First time here based on a recommendation and glad we took the advice. The food and service were excellent. The linguine with clams was one of the best I have ever had. The crab cakes and lobster ravioli were also very good! Nice wine selection but bottles could benefit from some light chilling/temperature control. Overall very happy!
Very small place with excellent service. We got 2 specials of the night, branzino and octopus salad and they were one of the best weve ever had. Didnt care for crab cakes, too oily.
Bricola is a cozy classy gem in my neighborhood, which I highly recommend, with a warm, proud staff, a formidable wine selection and great food. Pictured is the steak, a special that day which was excellent.Bricola can be easy on the wallet (which may not seem obvious at a casual glance) if you choose, but the wine and desserts are too tempting to be constrained by frugality. Especially their cheesecake. Many many thanks to Liubov for inviting me in all those months back. I hope to become a regular.
Fantastic Lunch Experience!I recently had lunch here, and it exceeded all my expectations! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was to our liking. A special thank to our server Sara. The ambiance was also greatWhether you’re looking for a quick bite or a leisurely lunch, this place hits the mark. Highly recommended
A very traditional and worthwhile selection of Italian dishes. The price is perfect. Meatball is impressive to me. The cheesecake is worth mentioning! The cheese they used was very unique, fresh, and suitable. I was very impressed. I believe that this cheesecake has no competition at the same or double price point.
I am forever grateful for this recommendation. What a gem!! I keep going back here for the food and such friendly staff! Feels like such a nice, cozy oasis/getaway in Hell’s Kitchen. I am that person that will always order the same thing, but had to try their latest special! Veal chop with mashed potatoes and asparagus in a mushroom sauce. YUMMMMM! Run don’t walk while it’s on the menu. Also always order the following starters: eggplant goat cheese, lamp chop lollipops, warm octopus salad.. actually just order everything on the appetizers menu. You won’t regret it!!!
Love the vibe of this place! Its very small with a long shared table which makes it fun to chat with your neighbors. When visiting cities we prefer to choose local places like this vs. the touristy restaurants where everyone goes. The food, drinks, wine and staff were great. We shared the caesar, orecchiette, and mussels. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommend for 2 -4, not for larger groups.
Truly a hidden gem. This good was incredible and you will leave here feeling stuffed. We ordered everything off the specials menu. Started with the grilled octopus salad app watch was perfectly cooked, truffle gnocchi which was melt in your mouth delicious, and the lamb shank with an herb risotto. The risotto by itself was ok but paired with the lamb and the sauce, it was the perfect compliment. The seafood risotto was also very good. Cute and cozy vibes, the GM Mark took very good care of us. We will absolutely be back.
Came here last night for a nice dinner with people visiting the city and had a delicious meal. However, thirty minutes in, we were asked to leave by the hostess. We still had half glasses of wine in front of us after being told we should order a bottle (maybe don’t push that if you want people out quickly?). Our reservation was at 5:30 and we were told other tables were waiting at 6. Not being able to space out your reservations is not the customers problem, figure that out on your own end. Service and food was amazing but the treatment of your guests for improper management of tables is why I will not be returning.
My friend just came back from Italy and decided we should catch up at Briciola. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and the waiters were pleasant. We started with wine which are very delicious but I wish they let us taste it before bringing the glasses it’s a wine bar, I don’t think that would be much. The food were delicious and for me the lamb shank risotto was delicious. A place to be but will advise you ask for a taste when selecting your wine.
Always a good dinner experience! We had the minestrone soup, penne pesto, eggplant and roasted potatoes. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were shareable. Would recommend the place if youre in the area!
Came here with two friends because one of them visited before and loved it.There is an outside area, a bar area, and a dining area. The dining area is small and the bar area decor is casual. The ambiance really does make me think I’m in Italy. It’s cozy and I do feel that you can spend a lot of time here. I would keep in mind that the area by the bar is a bit narrow and the dining room is a bit small as well.We had Alex as our server and he was very friendly. I had an Aperol spritz. It personally wasn’t my favorite. My appetizer was the lamb chops and my gosh. These lamb chops were amazing! For our mains, we ordered the special lamb shank risotto, I ordered the Rigatoni e Gamberi, and Steak special. I wanted to order the Lamb, but since I’m not a mashed potato eater I couldn’t get it. The lamb was DELICIOUS! I also liked my friends steak. When it came to my Rigatoni, it was a bit dry and lackluster. I was a bit sad.We finished with the Tiramisu and it was delicious! In all, I feel like Briciola excels with their meat-based meals. I would recommend this as a casual date whether it be with friends or a significant other.I see so many good reviews on the pasta, so I wouldn’t mind trying it again.
We were in NYC visiting my daughter who lives right by the restaurant. The food is excellent however the service and atmosphere did impact our experience. From a service standpoint, I’m including the hostess and everyone removing plates and cleaning tables. It is a very small, cramped space. We have been at the restaurant a total of 30 mins and the hostess came by to ask if we were done since there were people on the street wanting for our table. You share a large table with other guests. There was another family celebrating a birthday, they were spoken at, quite loudly, that they have 1 hour, no more. The table cleaning staff are constantly by, leaning across to get bread baskets or unused cutlery. When they are cleaning the table, you’re getting water spray.Luckily we sat at this table with wonderful people! They made the night.
We have visited this restaurant twice because the food tasted fabulous. On the first evening we were able to get a table outside in the enclosed provisionary seating. It was great and we were protected from the cold wind. We were the only hetero couple in the venue, but we quickly got to talk with the people on the next table and we had a blast. They were so nice and funny. The waitress also was really nice and pleasant. On the second visit we were late and the outside seating was full. We got a place at the bar. Since the door was always open, the cold wind constantly was on my back and Im still surprised I didnt get a cold. I needed a hot shower afterwards to warm up again. Anyway, all of the dishes we ordered were stunningly good. The octopus was the best I ever had.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Briciola, an exquisite restaurant closed to Lincoln Center and Broadway. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, staff attentive. I seated at the communal table and had a great time chatting with people sitting next to me.I started with octopus salad. For the main course, I opted for the Fettuccine ai Funghi. Every bite was a harmonious blend of savory flavors, and the portion size was generous. For the dessert, I couldn’t resist trying the tiramisu. It was the perfect finale to a satisfying dining experience.
Amazing Italian restaurant! Great casual spot and simple menu. Food quality was amazing and staff was great. Reasonable price for high quality food.I ordered the branzino with mashed potatoes and spinach as my sides.
We had an amazing event at Briciola for a group of 20. Liu was so accommodating and responsive leading up to the event and made sure everything went smoothly on the day. Service was fantastic and the food was outstanding as usual. Thank you for making our night so special!
The best italian food in NYC with great service
This place is a hole in the wall. Quite literally. Standing room only. No tables to eat at private the establishment. I had to eat my entree standing with the plate in my left hand and a fork in my right hand.Glorified food truck.
Went here in a whim for a late lunch with my daughter. The full restaurant seating isn’t available until near dinner time but the counter seating with prompt, friendly greetings added to the experience.Everything was really tasty served piping hot. Then only thing I missed was not being able to order pizza for lunch but the bruschetta was close enough and certainly enjoyed. If your in the Hell’s Kitchen area, I’d recommend this place with enthusiasm. Great value!
This is such a beautiful, intimate and well kept restaurant, we sat outside on the street since it was warm outside and the staff were so attentive though it was busy, and the lights outside looked really good. We will definitely visit here again. 100% recommended.Amazing selection of wines. Some of the best Lobster Ravioli. 5 stars. Thank you for having us.
Good time to Birthday girl!Small tiny restaurant, but comfortable feel like mom cooking lol, we have a wonderful time enjoy together with good food. The food was ok and tiramisu was good. Nice service 👍🏻

Picked this italian eatery based on its location and it was a lovely experience. I would have to rate it highly regardless of the food since the staff was kind enough to let my companion and I sit there for hours (nearly 4) chatting away without buying anything close to 4 hours worth of food. They were attentive but we never felt pressured to order more or to leave so that was wonderful. The decor is intimate and inviting, as others have said, itd be a great date night locale. We dont have any mobility issues but this wouldnt be an ideal spot for anyone that isnt comfortable sitting on stools for a long time and potentially being elbow to elbow with other patrons. I went with the truffle gnocchi special and loved it. It was a generous portion, had great textures, a nice amount of truffle flavor and truffle and was an ode to cheese. Not sure if its been reimagined since other reviewers tried it but it was definitely a hit today. The shrimp rigatoni was also appreciated and our wines were tasty. I was surprised they dont do any coffee at all (so we got more wine instead), but that would be a welcome addition to the menu.
Food is good. Prices are reasonable.I got the impression that the servers were trying to push us out as quickly as possible because they kept trying to take our plates away, even though there was still food on them. It was crowded, and people were waiting outside, but I just wanted to finish my meal. The owner had an attitude as well.
Was able to get a seat by the bar. Good selection of wines, great staff and wonderful food. Had their squid ink pasta with tomato sauce and seafood special, and had it with some wonderful wine recommendations. I would definitely come back again.
Cute little Italian restaurant with a good variety of pasta options. Outdoor seating with a few bar seats indoors. Staff is very nice & accommodating, but the charcuterie board was underwhelming. A bit expensive imo. Dessert was probably the best course.
Great little NYC joint, consistently amazing. Busy. Great Vibe. Delicious food. Bar seating, or communal. Unique New York. Liu & Maria are clearly great servers, professional and kind. Coming back next year for sure!
Wow! Loved the vibe of the place overall and the food was fantastic! Even after we were full from the delicious pasta and salads, we couldnt resist getting a second helping of the cheesecake! So amazing! Couldnt have enough!
Cute place with great food. I really enjoyed with appetizers, actually more than the main course. Definitely need to try the burrata and the crab and shrimp cakes. Our main was the risotto ai funghi(special of the night) which was great and the lobster ravioli with pink sauce which was ok, nothing special and a little underwhelming. Other than that, great experience definitely coming back.
I absolutely adore the vibe here! And, of course, the food too! The specials are always spot on—seriously, the risotto and burrata practically melt in my mouth. I’m convinced they’ve got a secret ingredient called ‘magic’ in the kitchen!
I visited for the first time to enjoy my birthday dinner with friends. We were immediately seated, even though we were a bit early for our reservation, which wasn’t expected but was certainly nice! I had previously read amazing reviews about the pasta here, and it was BEYOND what I expected. The absolute best I’ve ever had. We also had a charcuterie board, and our waitress even went out of her way to put extra of my favorite cheese on the board. The drinks were fabulous, and I loved the cheesecake (and the birthday sparkler)! Thank you for an amazing evening. I can’t wait to come back!
Very nice staff but the food is not more than mediocre. The burrata was nothing special - it was carelessly arranged on a bed of subpar prosciutto. The bruschetta was too oily and without any finesse of taste. The pasta was good though. When you order a single malt whisky you dont even get to know the name of it (and regarding the taste and smell it could have been only a substandard product).
Love this Italian restaurant in NYC. I’ve been here a couple of times while visiting. Great service and delicious food. The burrata appetizer and black truffle gnocchi (special) was unreal and I’m still thinking about it. Good wine selection as well.
Warm, cozy, hidden gem with amazing food and excellent service. Came to study and grab bites, and stayed longer than expected.
Our seats were right next to the trash. One of the employees was throwing food out in there and spilled it on me but didnt realize. Our server was nice. Food was good
I have never in my life had pasta that tasted this fresh! Amazing, must check this place out!
We spotted this place on a stroll through Hell’s Kitchen and liked the menu and setting so we booked a table. It’s quite a small place with a shared high table inside, seats at the bar and a number of covered tables outside. We sat inside at the shared table. There’s a nice calm and relaxing ambience inside. We originally intended to explore the Cichetti menu, but they had a great selection of specials including Octopus salad and Branzino which caught our attention. We ordered these along with crab and shrimp cake. Food was delicious, especially the Octopus salad. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. They have a nice selection of Italian wine to complement the food. We really enjoyed our meal and evening and will definitely return on our next trip to NYC.
Delicious food, Lovely atomosphere, small but cozy Italian restaurant. We went before opening, and in case of going early and seating 1-2 people no rsvp is required (though I recommend anyways). Tall bar seats and everyone sits on one long table. You can place bags in the nice cubby behind you. They do NOT serve coffee and was surprised after the meal!! Grilled octopus was really great and recommend. The place is small and table is high so NOT recommend for wheelchair, and not really a buggy and toddler place (unless maybe you call and they welcome it). Would go again early lunch but without kids if I ever such chance. Nice service.
The service was quick, and I appreciated the variety of seating options—you can choose between dining outdoors, at the bar, or at a communal table. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the wine selection was exquisite. My only complaint is the cooking of the pasta; it was slightly overcooked, and given that it was a fungi dish, a more precise texture would have been ideal. However, the flavor was very good overall.
Ugh, so yummy!!! Cozy, cute restaurant with great food. Even my critic and picky friend was satisfied 😃 Our waiter seemed a bit uppity but the food still made up for it! Definitely will be back and recommend it to friends.
Great local Italian! Totally added to our NY experience. Off the main streets 😀Our server was fantastic! Highly recommend
A true hidden gem! From the food to the service to the location, this little restaurant exceeded all of our expectations. Everything we ordered was top tier and the prices were reasonable for the city. Our server Lou was the cherry on top! She was truly amazing at making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. I highly recommend this place and the cheesecake :-)
Super good food. Amazing specials. Expensive wines. Fun birthday celebration with tiramisu with sparklers provided by restaurant. Small inside space but they have outdoor seating too. Reasonably priced.
We wandered into Briciola after seeing a show for a late dinner and loved it! We were quickly seated at the bar in their intimate restaurant with soft candle lighting, wine bottles everywhere, prosciutto hanging from the ceiling, and delicious smells wafting over us. The grilled octopus salad was tasty, and both the lasagna and tortellini hit the spot. Loved this tiny Italian restaurant.
Homemade pasta, well-cooked lamb chops, and nice Sicilian (?) wine. Came up from KY to sing, and this was our lovely late dinner after the concert at Lincoln Center.
Omg what a find!! This place is so amazing. Really good wine for affordable prices. Nice wine list. And the food is wow!! Not your usual tourist crap Italian knock off food. Its tiny and delightful.
Literally the best pasta Ive ever had in my life. The Linguini with Clams and Lobster Ravioli were fantastic. Mussels were super tasty and the service and atmospher were great too! 10/10 would recommend!!
Amazing food hitting all taste spots. Very fast service and nice servers. It’s a gem to find. We will be back.
Great food! And service!
The food was good, the pasta was fresh and the sauces were on point. The prices were fairly on point for the serving size. The waiters were excellent and had friendly banter.
Went there after my sister graduation. Food and wine was amazing. The service was super nice. The price vs quality was actually a nice surprise.
Its with a heavy heart that I have to give them 1 star. Before covid, this was a great little place with delicious food. During covid, the food is simply terrible. I understand everyone is hurting but this is a meal you could find from a school cafeteria. Take the rigatoni e gamberi pictured below - its got some ragu like sauce and three tiny shrimp mixed in. It tastes as bad as it looks. Unfortunately, this was the theme for all the dishes. They are obviously cutting corners on the ingredients and probably have a busboy doing double duty as the chef. Avoid until the pandemic is over.
Its great!Service was phenomenal!Food was awesome. !!!
Great food, amazing service and good atmosphere.A bit touristy but so good.
Food was ok, one dish doesn’t taste fresh but overall is fine.
Roasted beets are from the can, the cheesecake tastes as if it was purchased from a wholesale retailer. We made reservations and the manager was abrasive in mentioning they needed the table for another guest after we finalized the bill but during a time we ordered more items to drink. I settled the bill 15 min before his comment only to avoid my fiends fighting to pay the bill. Overall, managers or hosts are expected to communicate respectfully to clients,
We arrived and we’re seated at a wonderful table by the window, we heard the incredible specials and we’re blown away. We wanted to order all of them. These were two of the specials with the substitution that they gave us because we didn’t need pork. The meal was incredible, and the service was terrific. 10 out of 10 I would definitely eat here again.
Pleasant outside seating on a nice night. The Russian waitress steered us to good specials.
Do it! My wife & I decided we wanted Italian food and this is where we ended up. By far some of the best food we had on our trip. Fresh and delicious ingredients paired with friendly staff. Highly recommend & will be visiting again.
We ate at Bricola for a light and late dinner. We had the Tuna Tartare, Cheese and Meat Platter and the Tiramisu. All were excellent and the restaurant had a very charming and cozy atmosphere. We really appreciated being able to find somewhere still taking orders and serving just after 11pm - our connecting flight out of JFK was canceled and we were unexpectedly in New York for the evening. Recommend and would return.
Cozy, authentic Italian restaurant. Atmosphere and food definitely reminded me of Italy. Tagliatelle Bolognese was absolutely deelish…the pasta was perfectly thin and light in a savory meat sauce. Linguine Vongole was my fave pasta. Highly recommend!
Very busy restaurant on Wednesday night, excellent food, cozy atmosphere. The service was very attentive. We ordered a mushroom fettuccine, lamb shank risotto, octopus salad and it was incredible. Amazing for parties and dates. we will be back!
My partner and I were looking for a place to eat before going to see MJ on Broadway . wed stop and look at the menu of every restaurant we came near to.after saying no to 4,we read the menu, took notice of its inside and outside, and decided to give it a try...LOVED IT !!!
A fantastic little Italian restaurant on the corner of the street in Hell’s Kitchen area. I originally found this restaurant on TikTok before traveling from the UK and pre-booked. We are at around 5pm and by 6 the outside seating was full with a lovely family friendly atmosphere. The menu was generous and greatly priced, with daily specials being offered for plenty of choice. The inside wine collection is also incredible.
The wine - amazing. The pasta - 5/5. The tiramisu - best I’ve ever had. Period.
Cramped yet warm and cozy atmosphere. Servers were friendly and attentive. Food was brought out in a timely fashion.
On our trip to NYC weve been to a few different restaurants but this one has been the best. Briciola was recommended to us by a friend who is a local and for good reason. This Italian eatery is a little hole in the wall that you might miss walking by. I started with a fantastic cocktail, I had the bolognese as my entree, and the tiramisu for dessert. Absolutely everything was delicious! All of the staff we interacted with were very pleasant. Our amazing server was Lou and she had an wonderful bubbly personality and was very helpful with the menu, including giving detailed descriptions on all of the specials. This is definitely a hidden gem and I will 100% be back next time Im in the city.
Very good and some dishes are at a great price mark. I enjoy the outdoor seating, which is less cramped than the trendy but tiny indoor space. The service, however, is very hit or miss. Last time I ordered sparkling water and received tap water, & tried to order an appetizer while I waited (I was pretty much the only customer at this point) but the server wouldnt take the order until.I ordered more. I think that in general (not that day), they are understaffed, but its still frustrating. Today, I ordered 4 tapas size dishes and a glass of wine for myself and a friend. We got two dishes because the server thought, without us saying so, that we needed more time to order (more than four dishes?) So after almost an hour, I asked where my wine and the other two dishes were, only to learn that she never put them in but had never returned to ask if we were ready to order either.I like this place quite a bit and I will return but my evening was sort of ruined today.
Living in #Hellskitchen we like to take a walk along 9th and find random restaurants to try. Tonight we tried #esanation #thai #restaurant I’d give it about a 7 on a scale of 1-10, ten being the best. The food was good a lot of flavor Atmosphere was okay, music was a good level for conversation.
Very good. Intimate small dinning room with shared seating.
Nice food and cozy atmosphere. soso service. A manager who serves entire restaurant sometimes shows attitude
Excellent, quiet place for midday wine.
Octopus salad was amazing. Pasta was good. I enjoyed their thanksgiving menu. Wine selection has some interesting choices (in a good way, with some wines I didnt recognize from the standard several types you see everywhere). This place is warm and intimate, and has a small dining area, but I count that as part of the charm. I really enjoyed my time there, and the servers were friendly and attentive.
Good food, mango salad was very good. The risotto with lamb was good, lamb could be a little more soft and falling of the bone, and it had a good flavor. The staff was great.
Lovely little Italian restaurant. Yummy food! Squid salad is a must try.
This is great food and lovely service. It is small, so be aware. This didnt bother us as we reserved ahead of time and the vibe was good withe the cozy environment.
Food was delicious, great wine selection. Our server was very attentive and kind, she recommended great dishes for us. Great location too.
We were 9 people there for lunch, including a toddler. One of the staff went across the street to borrow a high chair from another restaurant. We sat outside in a lovely heated space. Food was delicious, quick service, staff so generous and kind. Great drinks too.
The owner took care of me very well. It looks that he is an experienced man with good advice. The staff they were very aware of my needs. Great atmosphere, great food, great address in Hell’s Kitchen. We’ll be back for sure!
We di bot make a reservation( for dinner ) since we made a call before going to see if they had availability to do a walk in, we went to the restaurant which by the way has the letter B.I think the host was not very attentive, its even more so when we asked for a table at the patio told us “that is for 4 people” in a not very friendly way, and rudely told us that there was a table inside, without explaining the reason, etc. the common table was really not that comfortable, very tight for dinner, the waitress came to us, explained the specialties, the food was ordered, a bottle of wine was ordered, the food was good, thanks to some people who were there next to our seats left and we were able to eat in peace, with some space it is really uncomfortable if you want to eat, they don’t care about if you are really comfortable to eat , doesn’t care they try to fit more people in that tableFood was great ,I’m in the industry for several years and the attitude it’s Terrible .The restaurante design ( 5/5 )Food (5/5 )Service 0/5Hope you can improve your customer service
Very nice restaurant with delicious food. The service was great, I recommend listening to the specials, and the cheesecake.
Made a reservation here, but I guess they didn’t have room so they took us across the street to Aria, which has the same menu. Adding the review here since they are basically the same place, and this is where I was trying to eat. When we got inside across the street, they took us to seats at the bar that were so close to the table being us that our backs would have been touching the whole time. They moved us to another table where before taking a bite, I had to look behind me to see if anytime was coming so they didn’t run into my elbow. The servers had to keep removing things from our table super quickly so that other guests didn’t knock things off.Basically the point is that they have about 10% too many seats. If they fixed that, the atmosphere would be much better. But as-is, it just lessons the whole experience.
Small and cozy place that opens till late. Great place to share small plates and a good bottle of wine. Friendly and attentive service. Great vibe and great food in midtown Manhattan.
Food tasted good, super friendly staff. The portion size was on the smaller end.
Love the small plates- great for someone with a small appetite! The wait staff are all so friendly which is rare in New York considering the food options are affordable. The lamb chops were DELICIOUS! Want to try the octopus salad everyone were raving about next time.
Amazing and lovely italian restaurant. The food and wine were both amazing.
One of our favorites when we come to visit NYC! Been amazing for years. Food is excellent. Service is authentic and energetic. Just love coming in here.
Cute place. Great food- tastes more authentically Italian than many other Italian restaurants. I loved the Lobster ravioli, especially. We sat outside, and it was quiet and peaceful.
Italian tapas? Whatever it is, its AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! The Octopus Salad (specials of the day) was the highlight! Also, shoutout to Ben (think he may be the busboy), so attentive, efficient and friendly!
The food is excellent and the wine selection is decent. I’d recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a stellar Italian rec. I’d definitely come again and again and try everything on the menu. Maybe I will?
Small cozy restaurant. Share table. Service was okay but food came out pretty quick. The proportion was the perfect size for us, but I can see some may think its small. Definitely make reservation beforehand coz seats fill up fast.
Traditional italian! we came for the Carpacio that we love, but they only serve it in the summer, a pity! the prosciutto is very good!! but dont forget to try the Gnocchi with truffle sauce! Its amazing, definitely the best Ive ever had! its really worth the experience and certainly the best cost benefit of Italian food in NY
This small Italian neighborhood wine bar was charming and delicious. The tagliatelle bolognese was delicious and so were the salads, the bread, and the crab cakes. It was a beautiful fall day so we ate a leisurely lunch outside. Good service. We really enjoyed this place even though we arent wine drinkers.
Everything on the menu is SO good. I particularly like the tables outside under the trees in the summer time. Feels like being in Europe.
Great Italian restaurant! We shared a few dishes and the prices were very reasonable compared to other Italian places in the city.
Mushroom pasta was decadent. The eggplant appetizers that was rolled with cheese and marinara another delicious surprise. Pear salad was fresh and crisp. Cozied up to the bar around 5. Was lucky to grab 3 seats. Small but quaint. Friendly hostess and waitstaff. Attentive. Wine list is tastefully selected and expansive.
I would say a 4 1/2 stars.Came here for dinner and had a good time. I had the risotto (special of the day for $27) and it was delicious. Staff was friendly and very attentive, but still missed something to make it completely unforgettable. Totally recommend if you are looking for a nice and casual place to go.
Excellent service great food n prices
Service is horrible. We sat at the bar and just wanted prosecco- every time we needed a new glass, we had to wait and flag someone down. The interior is beautiful and we didnt eat so we cant rate the food.
Delicious food and excellent service. Stopped in for dinner before seeing a show and the staff was very helpful with the menu and ensured we had our meal in time to get to our show.
Fantastic food and ambiance 🥂 highly reccomend if you’re in the neighborhood. Prices are great.
Briciola Restaurant is an absolute gem! My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed. The charcuterie board they offer is a work of art - a delightful assortment of cheeses, cured meats, and perfectly paired accompaniments. Each bite was a flavor explosion! But what truly sets Briciola apart is their top-notch staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a valued guest. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and provided attentive service throughout the evening. To top it off, the prices were incredibly reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. Briciola has become my go-to spot for an exquisite dining experience that won’t break the bank. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommended! 🍽️👏
Excellent Italian food, great atmosphere.
Delicious food! Everything we ordered was Great (mussels, mushroom toast, buffalo mozzarella with heirloom Toms, spaghetti & meatballs, prosciutto wrapped mozarella)
DELICIOUS late night dinner. The lobster Ravioli, Kale salad and meatballs... yum.
Returned on a Sat night date, and hands down an absolute 💯 hit. Service Food, and Ambience was excellent. Amazed at how this small restaurant can produce such greatness.First time 4mos ago....Perfect! Will be back.
Catarina was an awesome server. Great place for a business dinner.
Great atmosphere and service. Nice mix of Italian food and wine. The food is okay, not great. For example, the gnocchi was very salty, the burrata was okay, and the bread served was mediocre. The tiramisu was okay not great as well.Over all a nice experience but nothing to write home about.
Nice little Italian diner. That serve small plates. The food was really good! Small portions but big on flavor. The octopus salad is worth trying.
My family & I visited NYC several years ago and stumbled upon this tiny place. The food is fabulous!! We were back in NYC a year later on a layover and made sure we had time to eat there; again the food was fabulous. Im planning another trip and will definitely being going again. Cannot say enough good things about this place and am SO happy it survived Corona.
Had dinner with friends here, the service was incredible and food was amazing! I would say the only thing is its a little on the smaller side but youre in Hells kitchen so thats a given.
Friendly service, great food. Give it a try and you will be glad you did
Atmosphere was fantastic and Liu was phenomenal. Energetic, delightful and very knowledgeable of all the menu items. Lobster ravioli was the best I’ve ever had, good portion for the price, pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce….the sauce was absolutely delicious. Mozzarella saporiita was a must add for appetizer. The tiramisu was quite honestly, unbelievably good and the chocolate soufflé was the big hit of the table. . So happy that we stumbled on this gem.
Everything about this experience was phenomenal. Service, late night atmosphere, wine, food, the works.
The dish is delicious. Its good. I have been many times and always like the food. Just look at the plate. unacceptable. For the attention of the owner and manager.
Be aware this place is TINY! Not a place to bring a large group, during dinner you will be packed elbow to elbow, which can be somewhat uncomfortableYet, the service is top-notch and the food excellent. The eggplant and goat cheese appetizer is exceptional and the different pastas are wonderful..The food is definitely worth coming here for if you can look past the extremely crammed space.
Bustling place, yummy food, great wine by the glass options. Service excellent. Easy to return to. Location great for shows.
Really good pizzas and a nice terrace.
A real gem of a place in Hell’s Kitchen. It’s really small inside so the outside seating is a real boon. It’s not much for decor but the food is great and our server was really friendly. We started with grilled eggplant with goat cheese. Super tasty, and quite filling. Next we had scampi with roasted garlic and olive oil. Big scampis with lots of olive oil for bread dipping. The caesar salad had lots of fresh grated cheese and anchovies. We tried 4 pastas for sharing. My favourites were the Tagliatelle Bolognese and the special lobster ravioli. The Linguine Vongole was nice and light. The Rapini was a bit plain, not as good as our other dishes. Prices were quite reasonable and portions generous. Our party of four was very full after our meal. It’s definitely worth a return visit.Drop me a comment or a like if you found this helpful.
Fantastic Italian restaurant away from Times Square but still with in walking distance. There is seating at the bar and the restaurant seating is one room with a single long table in the middle. The walls around the table are surrounded by wines and the front window looks out to the street. Great ambience and atmosphere and despite it only being a single table, we found it quite enjoyable talking with the couple seated beside us. The grilled octopus was amazing and so were all of our pasta dishes. To order you circle the items you want on the menu, which I found nice since I would have butchered the names of the dishes. Will definitely return to on our next visit.
You can either sit at the bar or in the adjacent room at a long high-top table. The food is out of this world. I went with my family and we ordered the Gorgonzola Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Speck, Ravioli Ricotta (in a Parmesan Cream Sauce with Spinach), Buffalo Mozzarella with Heirloom Tomatoes and Fresh Basil, and the Gnocchi in a Truffle Cream Sauce. All were phenomenal. I cant recommend one dish, I have to recommend all.
Food was good. Portion sizes are small and so is the sitting space, especially for the party of 8 I was with. Only one toilet in the place so if youre a tourist good luck, because they dont want to wait for you to use the bathroom...they were practically pushing us out the door to leave. They cleaned the tables off with the left over bottle of water from our dinner, and our dirty used napkins which grossed me out since sanitizing is essential when food is involved. Wouldnt recommend to a friend, and would not go here again.
3.75 stars. Service was great. Our waitress was very nice. The cheese and bread plate left us desiring something a bit more. They were unfortunately out of our top two wine choices. Food was tasty but fairly run of the mill. The indoor seating with wood and exposed brick was very cute. Great little date spot.
Great little spot with authentic food. The prices are very reasonable too. It’s a tight space so be ready for a loud / cramped environment, but the food is worth it!
Excellent restaurant with healthy tasty choices. Octopus salad is very good. The gnocchi truffle is also superb. The seating area is very tight as it is a long table. They have another restaurant with the same menu across the street called laboratorio. Recommend both restaurants
Super cute. Great pasta and wine thats reasonably priced (especially for the city). Would highly recommend!!
We tried here before a show and were not disappointed. There is bar, inside, and outside seating. The food is traditional Italian with many specials. We had the seafood cakes, polpette, lasagna, and orechiette, and all were delicious. The wines were good.
Really pleasant food, service, atmosphere and a good value. Great free bread service and they were flexible about changing menu items for us. However, be aware that unless you sit at the bar or outside you’ll be at a long communal table right beside other parties. All the other patrons seemed surprised, and so was I. Great for pre-show dinner.
Everything was absolutely delicious! Great service as well. Highly recommended!
This is my partner and Is favorite restaurant in the city - we go whenever we get the chance. The food is spectacular, fresh and well priced. The service is great too!
I really like the design if this place. Friendly staff helping you with your selection of food and wine also added to the experience. Im not all that familiar with Mac and cheese so I thought, if Im gonna try it, I might as well try in in a good restaurant, known for making a killer version of this well known comfort food. Not disappointed, the Mac n cheese with black truffle out of the oven was to die for, really good experience. The risotto was also great!
As others have commented, the owner, and staff, have attitudes not fit for the restaurant industry and I dont welcome this restaurant in my neighborhood. The restaurant is small. Only one person in a party need go in to ask for a table for two so as not to cause traffic and block the legally required fire exit. Its typical in the city for the other to stand just outside. We waited together outside for us to be called but we never were, and the rude people waiting inside blocking the entrance, should not be prioritized when a table finally opens because we were politely waiting just outside on the bench. When we confronted the staff, the staff member showed us to the owner, who cussed us out of the restaurant. I welcome the day this place is replaced.Had gone multiple times, food is great, but not for the service. It doesnt belong in New York.
My boyfriend, sister, and I were looking for a place to eat late Sunday evening. We walked around and found this place. By far the best impulse restaurant decision we made! The food was perfectly seasoned and absolutely gorgeous. We shared the gnocchi, ravioli, caprese salad, and chocolate soufflé dessert. Everything was perfection!
Briciola is the best but Liu and the staff make the experience that much more special! We discovered the restaurant back in fall 2021 and have continued to come back frequently with friends and family. I hosted a birthday dinner at Briciola a few weeks ago and the team went so above and beyond to make it a special night that we are still reminiscing about weeks later. We have yet to try a dish we haven’t liked here but highly recommend the pecorino e kale salad, meatballs, and stewed calamari to start. You can’t go wrong with any of the pastas but we love the bolognese, baked mac and cheese with truffle, and pesto pasta with artichokes. Briciola is also so great with allergies and can accommodate any allergies or dietary restrictions within your group. We will keep coming back and have loved every meal at Briciola with Liu and team!
The tagliatelle was delicious! Well priced and attentive service. Great for dinner and a show.
We stumbled upon this place while looking for a late night restaurant after attending a show in Times Square. We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in the midst of this bustling city! I had the hand made Gnocchi in tomato sauce and the Arugala salad. It was made to perfection :) That also had a nice red wine from Montalcino. The manager “CY” was very friendly and helpful. I’d love to go back
Excellent versions of classic Italian dishes, and an exquisite wine selection. This small yet welcoming place offers one long communal high-chair table, which creates a nice intimate dining experience. The Linguini with Clams was simple but excellent (which is the best kind of Pasta dish). The Octopus appetizer was delicious too. A great find!
Incredible food. Service that made you feel like family. Delicious wine. Amazing and unique specials. Highly recommend. Best meal we had in NYC by far!!!
I had the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe which was only OK. The texture of the pasta did not taste very fresh in my opinion and there was not much flavor in the dish. I would not get this dish again. My friend got the fettuccine with wild mushrooms and truffle oil and that dish was much better than the orecchiette due to more sauce and more flavoring. The bread they gave us at the start seemed old and not fresh.Service was fine. The ambiance of the place is dark, some lighting and diners share one long table which could be awkward if you want more privacy to talk to whoever youre eating with. It could be more of a communal feel if you’re into that.
Good tasty food. Pesto and artichoke pasta 🍝 = 😋They have lunch special of $18 for house wine (red or white) with pasta (which is regular $16).. sweet deal. Nice bread as well. Decent wine by glass. Great quick lunch.
So happy to have stopped here for lunch. The food and wine were very satisfying.
The service was fast and attentive. I really liked the interior, very authentic. From my perspective the w was not truly italian, but tasty. Recommend!
Small and always packed. You sit either at the bar or a community table. Food is great as well as price point. Tried octopus at 2 different times and both came perfectly grilled. Try their homemade pastas.
Quaint backstreet Italian bistro with great service and friendly staff. Small but nice selections of Italian and Mediterranean fare.
Trash. Total trash. This was once a great spot. I’ve been coming here and to their other spots since opening night of the original Aria in the WV.It now embodies everything terrible about the post covid nyc restaurant scene-underwhelming food, small portions, high prices.I’m a firm believer restaurants should have a reason to exist. “I wanna open a restaurant” doesn’t cut it in NYC. Even worse is to dish out sub-par Italian food to unsuspecting tourists.P.S. Good thing I wrote this before i got the bill. Otherwise they’d have lost a star. Or three.
Fantastic small Italian plates at reasonable prices. But forget reasonable and get some good wine, too. Family style seating at only two tables with a Max occupancy of only about 20 people, so be prepared to chat with your neighbors. Save room for the tiramisu; youll regret it if you dont.
I sat at the bar and had many hiccups... dirty wineglass, caesar salad overpowered by anchovies and the truffle gnocchi pasta was very underwhelming. The fruit flies drove me crazy and I was here in October couldn’t imagine the summer months. No complaints about the wine and bread/oil /vinegar. Very Walkable from Times Square which I found convenient.
Wonderful cozy restaurant with great food! Liu was the best! Amazing lamb chops and mango salad. We are coming back for pasta!
TL;DR - decent food, felt like a sardine, more packed than economy class on an Asian airline.Ordered a variety of pastas and small plates, didnt have any complaints about any of the dishes, though nothing stood out either (except maybe the Crostini Porchetta). Wait staff were courteous and while the bathroom is small, even by NYC standards, it was decently clean. The real kicker is that this place only has 1 bar and 1 communal table...which means youre bumping elbows with people next to you. If youre down to meet new people then no problem, but if youre hoping to have an intimate 1 on 1, expect to hear and feel everyone around you. I didnt personally have a problem with this since my seat neighbors were all on the petite side but if youve got anything more than a dad bod, expect otherwise.
Gluten free penne was terrible, tasting like bad store bought, rather than freshly made.Pesto+ was very good.
Best food we’ve had in nyc so far, speedy service, excellent and reasonably priced wine, perfect portion sizes, and wonderful waiters.
This is my favourite restaurant in NYC. Small and hidden away, it would be hard to know this place is here. It brings the same menu as its sister-restaurant, Aria in west village. Everything on the menu is fantastic. i mean everything. you cannot go wrong. Nothing over $16 (except specials), all share plates. The wine list is the same, theyre all great. The staff are an interesting mix - the latinos in the kitchen are non-stop. In full view of everyone, with very limited light and in a tiny space they create such amazing food. very impressive. The waitresses are always polite and nimble, moving through the tiny space with ease as if no one was there, and the manager, who is generally behind the bar, is a great character. you get all his French vibe at first but he is very accommodating and cares about the quality of your experience. The families who own this restaurant do such a fantastic job with all their restaurants, but Bricciola is my fav.
Small cozy place. Lamb chop is delicious
Tasty food at reasonable price
This place was amazing.. the ambience is really cool . The food was off the chains . Definitely seems very authentic. The service was really good and friendly and the wine is super delicious. Surely a place to check out and highly recommended.
This place is unknown on trip advisor but yelp pointed the way-exceptional!
Nice wine bar with a good selection of wines and a surprisingly vast selection of tasty small plates. Can be a bit tight seating-wise. Bartenders are very friendly.Edit: been back here a few more times and its my favorite place in Hells Kitchen. Im actually a big fan of all of the Passons places, their food is consistently top notch and their places and very well run.
Such a cute place! Its cozy, rustic atmosphere was inviting and the food and wine were delicious. You have to be ready to rub elbows with your neighbors but its so worth it! We would definitely go back!
One of the better Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. Great food, reasonable pricing, good service. 👍
We were able to find a spot at the bar on Sunday night. They actually have two spots just across from each other. Good selection of pastas and wines. I wish they had nicer glasses for wine though. The ricotta cheesecake with strawberry jam and ice cream was unexpectedly really tasty.
Ive only had the wine. The French bartender, his French friends, and a drunk Danish man helped us to pick great wine and have a fun time. Theyve expanded since I first visited in November of 2012, so they must have success. Sometimes they offer $1 oysters with your wine.
Fast fresh made pastaConvenient location after night clubsI will be back again
Absolutely perfect pasta and sauce! We needed this meal! The table/reservation was easy to modify after our train was late. Our servers were patient and wonderful!
We had a really bad experience with our waitress - Sarah - rude, pushy and ultimately deceptive. We both had quartinos of wine and were up charged for the wine. Of course the food was very good, as expected, but our experience has been spoiled by this one waitress. We wanted to be regulars but we will be moving on.
Lobster ravioli, spaghetti, cheese cake and lava cake was good. Small sitting space inside. Receipts are not able to be printed, was with a group, we had to take a picture off handheld machine to breakdown everyones bill.
Best mussels and pasta Ive ever had, definitely recommend
Its the best Italian food you can get in Hells kitchen and the prices will blow your mind, in a good way. Its a cozy space with wine bottles all around you. Theres definitely a lack of privacy coz theres only one or two long tables, but the food and the price just beats it.
Food is nothing from another world, dishes are not that big, you definitely have to have a starter or so, otherwise you will not get satisfied. There was only a waitress that was de bar tender at the same time, service was very poor unfortunately, I asked for bread to have it with the pasta, it came to the table once I finished dinner
Recommend their mango salad, gnocchi, and bruschetta.
What an unpleasant end of our mediocre dinner. We are an Italian couple, hence the comments and feedback about the food are well grounded. Also, we live in the States hence we know the good habit of leaving tips.We must say that the place is cozy and unique (with wine bottles surrounding the walls and dim lights) and the menu itself is quite nice at first glance. We ordered two glasses of wine, two appetisers (costicine di maiale and bruschetta di porchetta) and a main dish (orecchiette with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe). The first two glasses of wine were terrible - as acid and sour as they could get, definitely a very low quality of Valpollicella. Obviously, since we did not want to be having stomach pain, after the first sip, my husband and I asked to change them. This change wasn’t welcomed by our waitress, who then came back and with a very FAKE SMILE gave us the wine menu again and asked us to choose. But let’s move on.The two appetizers were ok. The main dish, which was the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe, was an insult to Italian kitchen. What we received was orecchiette pasta sautéed with a bunch of garlic and some huge pieces of broccoli rabe and sliced Italian sausage. Any average cook would know that this is NOT how to make that pasta sauce. We told ourselves that we cannot expect everything to be as it would be in Italy, so lets move on again. While we wait to ask for the bill (the waitress only came back to ask about dessert and pour water once) no one seemed to be there to attend us. In the mean time, the two South American chefs, were both videos on their iPhones in the open kitchen - I wish it had been a video on how to make a decent orecchiette pasta but I am afraid it wasn’t. Unacceptable to see staff minding their own business during working hours. When paying, we decided to leave only 10% tip for a variety of reasons: the fake smile and attitude of both waitress, the fact that we haven’t seen them much during the dinner - even when we had finished everything and our wine glasses were empty. However the cherry on the cake arrives when the waitress approached my husband at the exit door and said angrily “here in America the tip must be 15% even if the service is bad”. (Oh really? We are both young professionals and when we do something wrong and do not treat customers properly we don’t get any tip.). He then started explaining the reasons why we only left 10% tip and at that point I jumped in to tell them we were living. The last sentence that came fromthe waitress was a sound “DON’T COME BACK ANYMORE”.Unprofessional, rude and mediocre. We won’t be coming back, AS YOU CLEARLY STATED, nor recommended to our wide network. There are so many italian places that are worth going to, and that treat customers as they should be treated.Unprofessional, rude and mediocre.
Amazing food, cozy atmosphere, great service. I got the bolognese with gluten free pasta. I couldn’t tell it was gluten free. Perfectly al dente, great flavor. The grilled shrimp with polenta appetizer was scrumptious.
It was great restaurant. Food, atmosphere, staff were great. Reasonable too.
Good food with a comfortable seating area. Can’t ask for much more than that!
Good spot for small bites! Started with grilled octopus salad, had the Mozzarella Pomodoro Basilico and tried the Ravioli Ricotta. Star of the night was the octopus. Grilled perfectly to a crispy outside and a soft and melty inside. The Mozz was on par but not impressive and the ravioli was a bit bland for a cheese heavy dish but the menu calls for subtle tastes. Packed place but doesnt feel too cramped. Tiramisu was ok.
Was really cozy. Inside had AC which was a big plus. The appetizers in the photo were great way to start the meal. Service was impeccable despite how busy it was.
Excellent dining experience! The pasta was super tasty and delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful! Thanks for a great dining experience.
Love this place. Food is delicious, everything I have ordered has been excellent! They have a great wine called Rosso Di Montalcino. Gotta try it! The bartender said it is from Tuscany and it went perfect with my meal. He really knows his stuff :)
NOTE*** This rating applied to meal delivered from Briciola...I visited New York in July with family. One particular evening I decided to remain in our suite at the Hilton Vacation Club on West 57th St. and order a meal from a nearby restaurant. After scouring a vast variety of places, I decided upon the well-reviewed BRICIOLA. The menu had an extensive variety of untraditional meal options that were tantalizing and left me excited and giddy as a school girl to try. I started my meal with the Caprese Salad, followed by Linguine with Clams, and ending with Cheesecake. Although pricey compared to Florida standards; I was in New York (meal, tip, and fees - $65). I was more than willing to pay this because the photos I saw on the review told me it would be more than worth it to enjoy such a fabulous meal. What I received, by delivery, was far, far less than I expected. The tomatoes on the salad were very mushy, almost if they had been frozen and thawed or left refrigerated too long. The linguine .... (see for yourself in the photos attached... There is a review photo of this dish on Oct. 2021 by Karen N that reflects what this dish should have looked like). The cheesecake was as small as the tiny fork which came with it and basic. Taste wise, it was a huge disappointment. Briciola seems to have separate standards for the food they put out depending if it is dine in or delivery. My rating is for delivered Bricioa meal/ As I did not try the dine in, it would be unfair of me to rate the full venue.
Found this place randomly as it was pretty busy on a weeknight. They have lots of cute outdoor seating with tasty pasta.
A fairly quiet and small Italian restaurant in Hells kitchen. With a simple but effective menu to choose from. And lots of very good wines. Always an enjoyable evening.
Overrated resterant the food is mostly oily with alote of cheas. We ordered nyoki with mashroms but it was mostly chease with 3 small pieces of mashrom. Sane goes for rhe rwst of the dishes. We couldnt finish the dishes because it was too oily.
Food and drinks menu are the same as the Aria Hell’s Kitchen (sister restaurant) across the street. However, the service felt really rushed and we were charged 20% tip automatically because we “stayed for more than 1.5 hours”. No one had informed us of this policy prior to charging us. Moreover, the atmosphere is way too loud and one can hardly hear oneself think, let alone speak. If you are looking for a nice dinner and conversation, instead of a quick bite and a drink, this is not the place for you.
What an awesome spot to stop at to get away from the NYC hustle and bustle! Small, cozy. Great eats. Have a wine and see which small plates call to you. Or go for a full entree. All good!
Portions and prices reflect the citys real estate. Ordered a soppressata meat platter and got 4 measly slices. My linguine von gole had a total of 5 clams. 5! Not worth the price, even if it was delicious.
Probably one of the very few places in Manhattan that has good service, quality of food, proper wine and you don’t have to pay a fortune. Love the place and definitely worth every penny
Cute little Italian place in the middle of NYC. It’s not exactly just like in Firenze or Roma but close enough for another continent. We loved the beef carpaccio and the lobster ravioli. The gnocchi were a little bit too filling and heavy. The staff was very friendly and the prices are very much ok for NYC. Definitely recommend after a broadway show as well, as the places stays open quite late !
The burrata surrounded by prosciutto, drizzled with balsamic vinegar was phenomenal! I wish I could say the same about the mains, but I have since forgotten what I ordered. The suckling pig starter could do with a little more seasoning, but it was nice and meaty. The space is small and tight, so expect to bump into people and be bumped.
Great service, LOVED the octopus salad!!! The spaghetti with meatballs was way too salty, but delicious. Wish they didnt make it so salty. On the other hand, the truffle gnocchi was pricey and nothing special about it but that it tasted like gnocchi with lots of cheese and cream. We went at about 4:30, but it started getting really crowded, sitting elbow to elbow with strangers, nowhere to put purse. The meal felt overpriced for what it really was. The octopus salad was the only thing that I might want from what we ate here.
I love this place:)That time i wanna eat cream pasta!!They have one creamy source pasta However waiter told me “you can change a source!”That’s why i ordered a creamy pastaHe was so kind and tasty also awesome and restaurant mood is so nice:))
Phenomenal! We had two of the special dishes of that evening and it was definitely the best mushroom risotto I have ever had, and the truffle gnocchi was equally amazing. I highly recommend a visit to Briciola.
Best pesto pasta Ive ever had
Intimate, very cosy and tasteful place with delicious food and professionally friendly personnel. Will definitely return on my next trip to NY! Oysters and tagliatelle bolognese are my two favs this time.
We went after a Broadway show! We just happened upon it, and we are so glad we did! The food was delicious and the service was great! Need to go back soon!
The food is good and many of the dishes are meant to be shared. There’s not much seating but Aria next door has the same menu and more seating.
I love Italian food! It is incredible that in Manhattan, the big apple, you can find an excellent Italian restaurant. My husband is lucky I can wait longer to return to Italy.
The food is excellent and the service was great!!
Best Italian restaurant in Harlem. Pizza is fabulous and the pasta is to die for. I recommend anyone who vist Briciola in Harlem when they get a chance.
Good food and helpful staff. If the weather is nice, sit outside! :)
