Cute and fun brunch spot in the west village.. some cool, kind of on the healthier side options. They dont take reservations so had to wait 20mins on a Saturday morning which was fine. Service was good, food was nice, nothing show-stopping. But would defo go again and will try the other locations.

After knowing they are doing $1 pastry promotion in March. We decided to give it a try for a brunch, since we loved their pastries which are supplied by Balthazar. It was a pretty good experience, friendly staffs and easy to get our table for two without wait. I would rate them a 5 star for a brunch experience, if they could have had free refill coffee…well, just like any other local diners. Lastly, restroom’s hygiene is to be improved.

We walked by this place and got breakfast here. It was really good! I got the Golden Folded Eggs and my gf got the Nutella Stuffed French Toast. The food came out quickly and was delicious.I also got a cappuccino, which was smaller than I prefer but was topped with crumbled chocolate and made perfectly. This place would be great for either a sit down brunch or a cup of coffee and a book. Will return.

Lunch for 5 on a Saturday. Fried chicken sandwiches were excellent. Thin, tender, crispy chicken breast meat and great flavors. Plus sweet potato fries. Bowls were also very good, fresh veggies, nice dressing, and the same tender chicken, grilled instead of fried (poached egg instead of chicken was great, too). We had a 30 minute wait at 12:30 pm.

Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday with the dog the staff was very kind and accommodating.Got the fried chicken sandwich and wanted to love it but unfortunately did not.The bun was stale… the chicken was dry missing sauce or flavor…The sweet potato fries were super salty you can even see in the photo.Hope they fix - a chicken sandwich is a must have and must be top notch.

Its a good place, pricey for what you get. Please check your receipt once you get it. They will add $2.50 because the machine wasnt updated. There is no correlation between prices indicated in the Menu and your check.Quantities are not what youd expect. It has healthy options for sure however 1/3 more would be great. Even if you cant finish, you can always get it to go.Service is good just a little bit too fast and pushy. Coming from Europe I dont like to be rushed that way. There must be a balance. Just look at how small the portions are.

The beautiful Brit bird brought me the best healthy breakfast, ever. Adept baristas and staff suggested banana bread to keep me from falling too deep into those greens of hers. The Mona Lisa, and a movie star greeted me at the door. Pictures of food? Go. Taste. Gaze. Redux! Update: 3 visits. No fluke. Really good, solid fare. “Penelope the Strong” found the juice. “To the moon and back…”

You can tell this is an aussie cafe because a) the flat white is outstanding b) they prioritise both great coffee AND great food and c) the service is laid back and attentive. I had a truly disappointing experience at this brunch spot. First of all, the service was shockingly rude. We were practically pushed out into the pouring rain without even a moments grace to wait for our cab under cover. To make matters worse, they had the audacity to suggest a minimum tip of 20%, which I found ridiculous given the quality of service we received. The seating was incredibly cramped, making it uncomfortable to enjoy our meal.As for the coffee, it was over-extracted, resulting in a bitter, undrinkable brew. Latte art was good. Food was nothing more than mediocre. Given the low quality of coffee, giving 2 stars, otherwise 3 stars.Save yourself the trouble and explore other dining options nearby; there are plenty of better choices in the area.

My visit to Banter was a pleasant experience. The server was very friendly and attentive. However, when it came to the food, there were a few aspects that could be improved. We ordered the falafel bowl and the mushroom toast. The falafel bowl consisted of a medley of vegetables, sauces, and falafel. While the concept was promising, the falafel’s texture was a bit too soft, which affected the overall flavor negatively. On the other hand, the mushroom toast was somewhat better in my opinion. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection, and the addition of feta cheese complemented the taste quite nicely. However, the addition of sunflower seeds was a bit puzzling, and there was also an excessive amount of lemon juice, which overwhelmed the dish. Additionally, the toast was slightly overtoasted. In summary, the dishes at Banter had potential, but they seemed to lack some finishing touches that could have elevated the dining experience.

My food was good, I had banter bowl with veggies and chicken. Good fresh food.My husband didn’t like his breakfast that much. He had big breakfast. But it might be his personal preferences.3 star is not because of food.Food is ok for the price.Service was inattentive. They brought us check, while putting it on the table they asked if we want something else.We felt rushed out.And we did want to order some sweets, but decided not to, because of that. Also when they were greeting the other guest, the host was texting on the phone while guest was standing in front of them.Last thing:Bathroom. Very dirty. Hand dryer was so dirty that I didn’t want to put my hands into it.Overall place feels nice but not well maintained.Needs a good deep cleaning and bit friendlier service.

Nice place, went in on a Sunday afternoon without reservation, the wait mentioned was 20 mins for table for 3, we waited for half an hr approx. Would recommend going with a reservation. For food , got the falafel bowl and the chicken salad wrap. Got sweet potato fries and salad as sides with these dishes. Both the sides are really tasty. The falafel bowl is good, but the quantity is very less compared to the price of $18. The wrap is okay.In beverages, got matcha latte. It looked very pretty, the matcha was strong and well stirred .A very good place overall for brunch and lattes.

One of our favorite brunch places in NYC. Banter NYC is a mellow spot in Greenwich village which opened in 2016 by friends Nick and Josh. With outdoor dining going strong during covid, we sat outside in the cool sub 5 degree temperatures, but it didnt take away from how delicious the food and great the service was. Now I may be basic but I love a good, well seasoned, Avocado toast and this hit the spot. Who doesnt love a sprinkle of Zaatar? Talking about seasoning, those sweet potato fries - OMG - seasoned to perfection. Finished it off with a Nutella stuffed french toast, because its all about balancing sweet with the savory right? Loved the granola topping on the french toast it added a lovely crunchy texture to dish. Love love love this place.

We were wandering with grumbling bellies when we stumbled upon Banter. Cute little spot that makes you want to love it. Food was okay. My avocado toast was standard but the feta was not crumbly and looked more like marshmallows. I ordered a side of mushrooms so I could have the best of both avo toast and mushroom toast. The mushrooms were bland and didnt add much appeal. My boyfriend got the Big Banter Breakfast and it seems like the perfect combo of all ones breakfast needs but it was kind of just random ingredients put on a plate. Service was good, friendly staff.

Great spot for Sunday Brunch. A tiny restaurant where the espresso machine is prominent in the small, simply decorated dining room. The dishes were presented beautifully as everything that was delivered to the surrounding tables looked delicious. We had the Big Breakfast and BLTA (add scrambled eggs). The sweet potato fries were amazing. The sandwich was very good. The Big Breakfast was a bit too salty and the coffees weren’t hot enough.Service was expedient. They don’t take reservations, but the wait list is managed efficiently. A good experience overall.

Banter quickly became my favorite coffee spot in the Meatpacking District, where I worked every day before COVID. My go-to espresso drink is a cortado, and Banter is one of the only places that *consistently* serves a cortado with the correct espresso to milk ratio. Ive enjoyed the few sit-down lunches Ive had there as well, especially the gluten-free banter bowl with salmon and the gluten-free greens salad with chicken. Lovely atmosphere - trendy yet chilled - delicious food and great friendly & welcoming service. Coffee was lovely and the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries was delicious! Short wait of around 15mins for 3 of us on a Saturday.
