Blue seafood bar and eatery is beautiful to come to at the time of 6:00 pm because during the dinner the ambiance changes to the evening ambiance. It is a beautiful environment, nice bar, and excellent food. It is worthwhile to come here even as early as 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to enjoy the happy hour during the week ‼️

I discovered Blue Seafood Bar by googling best seafood places to take parents for dinner in New York City, and it did not disappoint. The charm and rustic ambiance captivated us as soon as we walked in. Once seated, we were warmly greeted by our server, Fernanda, who set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The menu offers something for everyone, but we were particularly drawn to the seafood tower, knowing it would delight my mother. I indulged in the lobster eggs Benedict, and we shared a side of grilled vegetables that were cooked to perfection. The starter bread, served with flaky salt, oil, balsamic, and an exquisite anchovy-based dip, tasted like it was baked fresh by someones grandma in the back. The clientele seemed like regulars, fostering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Fresh clams and oysters on ice greet you at the entrance, assuring the freshness of the seafood. The seafood tower was the highlight, with an array of dipping options including vinegar, cocktail sauce, Tabasco, lemon, and an unforgettable lemon aioli. This aioli paired perfectly with the chilled seafood and the potatoes that came with my lobster Benedict. The eggs were cooked to perfection—perfectly runny inside but fully cooked whites, a rare feat for many restaurants. The open kitchen allowed us to watch our food being prepared, adding to the overall vibe. Plus-size friendly, the seating was comfortable with adjustable chairs and a cozy booth in the back where we sat. The molten lava cake for dessert was a must-try, brought out piping hot with fresh berries. They sang happy birthday to my mom in a delightful yet unobtrusive manner. Our fantastic experience was largely thanks to Fernanda (pictured in the review) and the other staff members. If I could give Fernanda a 10 out of 5, I would! I highly recommend Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery —5 out of 5 stars!

We went to Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery after a Broadway show on November 10, 2024. We were celebrating my birthday. I had the Salmon entree. It was delicious. The Salmon seemed fresh. The capers, butter, and lemon sauce were perfectly tart and tangy. The service was AMAZING. The atmosphere seemed to be mostly locals; I live in Hell’s Kitchen as well. I would recommend this restaurant, but I must warn you: DO NOT ORDER THE OYSTERS! We got the plate that sampled two of each type of oyster on the menu at $56.00. I am no oyster connoisseur. I have only in my life had fresh oyster from the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. Blue Seafood’s oysters were tasteless globs of …. well, I. am at a loss of words just as the oysters are at a loss of flavor. I ate a few, just to be kind. I don’t want to write anymore about that horrible experience. But I must repeat: our server was amazing, and very knowledgeable. Our entrees were superb. Just remember: DO NOT ORDER THE OYSTERS! (in my opinion),

Went here for a solo date. It wasn’t particularly busy, yet service still took quite some time to get everything out. For such a small space, I had some difficulty trying to get my server’s attention.Besides that, the oysters were delicious, my cocktail was refreshing, but the bread trio was just ok. However, still an enjoyable experience and my meal was tasty enough.

I had an amazing lunch at Blue today! As soon as you step in, it’s almost like you’re not in Manhattan anymore - the decor inside is beautiful and charming, and the service is extremely personable and attentive. Upon talking to my waiter more, we found out that the restaurant is a sister to Medi Wine bar and Giardino. I ordered the Lunch Prix Fixe with a Manhattan Clam Chowder and a Cheeseburger. The clam chowder was excellent with fresh clams and beautifully toasted bread as an accompaniment. The burger was insanely juicy and well-cooked, and came with crispy fries. Others at my table ordered the Fish and Chips and the Linguine with Clams. All were freshly prepared and delicious. I will definitely be returning to Blue for some of the freshest food in the city, and a beautiful transport away from the city conveniently in Hell’s Kitchen.

Came here before a show and decided to have the preset menu. I had the tricolore salad, along with the salmon and white beans, and a coffee crème brûlée for desert. The salad was very good, I do wish had just a touch more dressing on it. The goat cheese and toasted almonds were wonderful. My main, the salmon, was my favorite. It was buttery and cooked until it was basically melting in my mouth. The beans and lemon sauce were the perfect compliment to the fish. Very filling but not too heavy. The crème brûlée was also very good. A nice coffee flavor, not too bitter or sweet. Wonderful way to finish out my meal.

What a gem! The staff was lovely. The decor was perfect; not too overdone on the nautical theme. The food was excellent! You can tell that the chefs really cook with love here. I sampled my friends halumi, and now I cant wait to go back for more, it was soo good! We got the seafood platter, which had some of the biggest claims Ive ever seen. The platter really impressed me, because it had a variety of seafood, that all have different cook times and temperatures, but it was all perfect, and still hot. That takes a lot of skill to pull off! We also got the fish and chips, the tuna steak, and a cheese platter. Everything was excellent. Cant wait to go back for more. We were having such a good time, that I forgot to take pictures of everything.

I recently hit up Blue Seafood and Bar for brunch, and let me tell you, this spot is a breath of fresh air in NYCs brunch scene of throw an egg on top of everything. The nautical-themed decor with its cool blue tones and marine art gives off a chill, elegant feel. The service was good: friendly, knowledgeable staff who are there when you need them but don’t hover. It makes the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. They kick things off with this amazing caponata and crusty bread. Its a sweet, sour, and savory eggplant relish that had me hooked from the first bite. Such a great way to start the meal.I started with the Kumamoto oysters, and wow, they were fresh and briny with just the right touch of sweetness. The mignonette sauce added a nice zing, making them an absolute treat. The seafood salad came next, and it was a colorful, fresh mix of shrimp, scallops, and calamari in a light, citrusy dressing. Super refreshing and tasty—definitely not your average brunch salad. For the main event, I went with the classic 2 eggs, which came with a side of mixed greens and roasted potatoes. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the salad was crisp and lightly dressed, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Simple, but done right. What I loved most about Blue Seafood and Bar is that they don’t stick to the usual brunch clichés. Their menu has real variety and quality, which makes it stand out from the crowd. You can even order from their regular menu. So, if youre looking for a brunch spot that’s a cut above the rest, with great food and a cool vibe, you’ve got to check out Blue Seafood and Bar. It’s definitely worth a visit!

The food was mediocre at best. The seafood pasta had really small scallop, taste decent, the tuna wasnt really on par with the price you pay for (44 dollars ) tasted more like tuna that is around 20 dollars. Sausage on a toast cost 28 dollars that should cost 14 at most. The pizza crust was okay, but the sauce tasted strange and the meat wasnt so fresh. The waiters were nice, but forgot some orders. Basically for what you are getting its not worth it.

The Scallop Carpaccio is absolutely creamy with a perfect blend of saltiness which against the cucumber was harmony on our mouths. We didn’t eat any cooked food (yet) and did not have a drink (yet as well). I love the ambience of this restaurant. However like all of NY it is extremely cramped, packed like sardines. The hostess was kind enough to seat us without a reservation and told us we had the table for just under 2 hours. We really appreciated that because it was more than enough time. The server was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the house clam chowder and crab cakes. My friend, the birthday girl, ordered the crab cakes and an entree. The crab cakes were appetizers and since Id ordered 2 appetizers the waitress decided to bring my crab cakes out with my friends entree. As luck would have it, that was the best decision. My friend ate one of her crab cakes silently while I raved about my soup (it was too loose to be chowder). It was very good. She told me to cancel my crab cake order then told me to taste hers. 🤮. They werent good at all. You tasted mostly breading and the ingredients mixed with the minimal crab was not flavorful or enjoyable at all. She was too uneasy to send them back. I immediately canceled my order and finished my soup while my friend ate her entree (which she enjoyed). We quickly understood why you needed a reservation because halfway through our meal the restaurant quickly started filling up. We were so fortunate to have gotten there early. The space between the tables and chairs are extremely difficult to pass through. Overall we enjoyed the meal however, I caution anyone ordering the crab cakes. They were $27 for blah.

First time customer, sat at the bar, food was amazing, ordered oysters & mussels. However, I ordered a Riesling& caught bartender (female) don’t know her name because she never disclosed it, pouring me a Chardonnay VS a Resiling. I instantly spoke up & she acted like nothing and switched it.Not cool at all. So if I would have never saw her then I would have been fooled drinking the incorrect wine & getting charged for something more expensive. She would have charged me for a riesling but in reality I would have been drinking a Chardonnay house wine.

The food overall was good, but my oysters were filled with grit and sand. After we finished our dozen oysters, the tray was not removed from our table for almost 15 minutes. Not one server or busser paid us any attention. It was an early Saturday night, but the servers seemed frazzled.

I wish I had taken pictures but this place was delicious. To start the dipping oil with zucchini was amazing. I have been trying to find a recipe online to re-create that at home. We had several different types of oysters all good. My ravioli with wild mushroom and vodka sauce was excellent and the portion was very filling. My sister got the Lobster bisque pasta and that was a surprising dish that tasted just like the soup but not as creamy. My nephew got the burrata pizza and it was basically a glorified margarita pizza but crust was excellent and just a perfect simple pizza to share or not. My niece got crab legs and shrimp cocktail and I will take her word that is was all tasty as she did not share.Wine list was the only thing I feel needs to be a little more well-rounded with its offerings but overall a wonderful experience! We had a reservation and so glad we did as the place was packed by the time we left...

It was a party of four we were accommodated quickly. The food was excellent and the service was decent. Being a former restaurant owner myself, So I would be a little more critical on the service but the regular diner probably wouldnt notice the stuff I do and have a very enjoyable experience. Being in Hells Kitchen with an array of every cuisine you can think in the world if you want a very low key great meal and a more intimate setting than the blasting music at happy hour then this is the place for you. I will definitely go back, because Im crushing on the waitress I thought she was breathtaking. No but I will go back for a great meal again

Blue is known for its tapas for a reason. We didnt even get into the rest of the menu (which was incredible based on our neighboring tables review). The croquetas, frito mixto, and New England Chowder were fresh and delicious. The service was attentive, professional and fun, and the ambiance was relaxed but elevated. Ill definitely be back!Accessibility: Flat open floor plan. Bathroom is gender neutral but may be small for a wheelchair.

Ka
Review №191

We’ve been going to Blue pretty regularly for happy hour lately (the $2 east coast oysters are very good - good value). Service is slow - you have to wave down your server to get a refill. But, seems like ownership is out to catch you with the happy hour drinks and I’ve mentioned it to staff there but it seems to be a waste of time (hence my low review). In 90% of bars and restaurants around the city, a Stella Artois (50 cl / 16oz goblet) costs $9. So when I saw the happy hour for $7, I thought this was a good deal. Until I realized that they serve the happy hour drinks in the small half pint glasses (10oz). So, in reality, they are selling me their Stella for $11.20 for an equivalent 16oz during happy hour. Not good and not enduring to your locals. Please make happy hour a true happy hour and not con-artist hour.
