good.Music was great.Covid protocols in place with plastic tables separators.
On nice Harlem night this place is where you should be . Eat good food and listen to great music 🎶… this vibes are dope .Today 12/29/2024It was chill night, I came here to ‘Corner Social’, thought I was going to have a great and the lounge owner assaulted me, over me moving a chair so I’ll have a place to rest my jacket being well had jackets . No place to check a coat the staff was rude 100%.. Has to call the police on
Food was excellent the music was great just dont get a seat by the door when its cold because you will feel it every time the door opens other than that excellent place to visit
Good atmosphere, good food, and great music. White Sangria was good; however, you will save money if you purchase a pitcher compared to a single glass. The service is okay especially if they are busy. We had to wait over 20mins to order another drink at our table. We had a good time listening to a variety of music.
Fun spot with great music and extensive menu. Drinks are strong, but taste a bit like what I used to make in my college dorm - could use some refinement.
Corner Social is the place to go for just about everything youre looking for. Dont sleep on their food menu- everything is cooked fresh daily. Good drinks, a fun atmosphere and a dance floor wherever you happen to stand, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Im local to the neighborhood and frequent here every week.
Food - Great: The Argentina empanadas were quite tasty and seasoned very well. The baby back ribs fell of the bone and you could tell they flavored and spiced their bbq sauce - Yes Chef! Sweet plantain size could be smaller and thinner, which would add to texture.Service - Below Average: I was a little thrown off by the full pat down search by the door at 9pm on a Thursday for dinner. It took over 15 minutes for my server to notice me sitting outside and then over 15 minutes to receive my gin and tonic. Server with conroes and bottom half of his head shaved handed me the bill without a thank you or any words or eye contact at all, let’s train this young man ASAP please!Overall - Recommend. While a lot of people come for the amazing trendy music and urban crowd, I wouldn’t sleep on the food. The food was the highlight of my experience and review. It’s worthy of it’s location across the street from the greats. If in uptown, Corner Social is a NYC destination!
Good food, good service, good atmosphere, and an excellent price above all 👌🏼 A cozy place with an outdoor option but with good protection, I ordered these two dishes and the truth was all very delicious💯
Great service and great food. Definitely recommend coming here if your looking for a good meal.
Came here for brunch after New Years around 1:00. They had a DJ who was playing a variety of music, new school old school. We wound up sitting at the bar because we couldnt get seated until our entire party was here and we practically stayed at the bar. I had the steak and eggs with french fries. Considering we stayed for like 6 hours I wind up ordering dinner as well and I had the chicken penne vodka. Both dishes were great. I ordered a drink that is not typically known, a French 125 and the bartender looked up the recipe and made it for me! I appreciated that!
Banging brunch!!! Although you pay separately for your unlimited drinks and your meals, I had an amazing time. The DJ is the bomb!!!! I was dancing from beginning til the end literally. If you want mimosas thats an additional $25 on top of your meal and if you want to switch between mimosas, rum punch and sangrias thats an additional $35
Popped in on a rainy day during happy hour and really enjoyed it. Great service, good drinks and I enjoyed the drunken fries.
Nice place, excellent customer service! The music was nice, but theres room for improvement with the food, the fries were perfect, the Memphis dry rub wings werent bad, however the Angus burger was a disappointment! I requested my burger to be medium and I received a well done burger, I was only able to eat 1/4 of the burger. I also ordered a Strawberry Froze drink, it arrived with liquid on the bottom and partially frozen at the top, i pointed it out to the waiter and his response was oh thats the liquor on the bottom the drink tasted like medicine, I took a few sips and left the rest.
The atmosphere is cool the presentation of school even the way the food looks: cool. Was just the whole thing was Bland. I got the mussels and the lamb burger and honestly I was soo disappointed. This is my first ever review so you can tell I definitely didnt like the food but the people are nice and I like the drinks I wouldnt suggest food though
Good looked good on tik tok……! Arrived folks were rude from the jump, especially the hostess! MUSIC WAS TOO LOUD !
Ambience and DJ was great. Food and Drinks pricey but ok I had pan seared salmon it was not that great but cost 30 bucks. I was in NY from Dallas Tx.
I havent been here in a while, no wait (surprisingly). Music was way too loud for a non club environment I could barely hear the hostess, so I had to read her lips. Jerk wings, calamari was delicious. We ordered tenders that do not come w fries. Smh. The crab cake entree was the worst Ive had in years. Way too much stuffing and peppers not enough crab, disappointed. The rice pilaf was bland as water. I was really disappointed this time. I dont like gratuity being added for 3ppl, esp when server was MIA half the time he was working a few tables too many.
Dope Neo-Soul food spot. Authentic Harlem feel. DJ played a dope mix of 90s hip-hop & R&B . Food was banging. I had the shrimp & grits
1 star only because the music was great.I order the shrimp linguine with “tiger shrimp”. The food comes and there are baby shrimp in my plate. You know, the small teeeny tiny frozen shrimp from the supermarket ? Yeah those. Nothing tiger about it. I asked to speak to the manager and he insists that they were tiger shrimp because of the stripes. ( even if they scientifically are because of the stripes, nobody recognizes those baby frozen shrimp from the supermarket as tiger shrimp. They we’re trying to make it sound like some kind of delicacy I guess. ) The pasta over-all tasted like a frozen lean cuisine which it probably was. The food is clearly frozen food that they just warm up. It’s the type of food that you eat and are 100 percent you’re going to be sick after so now your nauseated for the rest of the night.
Angel took excellent care of me and my girlfriends Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. We really loved the vibe here. We ordered drinks at the bar and found out you have to order an app when you order a bottle of prosecco. We got the calamari and it was perfect to snack on for the four of us. The calamari had a light, crispy breading seasoned well with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. I also had the lychee martini and it was delicious. Corner Social requires you to be vaccinated to enter so I really enjoyed my time here feeling a little safer.
Ive been here twice & each time was fantastic. The drinks 🍸 are awesome 👌 the food was great the service was spot on. I will make this place my go-to spot. Be sure to make reservations so that way you can have a good spot. The food & drinks quality and quantity is perfect. You get your moneys worth.
Salad was great. Lamb grilled to perfection.Music makes you want to dance
I went out with my friend to have drinks and food. While eating, a roach came out on the side by me and was like hello I want to eat too. I mentioned it to the waiter there was a roach on the wall near me. He swatted at it and almost got it on me it got on my purse. He said its okay; its nothing I asked for the manager. The manager said oh, it happens because of upstairs. Either way, it was disgusting, and if that is there, I dont want to imagine what the kitchen looks like. He gave a 50% discount off the total price, but their attitude about the whole thing was that they did not care. Never again. I suggest you dont go there. The music Dj was jamming.
The service was excellent! We ordered and had our food within 20 minutes! The atmosphere is very relaxing. The food was delicious! Friendly staff!
No one needs club music at 4PM. Also, the soda tasted like the lines hadn’t been cleaned in years. The service was fine, but the server didn’t know which beers were even in stock so I had to order three before he didn’t have to come back asking for a new order.
Went to the Apollo theater and ran across this gem. Vibe is nice. People nice. Service is fast. They don’t charge for entry and prices are reasonable. I will come back when in town.
Overall its a great vibe. There is great food and a great vibe. Tends to get fairly crowded though and can spill a lot of drinks that are a bit pricey as well.
This place is popular during the daytime and night. Great old soul Hip-Hop and R&B beats. Great place to mingle and meet beautiful people
I had a very pleasant experience at Corner Social, the music was amazing, not too loud, I was able to have conversations with my friends without shouting. For appetizer, I had the chicken spring rolls, very interesting taste and different but very delicious, would order a second time. For Entries, I ordered the salmon with mash potatoes. The meal was delicious, well seasoned, interms of appearance, compared to others my plate was very colorless, I think I ate maybe 3 small cherry tomatoes and 2 broccoli lol the portion size very small but it was very delicious. If you skipped lunch and youre hungry, dont order but want something not hearty, then order. Overall, my experience was great. Would definitely visit to try the rest of the menu
The food was absolutely delicious! The lamb lollipops were my fave. Music was a vibe, a bit loud, but not overpowering. The only issue I had was the host. I’m not sure if she just wasn’t having a good day or something, but her attitude from the minute I walked in was disgusting. Then when she walked me to my table, as I was walking to sit, she didn’t step aside to let me go so we ended up bumping into each other & I’ve never been to a restaurant where I’m getting bumped by the host. At that point I had to find out her name & I think someone should give Deana a lesson on hostess etiquette.
Im from Milwaukee and this was my first stop on Sunday! What a time! We were greeted with a smile upon entering-That goes a long way in service these days. The waitress was warm and inviting, helpful, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere and music was great! Lets talk food! Fresh, hot, boasting with flavor! There was an all around great vibe and energy throughout the establishment. The manager on duty that day, I believe his name was Craig, please forgive me if Im wrong. He has been with the company for over 6 years and he believes in the brand. You all have the right man for the job! Personable, knowledge, great customer service, and attentive to detail. Corner Social is the place to be especially for brunch! To be in a restaurant with great food, drinks, music, staff, and patrons-ALL A VIBE! This place has great energy!
My husband and I arrived in town today and googled a place for lunch. The Corner Social popped up ad it was close to our hotel. We took the short walk and was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing. I had chicken and waffles while my husband had wings. The Memphis rubbed wings were fire! The chicken and waffles were equally as good. Great service and the atmosphere was a vibe. I highly recommend this establishment.
The calamari it was ok. The penne Ala vodka and the linguini shrimp and mussels are amazing. The price is higher than I expected $ 185 for 2 people .
The space is impossible move through. There is NO flow. Its incredibly difficult to get to the bar or the bathroom or the front door without bumping into EVERYONE everywhere all at once. This place is BAR RESCUE episode waiting to happen. Theres potential but its always so chaotic and with no method to the madness to get served if youre not at a table.
I was looking forward to a night out with friends and we decided to try out a new bar that’s nearby. Excited to kick back and enjoy some quality drinks, I ordered my favorite cocktail, a Patron margarita. The first sip seemed off, but I brushed it off as a new bartenders mistake. However, as I continued to drink, I couldnt shake the feeling that something was wrong.Im a fan of top-shelf tequila, and I could tell right away that the second margarita I was served did not have the smooth, rich taste of a high-quality spirit. It was evident that the bar was trying to pass off a cheap, low-grade tequila as a premium brand. Disappointed, I mentioned my concerns to the waiter, but instead of addressing the issue, I was met with dismissiveness.
Absolutely loved this spot. The food was good the drinks strong and the DJ was DJing lol.
Nice spot music popping drinks was good food was nasty the chicken. Was not cooked well but overall I love this place
This place was Vibrant and had super tasty drinks. Our server was cool, chic and super fast. Great food and drink
Had pasta the sauce was watery to me and could have been more creamy, the henny colada’s was just a colada had no taste of henny at all . I also got two more drinks me and a friend hers were better than mine but they both in all was still not a good drinks. The food was VERY COSTLY for the amount you get also they automatically charge gratuity , which I feel they should let that be known before . Aside from that the ambiance and music was good for the most part , but I wouldn’t come back here or recommend to anyone.
Perfect service, delicious food. The music is loud in the late afternoon as well but we enjoyed it. The dj was great.
Not a big person or clubs but this one is great, I had fun. The drinks are perfect and the service wonderful. Its a small place but great to go and enjoy your evening
Food was good. They just have to correct the menu. Online was a different menu then the one at restaurant.
Went there last night and it was very loud even outside.Service is a bit lacking cause understaffed. However our waiter was very nice and very efficient.Food quality is good. The calamari salad is good and sweet potatoes as well.Got an espresso martini and it was ok.It’s definitely overpriced !
The music was a little loud which Im starting to accept and l guess its just a Harlem thing. I didnt have to shout though like a Harlem Tavern. If you want a little more quiet. The Halloween decorations were really whimsical and entertaining. The staff was affable and the food was absolutely next level. You must have the lamb shank this winter dont thank me later. Absolutely Divine Im not the least bit gamey as lamb poorly prepared can often be. Mashed potatoes are wonderful! And their truffle fries are just right.
My Family & I stumbled upon Corner Social on our way to another destination. We arrived during Happy Hour & ordered the Harlem Love Punch, Spinach Dip & Chicken & Waffles & Lamb Burger. Loved the spinach dip & drinks. The rest of the food was good but couldve been seasoned better for flavor. Nice food presentation, service & atmosphere. We enjoyed ourselves!
I really like this spot, I had the calamari, and I had the cocktail the lion it was a little bit expensive it was $14 and it wasnt that strong in alcohol for that price, but I order an extra shot, but I really love the atmosphere and the music was on point
I have been to the corner social a few times over the years. Whether it be for brunch or dinner, I always enjoy the food. The Lobster Ravioli is my favorite on the menu. I have heard my friends complain about the prefixed group menu price, and how they were cheated out of some money, but I can only lean on my experience. Nice!
Good food, service and atmosphere. Plenty of patio seating for beautiful days.
Id like to give this place 4 stars because the food is good and so is the service. But $20 for a cheeseburger? Cmon.
Burrito was okay, but potatoes were cold, this was corrected once the server was informed. Someone had the chicken and waffles, they stated that the chicken breast was fried hard and cold. They had ordered coffee and the server never came to ask if they wanted a refill. Weve eaten dinner here and it was delicious, but they need to do some work on serving Brunch.
Today was my first time having dinner at Corner Social and my overall experience was pleasant.I ordered the salmon at a medium cook which was paired with mashed potatoes, broccoli, and cherry tomatoes…AMAZING!The music was a bit loud but the service was great…. Except for the waiter wearing the Jean apron who was inattentive and seemed to purposely ignore me while trying to get his attention. He was clearly having a bad day or does not embody customer service like the rest of his team.
I absolutely loved the vibe, the atmosphere is electrifying! Everyone down to the people who clear the tables are nice, welcoming, smiling, just everything!
I use to love to go here for food, drinks & the music. Since the out break of the Coronavirus in NY, the food and drinks was not that good at all.Sept. 21, 2024 I am going again this year. I will give an update after my Birthday celebration visit tonight>
My rating is based solely on being there on a Friday night and only seeing dudes inside. The vibe wasnt a party environment which I was looking for. It was more laid back.I cannot comment on the food or anything else.
My husband came here last minute because it was close to an event we had just finished and boy am I glad we came. The music, atmosphere, and FOOD was great! 10/10 recommend. I am a meat eater but the black bean veggie burger called my attention and it exceeded my expectations.
Had a great time. DJ was awesome! Food good 👌
Had dinner and drinks on a weekend here with a friend and we both loved the food and drinks. I especially love the sirloin steak with huge taters! Have ordered online several times and the quality is ALWAYS exceptional. Give Corner Social a try and find what you will love.
Love the food. The atmosphere is great. The DJ be lit and the people are beautiful..great place to chill
It was my first time very nice ,food was good I really enjoy the wine .I definitely be going back .staff was wonderful
Its a small place with big energy. The staff is super friendly and nice. There was a live DJ playing good music. I was there for Saturday brunch. I had the steak and eggs. He had the chicken and waffles. The food was great. Every bite full of great flavor. Especially the chicken. Best chicken Ive had in years. We had classic mojitos. The bartender was definitely heavy handed with the run but not something that would take away from the review. Most people would probably like a boozy drink. All around a really good experience.
Great food beautifully presented with excellent service and a decent selection of beer. The lamb burger is amazing!
Very cool environment, atmosphere, and great drinks, pricey, but great! Downside though is it offers very little vegetation or vegan options.
Food and drinks were good. Staff friendly and helpful. Love the vibe. Live DJ was good. I’d eat again and recommend.
The food and drinks here were very good. The brunch menu has pretty good variety. The service was good for the most part, maybe the only criticism is that they were a little slow clearing the table of unused stuff at times but thats minute. The music is very good and sets a good atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean.
Was in the area at night and decide to stop in their late night lounge type situation to grab a drink. So, did not dine here. The place was full of bar goers, live DJ and merriment. Grabbed a whisker with ginger and a rum with coke. Probably the worst Ive gotten in a while. The house liquor was horrifying. The music was cool. Stayed for about an hour and left. Its not a place Id visit again, but Im sure its okay for others. Giving it a 3.3 for the afternoon hour drinking social only. The bartender was nice.
Our waiter was really good . We had a large group of 18 and he was really good accommodating all of us . The food was great but portions was small for the price of the lobster ravioli.there was no complaints about the dishes enjoy got .
Great brunch although alot of what on menu doesnt exsit and management/ owners havent made update. At first I was very annoyed bc I went on the website and drove 1.5 hours to get there so someone needs to make updates to the website
I gave it 3-stars, because they can put more seasoning on the food. We started off with the lamb chops lollipop and it was good however they can definitely use more seasoning. Everyone at the table said the same thing, the food is good however it lacks in seasoning. The service was absolutely amazing, everyone was nice. I absolutely love the ambiance cute and small.
First time here & will definitely return. Came on a packed Friday night and the staff was pleasant. Our server Francisco was attentive and gave great recommendations. Food was good; Calamari needed to be crispier. DJ was on point!
Lamb burger was amazingggggJose O was an amazing and attentive server. Very accommodating! The music is always a good vibe 👌🏾
Second time here food was delicious like the first visit . The lamb chops were tasty. I had a uptown baby for a drink
Friendly atmosphere. Food was a little salty but nevertheless tasty. I had the red snapper with mashed potato and spinach
I give this space a solid 4. It has its own vibe. Good crowd but not overwhelming. Food was great. Food we tried: penne, lobster ravioli, spinach dip, calamari, Mac n cheese. Drinks were average. Staff friendly. We lucked out in getting a table. Overall a good time.
Amazing food and drinks too. The DJ adds another layer of flavor to a very unique place. I was there with a big group, and they did the best to serve us. Food and drinks were slow to come due to staffing issues, however the manager did his best by offering complementary drinks. Best way to keep your customers happy.
Friday night DJ captures the essence of Harlem old skool and current music. This place is a great water hole and extremely festive.i highly recommend arriving before midnight. After midnight there is a $10 cover.
Stopped here for a drink during happy hour. Nice cocktails and atmosphere.
Had so much fun here first time around. Definitely want to go back, outside seating was great and the service was amazing. Did came to the table at a pretty good time. 8/10 for me
The staff does not respond to the customers needs. They are focused on whatever they want to do. I asked 2 people for something, and they both ignored the request. The wait staff did not come around to check in on what was needed. The team needs to be more customer focused instead of just doing the bare minimum.
Cool little spot. I always go after work when its been a stressful day and get a table by myself because its very laid back. Outdoor seating. I wouldnt go for a date night or a celebration but its cool to go grab a bite in your neighborhood
Great customer services. Excellent food. Beautiful atmosphere. Definitely recommended
Was just here yesterday 10/13/17. Had a wonderful experience at this excellent establishment! Friendly staff, very welcoming and attentive! The crowd was mixed, the food was spot on, the drinks were super strong and their Happy Hour was on point!I’ll definitely be returning! I’m a very satisfied customer, and highly recommend The Corner Social!
Sigh 3 stars is not reflective of the restaurant but of my experience for that dinner.Food was delicious, pretty good white sangria, place clean + beautiful, music good... would definitely go back!Problem was my waiter and the check. He was soooooo slow and absent. Saw him once when we got our waters 15mins after being seated, then to bring the food menu (no drink menu provided), then to take orders, then to bring the food, then to bring a wrong check with 20% gratuity added. Thats it. No water refills, no asking if everything is OK, no asking about drinks, and then a check with extra appetizers and a 20% tip! The waiter at a nearby table was far more helpful and it would be a 5 star review if he was responsible for us. He was the one who brought the right check to us (still with 20% tip) because our waiter did not come back until I put my card on the check.Would definitely go back and sit in a different section, Im sure I can update this review then to a higher rating.
I would give it a 3.5. I went to brunch on my birthday..Personable staff, nice atmosphere. There was a live DJ...music just a little loud if you want to have a conversation. Large portions but the food was just ok, it was missing something. I had the spinach dip....definitely had better. I had the steak and eggs. Waiter missed my side of bacon as well. I asked for well done but it was a little burnt. My friends nachos was tasty and a huge plate. I would use a different type of chip for nachos and spinach dip. Also tasted the shrimp and grits, it was also missing something. They did play Happy Birthday for me and the DJ gave me a shout out which was cool.
Corner Social isnt a bad spot. In the heart of Harlem things can get a bit cramped but the spot makes the most use of the space it offers. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices though lean toward the high side. My Sangria was on point but my brunch dish could have been better. I didnt expect chicken cutlets with my chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was kinda dry and tasteless. I would have preferred pieces on the bone or even tenders. It wasnt horrible but disappointing. Overall its still a cool place to grab a bite.
I have been there many times by myself and and with different size groups. The reason we keep coming back is the ambience of the place, it always has a really nice vibe. Please be aware the security outside are enforcing dress code, you definitely wanna make sure you’re in it otherwise your night will be ruined. I can say that the service has been consistent for the volume of the bar, the service is okay. Cocktails are pretty nice and the food is good as well.
This was my first time eating at the Corner Social. I ordered the Harlem Goddess salad, calamari appetizer and to wash it all down the Golden Goose. let me say it was the best salad Ive had in a long time, the calamari was cooked to perfection !!!!!! The Drink was watered down but good.I will absolutely being coming again!!
Great place! Eight of us went for dinner and drinks for a girls night out. Everyone had something different and all of it was amazing! I loved the shrimp maccaroni & cheese with spinach and mushrooms. The portions are large & reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere. Service was great! The manager even bought our table a round of shots because we tipped above the norm. Had a DJ that was great! Cant wait to go back!
The food was excellent served on time, atmosphere relaxing and sociable. I enjoyed the live DJ.
Came here to celebrate a bday and I will definitely go back. The food was good although the portions were very small. A very cute lounge however it can get packed. The music was good and out waiter Angel was the best!
Food was great portions were amazing just wish the food had a little more flavor more seasoning but I wouldn’t take a star off for that. Love it
Atmosphere very inviting with indoor as well as outdoor seating. Ambiance very classy grown and sexy adult over 30 crowd. Enjoy restaurant week menu and options pricing affordable. Service was exceptional and very much appreciated. Will be returning before good weather ends.
Seating took forever and seemed disorganized in terms of order. Fish (not salmon) smelled VERY fishy and didnt really taste great. Waitress was great. DJ was great. Drinks waitress made was great. Would probably go back. Didnt pick up phone all day to make a reservation and you cant make an evening reservation online.
This is absolutely a local hang out spot in Harlem. The place is always packed on the weekends and depending on how you feel, it can be a good or not so good thing. You will see the same faces their but it brings a vibe of acceptable familiarity. The music is always great and the drinks are priced moderately. The food is descent but nothing to rave about. Make your life simple...order fries and wings! The staff is always rushing but its because if the volume of guests and limited walking space...its tight up in there, but mainly on weekend nights. Are you going to have a good time there...yes but be prepare to bump into everyone.. all the time
I was mid-conversation, drinking an old fashioned with my date when the food appears in record time but not only did the food get to us fast, the food was great! One would assume that flavor would be lost with how quickly it was made, but that was not the case here. Corner social is great for dates or a quick bite before heading over to the Magic Johnson Theater for a movie.- Alex
The food still sub par after 8 years.. drinks are good and good music and people.. food needs to be better
Im a bit aged out of the bar scene so standing around, looking at each other over loud music isnt my thing anymore. I stood too close to the VIP section which was about 8 square feet of blocked area and the security dude got his panties in a bunch. Ill try it again during brunch time. Cool vibe though.
Exceptional! The food was amazing and came out quicker than I expected. Only thing is that I wish I had more ravioli, otherwise it was great. I also had a virgin strawberry daiquiri and that was super good.
This place is definitely a vibe. The staff are attentive and helpful. The music is great! If youre going to hang out, youll have a great time. However, the food isnt good at all and the drinks are hit and miss.
Great vibe. Professional staff. Very attentive.
Great curb appeal-the spot has good drinks. They are well balanced and made with intention. The strawberry martini was tart, sweet and the purée was fantastic. The bartenders are interactive and friendly. Wanted food but the kitchen was closed-that is on me. I plan on visiting again to try their dinner menu.
Food was great! Music was popping! Drinks were every thing!!
Amazing on a Friday or Saturday night. Also Happy Hour has great deals on food and drinks
The atmosphere is as the name says. Lots of good energy/vibes from the person who greeted us at the door. Music was up-to-date and enjoyable if you like todays music. The drink I had was amazing I would go back for that ANYTIME! Now for the meal I had steak with carmelized onions and mushrooms, scrambled eggs and french fries. I asked for medium well my friend asked for well, when the server came out he had no idea which was which but it didnt matter because they were both well done anyway, he came out with french fries which I asked for home fries and was not given the choice to opt out if the french fries they were just given to me, my friend said no mushrooms and she got mushrooms, my eggs came out the cheese was not melted at all and my eggs were not hot enough to even attempt to melt it. Sooo all this to say I gave 3 stars because of the food.
Due to a private event at the restaurant I intended to visit, I was pointed to Corner Social for an open air summertime lunch. Ive always seen patrons hanging out here and to tell the truth from outside you cant really tell how nice this place and the staff truly are.The food was spot on from a presentation and taste standpoint. My table was graced with a beautiful and fresh Cobb Salad and an awesome Bacon Cheeseburger. This place looks like an awesome place to visit at night when the crowds come in and the music gets turned up a bit. I look forward to a future visit.
I Thoroughly enjoyed my food, the service, Everything!!! I shared the crab cake and 2 eggs any style (Over Medium) I had the Chicken and waffles and they were Amazing! My friend had the shrimp and grits which were so creamy and delicious! Will definitely go again!!!
The food was okay, and the music great however when it comes to their POS system and how they calculate/split checks I do not like. So be prepared for one person to pay for it all one. Also the manager helped us more than our server
Service is Slow and needs to be worked on because wait staff is fun, friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are Amazing and worth the wait! Music is on point!! Lively and fun place to spend time with family and friends. Check them out!
Tony was our server and he gave us an amazing experience! We were in town from Chicago and our food to his service was outstanding! The burger was amongst one of the best I’ve ever had. I just wish their drink portions for the mimosas were slightly bigger though. Besides that, I still give them five stars.
Great place for either a date night or night out with friends. Considering it was a Friday night when we went there was a bit of a wait and they may have been a little understaffed. The Penne alla vodka was flavorful, hot, and a good size portion. Live DJ playing R&B (probably changes from night to night) made the dining experience even better. Indoor and outdoor dining options available but depending on the time of day dining outdoors can get loud especially in that area.
The food was ok but the service wasnt great. I had the chicken and waffles. Its not a large portion. It had three small pieces of chicken. The hostess rushed our party. I felt the hostess should have told my party that our booth was reserved before we were seated. Instead she told us later. Luckily, we had paid the bill and was leaving. Unsure when I will return.
Great spot, love the food it was very tasteful and drinks were on point as well. The atmosphere is very cool with great throwback music. It can get crowded and cluttered but on the weekdays its good.Divine the hosted was awesome and friendly made sure we got seated right away and even let us choose our table that was available near the window instead of sitting us in the center where we was originally suppose to sit - that was a super plus. A++Our server was friendly and down to earth as well. Our food was great. The lamb chops were very good enjoyed them, chicken avocado sandwich was great not dry at all, chicken quesadillas had flavor as well. Overall was great I was satisfied. For the first time going I was truly impressed honestly. Had a great time.
Always a fun time when I come here. Food never disappoints, DJ never disappoints, management and service is so friendly and professional and they played my latest single on Spotify. They know how to treat their guest. Great place good times.
The meal and atmosphere were both fine, but the service was very slow and not responsive. We waited a long time to receive drinks, have our orders taken, receive the check, pretty much everything. For a small place, they should be able to manage this better. We had to wait 20 minutes for the new bill to come through. I wasnt too impressed about that. Other than that, the place is lovely.
Unorganized.. unprofessional to begin! I’m going to blame it on poor management possibly. None the less, only come here if you have time to waste. I wish I could comment on the food but I never made it that far. 11 pm on a Tuesday night at that ! We were told (party of 2) that we would sit down and be able to eat off the dinner menu as the bar menu would be in affect at 12am. The Hostess appears to have 3 jobs (and there is only one hostess): distribute take out orders, seat, and complete bill payments. 20 minutes pass and then we have to stand by patiently watching 3 empty tables look at us for another 20MINUTES before we are finally seated. Imagine our frustration when we are now told after being seated ANOTHER 10 minutes before the rude waitress FINALLY comes over and tells us we can only order from the bar menu now. Signed, Hungry and angry.Thank you but no thank you Social Corner, I will not waste time at this establishment again.
Best service I’ve had at a restaurant anywhere anytime in a very long time. Food was delicious. Having the range to deal with a lit brunch AND multiple elderly folks is extremely impressive.
The penne vodka with shrimp is good . The drinks are decent but this place attracts a very noisy crowd.. It has music and the place should lend itself to a more grown & sexy vibe but it ends up becoming a college party really quickly... The place is always crammed with people to the point where people are hovered over your tables. The clientele is a bit unpolished, and its service is extremely slow due to the crowds, distracted wait staff and the music being way too loud and overpowering. Its not a nightclub, its a bar & grill but the music needs to tone down a bit. A daytime visit is the best option...
I’ll start by saying that the music and drinks were great, which is why this isn’t getting 1 Star. My boyfriend and I went to Corner Social for brunch, and after getting halfway through our meals we were asked to move to the other side of the restaurant. I have never been asked to move after already being seated and served. We didn’t get the full 1.5 hours of bottomless mimosas as promised. The hostess was extremely rude. While we were finishing our mimosas, the hostess came up to our table and told us that we need to leave. I noticed that no one else was asked to leave or forced to switch tables in order to accommodate other guests. We were there for less than 1.5 hours. I recommend going to another restaurant for brunch where you can get cheaper bottomless mimosas, good food and a kind staff.
Five Stars for this business considering the communication to get the reservation and the dining experience. To celebrate my friends birthday we wanted a brunch party environment and we searched a few places in the city and the stipulations were all over the top and a complete turn off. We were familiar with the Corner Social having been to other restaurants in the area. We emailed the restaurant and got a response rather quickly from the manager Camille. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, she responded quickly and took care of everything via email. We reserved for 15 people and once word got out among our friends we needed to accommodate 25 people... I reached out to Camille two days before asking for a miracle and she made it work !!!!!Fast forward to Saturday at one, we all arrive and are seated at a few tables all in the same area and let the fun begin. The music was great not to loud so you could converse but loud enough to move your hips when your song came on. We all ordered either the shrimp and grits or chicken and waffles.... I didnt take any food pics too many of the same thing posted. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD....oh and the crab cakes we also got a few of those and they were great also. We all got the unlimited brunch drinks and boy oh boy...Most of us opted for the rum punch, all I know was my glass never got to empty. They made it their business to keep it full and b/c of that i cant say how much I actually drank but we had a great time. The DJ was super cool and very interactive with the crowd. They even had raffles going on and my friend actually won !The atmosphere was great, bar seating, great food and accommodating staff. Such a large party Im sure we were a bit much to deal with at once...a bunch of girls with a bunch of questions but she was AWESOME. Patient and took great care of us from start to finish. I would absolutely return and recommend this place to anyone.Oh and the price was very fair considering all the food we all had.
My first time being here. Ive ridden past it for a long time and wondered what everything was like and so I made reservations for very early afternoon 12 or 12.15. The lady at the front door was very hospitable and she sat me at a great table. Danisha was the waitress assigned to my table and she was lovely! The reason for the not 5 stars: the website says that there is an all-day menu on Saturday and Sundays from 12p-11p. Then theres a Brunch menu which is 12p-4p. I was ready to order from the all day menu, but we couldnt and was only able to order from the appetizer menu and the brunch menu. They should make that known on their website or update it if its an ongoing policy or rule. The second reason is that upon coming in the restaurant, the music was unnecessarily, entirely way too loud and it was only 12 12.15 in the early afternoon. I love the music, dont get me wrong, but I had to fight to listen to my friends talk and I felt myself having to compete with the volume every time I had something to say. I had asked 3 times if the music could be turned down and it wasnt although they made it appear that it was turned down. Its nice to keep in mind that there are those who have difficulty with hearing in the first place and then when the music is too loud, it wouldnt hurt to turn down the volume a few decibels, if you will. Regarding the food, the lamb chops were perfectly cooked! The Harlem Rum Punch was on point as well. I also ordered the nachos minus the lettuce and it was soooo much, but I took it home for a snacky-snack!
A little too crowded for my tastes... The tables are much too close too close together for comfort. The food is fair to good, the drinks fair to good. The wait staff is very good and competent. They just need to dial down the eagerness just a tad. This would not be a first choice for any occasion IMHO... more like a second or third choice.
A nice place to grab a good meal at a decent price. It has a live dj all night and gets pretty turned up in the later hours. It’s a small place so expect a crowded experience. They stop serving your table around 10:30pm-11:00pm but you can get drinks all night. I’ve been a few times and have enjoyed myself every time I go.
Food is decent- pretty much what you would expect for slightly more upscale bar food. I can’t say I’ve tried the brunch. It’s a great place for happy hour and or to watch the game. They have a good DJ Friday nights, though it tends to get really packed.
Excellent bar and restaurant in Harlem for a Sunday brunch, they also have a DJ there on a Sunday afternoon playing a nice mix of house and rnb.
Great food. Great service. Good beer selection. Cool place to hang out. Close to mass transit and shopping. Did I mention GREAT FOOD? The name of the place sums it up perfectly. Nice crowd well fed and full of really good beer and mixed drinks. Yeah, Ill definitely go back. And the prices are really good for what youre getting. Sizable portions and large beers. And the foods really good.
Ended up having a great time! Good food, nice attentive waiters, music mix on point and current. Nice crowd on Sunday evening. Went for my birthday with a large party of abt 20 people. I wouldnt suggest coming here with a mixed crowd of children, young adults and adults for dinner. They sat us at a high table with tall bar chairs ...uncomfortable at first. But after 6:30/7 it was lit!!! Good vibes, cool energy all night.
First off I love Harlem period. But I really loved the vibe at the Corner Social. The DJ/music...on point. My steak...on point. My drinks (the Harlem Sage)...on point. Loved the energy of the whole place. Highly recommend reviewers to stop by. We went in around 5pm on a Sat and left around 730pm. There was a nice crowd even then. We heard it got livelier around 10 but we had to head to BK that night...if not we would have hung around longer or came back for sure. I most definitely will be returning to the Corner Social on my next visit back to NYC.
This resturant was on point. A resturant has to have several aspects that give them a 5 star rating. 1. Host. The host was gracious and extremely courteous. My friends and I asked to be moved from outside to inside and the host was very accommodating. She was super sweet. 2. Live DJ., music inclusive and their was something for everyone. Good food. My friends and I went for brunch. As starters we ordered loaded nachos, quasidilia and spinach dip. There was so much good food and huge portions, we could bearly eat our main course. I had an egg and sausage burrito. Beyond yummy. It came out pipping hot. Simply delicious. Our server was very nice and the Manager took the time to bring our table extra silverware. When you need to do brunch, this is the spot to hit up. You wont be disappointed.
Great vibe, great food and great DJ
Great vibe, great food...felt a little normal to be back with indoor dining and good music 🎶
This place is amazing. I am originally from Harlem and came up to NY form Florida where I now live and was so happy to be back to my birth place. My niece told me about this place and knew o would love it 😍 and I did. The music 🎵 the bartenders to the bouncers was good. We spent a good penny that night in there and the Manager or owner not sure who he was, was pleasant by asking us if we were good and just checking on us repeatedly. Our waiter was on point.Bathrooms are clean and the setting due to Covid was a little too close for me but was good because they had covers shields in between tables. Food, OMG 😱 was amazing if your ever in Harlem please go here you will not be disappointed.
Service was good. Only one complaint they need a better bathroom room upkeep.
First time there, Outdoor dining was nice. I really enjoyed myself, the food and drinks were good, the DJ did his thing, played all the hot hits. The only thing I can have a complain about is the wait time, a little over an hour, which is expected due to the Pandemic situation, I will be going back soon....
5 stars for the vibes, bartenders and drinks. The burger was pretty average though.
I wish I could tell you what the food was like but unfortunately I was never able to have any. I was dining alone and for some reason this baffled the hostess, who was extremely rude and questioned me several times about dining alone. After making a dramatic show of not being able to find a place to sit a single person (many tables were open) she was able to shove me in a corner which seemed was a service free area. I waited for about 10 mins before a waitress went to the table next to me and apologized for the wait and then proceeded to continue to ignore me. I sat for 20 mins and the only person who did anything was the person filling the water cups. I’ve never had such an odd experience with such a rude hostess and absolutely useless waiters. I watched them standing by the register chatting to one another while I waited and waited and waited…Needless to say, I’d never go back or recommend this restaurant.
Can be too noisy if you want to have a conversation with the people youre with. Dont like that they add a 20% plus, tip even for one or two people. However, the food is always good.
Average food, some decent beers, and super loud music, including a house DJ.
I want to have the Harlem experience because I am touring around NY .We reached the area at 12 and it was closing . The bouncer let us in to check the place to get the experience.I think my next visit I’ll be happy to give u my full experience about this spot .All in all , we get the recommendation of this spot from a local guy and he said it’s the best in town .
Neighborhood bar with live DJ, decent food great attentive bar attendants who make great Drinks. Next time Im in Harlem will definitely visit again
This place is a bit too unprofessional for me and my two girlfriends. The male staff is unprofessional. The music system needs an upgrade and the service is too slow. They were unorganized and didnt seem like they enjoyed working there. If you are an educated women of color in her 30s, past on this place. There are so many more options for a less problematic night with your girls.
My friends and I sat outside to eat, and the music was very very loud. We had to scream to hear each other, and heard the conversations of others around us. The food was okay, but not the best. Atmosphere was rustic and cute.
Love brunch on a weekend here. Grown + lively crowd, great music and really attentive staff. Food runs on the salty side (srs just don’t with the garlic fries) but the drinks are really inventive.
I just love Corner Social. The food is good, the drinks are good, and I have yet to come across a member of the wait staff who wasnt pleasant. Sometimes theres a DJ, so if you dont plan accordingly it could be too loud for a sit down brunch or dinner. However, if youre there for the turn up, the DJ is great for a nonstop dance party.
This place is so awesome. The food is amazing. The drinks are off the chain!!! If you are ever in Ny ,you must go to Corner social. When I tell you the music, the atmosphere the people mixed with the food and the drinks... it is a recipe for a hell of a good time!!!! The only thing I can say is that theres a security guard by the bathrooms they are single stalls for men and women. that was a little weird but I cant wait to return!!!
There are always stories at the end of the night after visiting the socializing corner (as I like to say). Cocktails are a bit too sweet for my liking so stick to wine. Age range various so lots of interesting folks roll through. Learn the rhythm of this spot. Worth going on Saturday or Sunday night. Def a date spot.
This is a consistent hangout spot for myself and my coworkers who work around the corner from this establishment. We absolutely love coming here (even though granted it is a little pricey) if you like old school music with a little mixture of a little bit of new school definitely this is the spot. The drinks are amazing it isnt like a hit and miss but they never fail my favorite drink is a whiskey sour. But definitely a chill spot for a Friday or Saturday night.
When we stepped inside, we heard great music mixed with a plethora of beautiful black ppl. Black owned, great vibe. We could still have conversations without the music drowning us out. Love this place, would love to return!
Went here to grab a drink … I paid I tipped and I never got a thank you or acknowledgement … because marijuana is legal I started to roll up so I could smoke outside the guard started tapping me saying I needed to leave lol 😂 security out in the front had a bunch of jokes and was being funny and flirtatious …. Food needs to be updated got very nasty over the years that i been going through …. drinks are very good dj is good … the culture for restaurants nowadays is they want you to spend all your money without appreciating you and im not into that i work very hard for my money … if you want hospitality travel to midtown this place is not it … 2 drinks coming out to damn near $50 with tip smh 🤦♀️ im good on that
On Wednesday Sept. 25th 2024 I came into Corner Social at close to 10pm for dessert and a drink. Not wanting to sit on a hard surface the host; who appeared to be a middle aged, medium built, hispanic man sat me at a booth with a cushion chair. The waitress came to me and said the kitchen was ABOUT to close and never came back. She was informed that I only wanted dessert and a drink. After waiting a while another waiter came by. When I got his attention to find out where my waitress was, his response was the kitchen is closed. The staff then began huddling & conversating in a corner. The host said I was to go to the bar and place my order, wait for it and go back to my seat. The host was previously made aware of my disability. I could not believe such treament from what is supposed to be a high end restaurant. Needless to say I had to sit, call my access-a-ride, and wait in shame for them to pick me up while people around me were eating. Really!!! It literally takes less than 5 minutes to put cake & ice cream on a plate with a glass of wine. Watch how you treat Gods children.
Non-mainstream Pub segment. Fair number of monitors for sports events. Hip decor emphasis (blocking the monitors for sports). Prices are par. Portions are par. Fair to good execution of the menu. Drinks with good bite. Happy hour for drinks only. Late night has food specials added. Great service and host staff boosted them to 4-star status. Pics: world cup crowd, well gin gimlet.
Came here on a Sunday around noon and we were seated immediately. Started off with some mimosas and great nachos. I ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffles, which tasted pretty good - but the waffles were disappointingly thin and small, plus you have to ask for syrup if you want it. Had some bites of a friends Croque Madam and it was ok; felt like they couldve used better bread - it was pretty Wonder Bread-ish. The fries on the side were great though. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, service was ok (couldnt get the servers attention a couple of times), and the food was satisfactory. Not sure if Id come back, but it was nice enough for a 4/5.
All fairness, I did not have any food. However, it was a football Sunday night. The place was packed with plenty seating. However, the noise level was just too loud. Perfect for a night out with your boys but not a date.
Nice place, would recommend. But when I made reservations and specifically asked do y’all accept Discover card. I actually said it twice to get confirmation. Both times, the lady told me yes. Come to find out they don’t accept Discover. So I went to the bank across the street to make a cash withdraw. We all know how that interest is going to look on my next payment with a cash with. Plus I was on a date. Very embarrassing 1st impression. I will not be going back there but the place is nice and the waitress was also.
Food here is consistently great in such a nice chill atmosphere. So glad they seem to be doing okay cause it’s such a great place. Delivery is always perfect. Will continue to support as much as I can for sure.
I will never dine at this restaurant again. I have visited four times over the past two weeks and never had an issue until this last visit but the way the issue was handled by the manager on duty has caused me to decide to never return. I arrived with a friend at around 11pm. The restaurant closes at midnight and we were informed that we would be the last table sat for the night and we needed to order quickly. We sat down and ordered all the food we wanted including appetizers and went ahead and ordered two drinks each. Our server brought our drinks and after that we never saw her again until she brought the check. Literally NEVER saw her again the entire meal (which lasted 45 minutes) at 11:45 the waiter came to bring the check. I said “hey, I never got the shrimp I ordered. Is it coming out?” She briskly walked away. About five minutes later she came back and said the shrimp was removed from the bill and the cook sends his apologies. Now in my experience at restaurants when a restaurant makes a mistake, the manager visits the table and makes a personal apology. You simply don’t apologize through a server that’s not how it should be done. But in this case the manager did not come to the table until I asked for her even though she knew there was an issue Bc she removed the shrimp that we never got from the bill. When she did come, she was not apologetic and she justified not doing anything more than sending the apology through the server. I noted that a 20 dollar forced gratuity was on our bill. We were a party of two and were not notified that we would be forced tipped. Now generally I am an amazing tipper and I tip above and beyond when I receive attentive service. In this case the server was not attentive in any way. Never checked on us, and had she bothered I may have gotten my shrimp before the kitchen closed down. I asked for the forced tip to be removed. The manager refused. I asked for a discount in consideration for the mistake and less than stellar experience. Again she refused. I asked to speak to the owner. She said the owner wasn’t there and that the buck stopped with her. I started to raise my voice just slightly in frustration and she abruptly walked away mid sentence and never returned. Total disrespect and lack of customer service. She literally had no regard for my experience and despite having tools at her disposal “to make it right” she just didn’t even bother! I tried not to make it a race thing but in today’s racial climate it’s hard not to consider it when our white counterparts treat us so poorly. Like our business doesn’t matter. At a restaurant right in the heart of Harlem where every patron was a person of color. I was so disgusted! My friend and I talked it over and decided to pay cash for our meal and withhold the forced gratuity. The server didn’t earn it. Period. She never gave us a single thought throughout the night. The spirit of gratuities are that they are voluntary otherwise they are simply a service fee. My friend stayed behind so I could go across the street and use the atm. They treated my friend horribly while I was gone (5 minutes) and they made it seem like we were trying to dine and dash. I don’t steal and I certainly don’t dine and dash! When I returned the atmosphere was very tense. I handed over the cash for the entire bill minus the gratuity. The manager tried to lock us in by closing the door after I handed over the money. Like they were going to shake us down for the forced tip. I couldn’t believe it. And honestly I feel bad for the server because if your manager valued your service as an employee, she would have taken a discount off the bill so that the server still would have been tipped. But the manager didn’t care about anyone in the situation. Not me the customer and not the server who works in hopes of making tips. Do not eat here if you want to be treated like a valued customer. They don’t value you at all and when they make mistakes that take away from your dining experience they don’t even take accountability and make it right. Stay away.
You dont need reservations. We were seated immediately on a Friday evening. The jerk wings, the calamari, the porkchops, mashed potato and collard greens was off the chain. On the pricey side, but a great time overall.
Definitely the place for the turn up or just plan good ole time. Lively music from a live DJ. Food is delicious and Dancing is must if you can. Ambience is great but it can get kind of cram pack some nights.
The food has NEVER let me down here. This is the kind of place you end up going to on a whim, because (and the reason they lose a star) they do NOT take reservations unless you are a large group. I cant stand this, because you will almost always have to wait for a table here...this is Manhattan, I dont have time to wait, and more often than not I have brought my friends here and after ten minutes or so walked away. Since I dont like to do this when entertaining friends, I rarely get to dine here unless as I said, on a whim a friend and I pass by, notice theres no line and say, Gee, Im hungry. Service was also a bit slow, but the open-air atmosphere, especially in the summer months, is very welcoming as is the music and neighborhood. Definitely check it out, but make sure you have the time to spare.
Went to check it out before heading somewhere else on a sunday.. Dj was playing old school hip hop, not a lot of ppl. He has to read the room to see if the music Is hittin, which it truly wasnt. But cool spot.
This was my first time at this restaurant type lounge place. I loved it the crowd was a mixed crowd music was bomb & alot of good looking men lol. The food was also good and there drinks were decent overall experience a strong 8 yessss I would definitely go back great vibes.
Excellent place to enjoy moderately priced Southern comfort food (twist thereof) and good quality pub fare. The atmosphere has a real local quality and feels like a destination spot at the same time. This will become a very regular stop, for most people - it is for me!
This place has really turned into an establishment that is geared towards profiling and turning away community based customers and I remember when they first opened they were welcoming and excepting of everyone and it was a great social setting. Now I see security turning away ALOT of African American males that are single and not with a women, or groups of males , and when you get inside it is just couples and females! Not a great social setting being as though the place isnt a huge location and you are still able to stand around as patrons dine sitting down. Bring back the welcoming and great ambiance that the original corner social had or relocate!
It was extremely loud. We had a table that was close to the bar and the entire time, people were just bumping into us. One girl was screaming so loud and flipping her hair so much while trying to entertain men at the bar that she hit me.In addition, I think the food got me sick. I ordered the red snapper which came with some kind of corn and avocado salsa in lettuce on the side and it was disgusting. The fish itself was okay. A few minutes after we left, I began feeling nauseous and ultimately had to end my night because I was sick.P.s. My boyfriend said his pork chops were great and I had tried some of his grits which was pretty good. (Im pescatarian so could not try his full meal.)Disclaimer: No we did not drink so I know my nauseousness had to come from the food.
I love this place. The food is always hot, fresh and flavorful and on the right night (fri, sat) the live DJ will have the party jumping! Great place to go with friends or solo. Oh and try their “frosé” thank me later.
Great atmosphere. Outstanding food. Friendly bartender. Cool vibes. What more can you ask for? Visit here and you won’t regret. I checked out his place in Central Harlem today on a whim and this place did not let me down for lunch.Edit: I’ve been back multiple times. I love the drinks here especially. Nice vibe too
Its an Experience. If your in Harlem .. its the place to be
Dropped by this past Monday evening, the food was excellent, music was great and the atmosphere was wonderful until these rowdy protesters decided to wreak havoc on the place. Did not appreciate how loud and violent they were during what was supposed to be a pleasant dinner.
If you are looking for some great dishes that are filling but not overwhelming then find your way to Corner Social. Having worked in the area a few years ago I had my pick and I was very satisfied with my choice. Brought some out of towners here and we all had an amazing time. Good draft selections and fresh ingredients made our drinks very enjoyable!
I can’t say I had a good experience, sorry to say the waiter was all over the place he barely addressed my table. The heat lamps didn’t work, there was a water bug on the bar they didn’t have enough cups to serve coffee. If it wasn’t for the fact that I had a large family gathering there I would have simply left but I will never visit this place again
The guy who fills water was only good thing about the place.
Have been for brunch twice and Im sure this will become a regular spot for us. Weve had omelets, huevos rancheros, and chicken and waffles and theyve all been good. Probably most highly recommend the omelets. The only thing that would make it 5 stars is if they had decaf coffee. They had decaf tea but Id expect a place that serves brunch to have both regular and decaf coffee.Service is great and very friendly. Atmosphere is fun and music is great and not too loud. Well be back!
Got charged 20% gratuity when only 3 of us ate. I ordered a salad. Never got it. I said nvm and asked for garlic fries since it would be faster. They gave me regular fries. We had to ask for the manager. Manager mad it better.
Went there for my daughters 21st birthday. The place had a great vibe. The staff were pleasant and will accommodate anything you ask for. The food didnt disappoint.
Good music. Nice atmosphere.. Good food
This place isnt terrible. I can see this being a great spot just to chill for drinks. The vibe is nice, music is cool, and my drinks were excellent... but my food was sad.Shout out to Junabee tho who gave me and my friends great service!
This is one of my Go To spots. Delicious food, good drinks, fair Harlem prices. The weekend gets a bit crazy; lines, etc. Excellent for lunch and happy hour. Good music in the evening. DJ on the weekends is lit too.
The music and vibe was great the entire night and the staff are pretty respectable. I love how they do not rush you to leave after you are finished eating. However, I ordered the shrimp and grits which had great potential. The recipe seemed good but it taste bland and my food was cold. I had to keep adding salt lol smh and I am not a person who usually overseasons my food. I wish I could give 3 1/2 stars. The food being cold and bland really had a lot to do with that. I will try it out again most definitely because of the vibe and music, I’ll give the food the benefit of doubt, maybe the chef was tired or something lol.
This place has the vibes! This was the first place I went to on my trip to NYC, I just so happened to stumble across this gem when I overheard the dj playing some bangers! The rest is history, great spot in Harlem
Great neighborhood joint in the changing neighborhood off Lenox & Malcom X. Take the 2 or 3 to 125th street & its 1 block north. Worth the visit.
Their bartender Fatima is amazing and knowledgeable of her bar. She provides great service and amazing drinks. The food could use a dash of any type of flavor, its very bland and over priced for such a lack luster taste. But the bar ambiance makes up for the poor food.
Drinks and food were good and fresh. Service took a bit long to initiate drinks and taking our order but once we got going it was a good dining experience. Definitely will return.
Great place excellent food. Not a place to go for quiet or for really good conversation. It can get a bit loud when its crowded. But the servings are large and always good. Its a vibe.
