I came here for a 7pm reservation on Saturday in early June with three others before seeing a movie around the block. The weather was gorgeous. The restaurant appears to have nice outdoor dining accommodations but we dined in side the restaurant.The interior of the restaurant creates a nice atmosphere; it feels very comfortable and certainly not cramped. The service was never nice and prompt. The food was fine; not great or bad which seems fairly consistent with most of the dining places in this neighborhood.I would come back here again as pre-movie spot but I likely would not go out of my way to find a reservation on any other occasion.

We had a wonderful time hosting our organization’s gathering at Banc Cafe for brunch!I worked with Tom and Ronan to manage our reservation, select a pre fixe menu, and add additional touches. Tom had the amazing idea to print our organization’s name on the menus - it was such a darling touch that all of the attendees enjoyed!Tom booked 4 tables/booths in the back so we had our own section. The service was very friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly and our coffee/tea was always being refilled. The food was delicious! Tom came to check in periodically to ensure we had everything we needed. We felt so cared for.I highly recommend Banc Cafe for a little get together or a large party gathering!

We visited Banc on December 31st for a family dinner around 6 PM, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! Despite not having a reservation on New Year’s Eve, the manager, Tom, greeted us warmly and went above and beyond to find a table that suited our group of three adults and my 2-year-old daughter.We were seated in the extended seating area—a fully enclosed and heated patio—which was both comfortable and inviting. The entire staff was professional, kind, and knowledgeable, readily answering our questions about the food and drink options. The kids menu was a thoughtful touch, with great portion sizes that worked perfectly for our little one.When it came to the food, everything arrived hot and flavorful, exceeding our expectations. The overall atmosphere, combined with the attentive service, made the evening special for our family.A special thank you to Tom for being so accommodating, welcoming, and especially kind to our daughter. We truly appreciated the personal touch on such a busy night. We’re already looking forward to returning for a drink, date night, or another family dinner in the neighborhood.Highly recommend Banc for anyone looking for excellent food, great service, and a family-friendly environment!

Went for brunch Sunday and sat outside. It was beautiful and their outdoor seating is so beautifully done w lots of flowers everywhere. Food was delicious and service was friendly. Thanks so much for having us!

Always have been a fan of this place. Overall a great happy hour spot with a more upscale feel versus the other notorious post college bars in the area. The food is always great and the drinks/cocktails don’t disappoint. Servers are always great as well!

Always wanted to come here because it’s always crowded. Liked deco ambience music vibe . Came by today 2/19 to have brunch ordered Banc Benedict bacon was still and biscuit was hard. Coffee was very good . Waitress served coffee forgot the spoons to stir. We had to remind her. Menu limited for breakfast but they have lots of drinks on it

Just discovered a place to have great drinks and snacks!I need more of those goat cheese croquettes, theyre delicious!!The jalapeño frozen margarita was a revelation for a hot day in the city.My husband had the chicken tacos and he really liked them, just felt like a good spicy sauce was missing, were mexicans, we cant help it.The fries with parmesan are good but not great, I would try other thing next time,

Happy hour drinks are fantastic!! Tennessee whiskey and watermelon sugar high are great, also the she works hard for the money!! General Tso cauliflower was pretty good too. Will definitely be back.

Looking for a place to go for Brunch today we went here as I liked the look of their Brunch menu. Dont know whether it was due to the memorial day weekend but there werent very many other patrons, consequently we had our choice of the outdoor seating.I went for the fried chicken Belgian waffles and the husband went for the Irish breakfast. I was happy that my waffles were nice and crunchy unlike the normally soft and squishy waffles that you get. The only snag was that because the fried chicken was sandwiched between 2 waffles did mean that the fried chicken coating wasnt that crispy.The Irish Breakfast was a huge dish and the husband also mentioned that the black and white puddings were actually really good. I did notice that instead of chunky fries (AKA chips) theyd substituted it for home fries. The sausages werent of the chunky variety but were nice enough. The blood orange mimosa he had also got a shout out as being delish!All of it was reasonably priced too.Our waiter was pleasant and attentive and we liked the outside seating area, which was nicely shaded even in the very hot 30C weather.Another Brunch place to add to my favourites list - yay!

I ate here at night outdoors in August and had an easy time being seated. There was a loud band playing inside. The appetizers were good!

Banc happy hour is an awesome eclectic taste sensation (and a great deal!). The bao buns and empanadas are especially good, and the sorbet is awesome!With a $9 kids menu, and $10 happy hour plates this may become our go-to eat out!

Great place!! I came here for brunch and it was delicious! Great portions and a great value. Loved the music they had playing too. The place is beautiful and feels upscale but also laidback. Great place to sit outside with friends. Good quick service, not too bad for a N.Y. table on the street restaurant. There are inside tables also, but it resembles more of a pub. Best to get a seat on the sunny side of the building during spring. Sun moves quickly to the opposite side 😊 I had the hamburger very rare and although not nearly 100% lean beef, it was reasonably well prepared.

Beautiful restaurant and bar that is open late. All of our food and drinks were top notch. Special callouts for the Pear salad and Coconut Shrimp! Our server was friendly and helpful. Excellent restaurant.

My friends and I were enjoying our evening when an unexpected incident occurred. While having a polite conversation with someone, a man intervened, placed his hand on me, and attempted to stop the interaction. I calmly asked him not to touch me and inquired if the person I was speaking with was his companion, to which he did not respond. Choosing to de-escalate, I walked away.Shortly after, I was approached by the bouncer and what appeared to be the owner, who asked me to leave without providing any explanation. I complied, paid my tab, and exited without issue.This experience felt unfair and unwarranted. The treatment I received seemed biased, potentially favoring certain patrons or regulars. I am deeply disappointed by this lack of professionalism and respect, and I believe this incident may have been racially motivated. I would not recommend this establishment and am considering legal action to address this matter

We were delightfully, surprised at the elegant menu and the delicious offerings. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and we’re definitely coming back.

Cant believe this place. I ordered a Jagerbomb as any self respecting bar goer would and was served a mixed drink of Jagermeister and Redbull. When I asked for it separate, the bartender just said we dont do that here, whatever that means. I explained that thats what a Jagerbomb is but got stonewalled again. What if Id just ordered a shot of Jagermeister and a glass of Redbull separately? Then would you do it here? This might sound petty but when Im paying $20 a drink Id like it the way I want it, and the way its meant to be. If you take the BOMB out of Jagerbomb, its not much fun anymore, is it?

I have been contemplating this review for a long time!First, I’ve spent 5 years away from NYC and was extremely happy to see the Banc not only surviving Covid-19 situation, but actually doing pretty well.It has been my and my wife’s favorite place for years.Selection of cocktails is impressive and can satisfy most exquisite tastes. My personal choice is the Revival: balanced and fresh with a hint of bitterness.Food is equally amazing. The Banker burger is packed with flavor and juicy, plus it is served with perfect fries on the side (not some oily chunks of potato you can expect at a local joint).Eggs Benedict are work of art, whether you take them with salmon or beef steak!Perfect place for dates (interior could be noisy though - you’d better reserve an outside table in advance).The whole concept of taking a banc and redoing it into a bar is very intriguing. Interior is stylish and well polished. Nothing excessive.Service is polite and efficient.Haven’t had any sort of trouble with this place:)10 out of 10 from me. Come visit it and bring your friends.

This place had a wonderful aura and was decorated beautifully for Halloween. I ordered the bacon butternut squash risotto and it was legitimately the best thing I have ever eaten. Compliments to the chef, 10/10. Drinks and service were also phenomenal. Would definitely recommend coming here if you’re in the neighborhood.

Banc Cafe in midtown Manhattan is an excellent place for food and drinks. They have live music Thursday through Sunday evening and every Sunday, don’t miss out on their half price bottles of wine after 4pm. You must try their espresso martini. One of the best inthe city. Went with 4 friends, seated in a round banquette for 6 at lunch.We all loved the menu, sharing 3 appetizers, then each having a main salad.Service was efficient and friendly.Well definitely return.

Came here to celebrate a special occasion with about a dozen friends. Located on the corner of Third & 30th, with the west facing side completely open, made for a very cool, comfortable breeze and an unobstructed view of all the action passing by on the avenue. Employees were friendly and seems happy to help us. Food was brought out regularly and was pretty tasty. Mostly finger food and desserts. We never felt ignored, nor were the servers overly intrusive. Drinks were very good. Place was crowded but not annoyingly so. Bathrooms were very clean. I could have sat there all day.

The spot is very nice . Is like a bar to go and just get wasted. Very loud music, party style. Stopped by for appetizers and drinks, and well, it was underwhelming. Servers kept on passing by without acknowledgment. And once they did, they apologized. Ill take that. It was not busy. Appetizers were cold and tasted like frozen food. So... Ill give it a try another day for an actual meal but not holding my breath.

One of my new favourite bars in the city! We walked past and was immediately drawn to the live music and plenty of outdoor seating. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was excellent. We look forward to coming back!

My wife and I welcomed my sister and her family to the neighborhood with a dinner here, and it was everything we could have wanted. A warm and lively atmosphere, great food and drinks, and a charismatic and awesome waitress named Sam. The manager also charmed us with his friendly presence and good humor. Great vibes from top to bottom in this place!

Very charming date spot! I went here for after-dinner drinks on a Tuesday night and there were so many other dates around. They have large windows on the sides that fully open when the weather’s warm.

Food was excellent, Saw waitress to take order for drink and meal. Brought my drink and didnt see her for the rest of my meal. A food runner brought me my plate and she brought me my check. Would have had a second beer had I had a chance to order it.

Never been here for dinner or drinks but came here for a private event. They allow private events at this bar. It’s nice, because the area of the bar the event was held had a private bar. That was much appreciated. The downfall was that there was only one bartender and the speaker system wasnt great. They said the private event could play their own music but that didnt happened. We just had to listen to what the DJ was playing in the main room and if you know...we know how that tends to go. The private area is vibey for sure just comes with few downfalls.

I love Banc. I have been coming here more recently! Its one of the only places around the neighborhood to provide actual happy hour prices, lol. But the vibe is fantastic. Whether you sit at the bar or dine at a table, everyone is friendly and nice. I love their fries, buffalo, and sweet chili wings, and they make the best cosmos. The only thing I would say is I wish for their dessert menu. Overall, I got a 10/10, and I found my new work hang spot!

Found myself here on an impromptu date. The atmosphere was everything. It gives off sleek dimly lit sexy vibes. It was a great place to socialize for a little bit, & they even had great music playing (likely top 40 hits or something along those lines). I cant speak for the food as we didnt have any, but as for the service it was decent. Id definitely go back here again!

Great place to stop for late night drinks! We were seated instantly (they have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating) and the service was extremely quick. Drinks are reasonably priced and STRONG. The chicken tenders were a bit dry but were piping hot and a good snack. Our server was friendly and fast which is all you can ask for. Would recommend!

Yesterday I had dinner for my birthday at banc café and wow everything was outstanding, the espresso martinis the best in nyc !! Laura the manager was so nice and attentive. I had a great time thank you so much !!

Service was good, prices fair, large portions. However, I got the salmon toast, asked for the fried egg over medium. The eggs were undercooked with that clear goo that grosses me out and the toast was so burnt it was pure black. Could not finish eating, just wasnt good.

Loved the quality of the dishes and the atmosphere - has become my new favorite in the area. Very comfortable seating and wide choice on the menu. My only disappointment was with the Sangria (very watered down, probably because of the ice), will go for wine the next time.

Service was good and oddly enough, the water is really good! However, the food portions are very small (I left feeling like I hadnt really eaten anything) and bland in flavor. To be fair I was here for brunch, but in my opinion brunch needs to be heavier, since its a combination of two meals...Overall, I wont be coming back, as there is better food available in the area.

Walked in for brunch on a Saturday around 12:30pm and got a couple of seats at the bar right away. Service was great, bartender was nice and very helpful with food recommendations. The Revival cocktail was delicious, and the Banker burger was fantastic. Probably one of the best burgers Ive ever had, everything in combination on the burger was perfect and the quinoa onion ring and quality of the beef stole the show. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area looking for brunch!

This is a super chill place and it’s beautiful inside. You can def tell it is a former bank from the 20s. It doesn’t feel old but instead feels like you should stay awhile. It’s dark inside in a good way for intimate chats. It’s lively at the same time for groups of friends. Live music a couple nights a week. Very late happy hour which is rare in this area with drinks wine and beer under $10. Menu diverse and wine and cocktail list is great. Great food, nice ambiance. The lamb chops were amazing! The tuna tartars avocado wasnt great, which kind of ruined the dish. The music was out of place, unfortunately.I would definitively come back for the ribs!

This place is a converted bank vault has a really cool vibe. It feels like an old New York speakeasy. I went here for brunch and really enjoyed the blueberry marzipone French toast and the goat cheese pesto wrap. The wrap could have used more goat cheese but cant everything? I went here for Sunday brunch and got in around noon and had no problem getting a seat which is awesome in New York.

Takeout order. Got the bang bang shrimp and other appetizers. Food tastes good. But the dish is not complex, there was little amount for the fifteen dollars price they charge.

Friend lives nearby and recommended this spot for some happy hour and early dinner. Really delicious. Theyve got cute outdoor seating. Their menu is a QR code to scan so no pictures on that. But I snapped their dessert menu.Parking sucks, welcome to manhattan but if youre on foot, easy peasy, swing by for their delicious happy hour drinks. Alcohol volume feels really high for some drinks but Im not complaining!Their food is well portioned, light, but filling, if that makes sense. Its fresh and their quesadillas were so yummy! Not to much oil but crispy and cheesy. Anyway, I highly recommend this if youre in the area!!

The food looks amazing and the presentation is on point. This place would have been a five star but the food was cold and the portion is very small.

The place was pretty crowded on a Wednesday night around 9pm, but my friend and I had no trouble getting seats. We only sat down for drinks - and since it was a lovely night, we chose a table outside. The service was quick and friendly and a bread basket was dropped almost immediately after we sat down. Wasnt there for long, but loved the vibe! Crowd seemed to be mostly finance.

I haven’t been here since 2018 but when I went the burgers were super good. That’s all I remember but it was definitely a notable restaurant that I will visit next time I’m in the city.

Our server Lily was really helpful! I tried the steamed pao buns and theflatbread with the steak both were great. The lighting and atmosphere is nice, the place was packed but the service was pretty quick.

The atmosphere here is amazing, service is pretty fast. I didnt like the chicken after eating about 35% of it. I felt a little sceptical but I asked the server to change it because i didnt like it and they did. So great job on the service!!!! I changed it for the scallops and shrimp.

Food, service and cleanliness are all top notch. This is one of the best brunch spots in the city. Finally great live music and half price wines on Sunday evenings.

Solid lunch/brunch options with prompt service. The meals were good and theyve made the best of the outdoor seating space (review during COVID outdoor-dining). Drinks were definitely worth it and reasonably priced, the Hemingway cocktail was well worth it. Overall it was good, although staff seemed a little distracted at times, but it could just have been the start of the lunch crowd.

One of my absolute favorite neighborhood restaurant/bars in Murray Hill. Ive been a fan for years. Great professional crowd of all ages and amazing happy hour specials. The food is surprisingly really good here too. I love the Octopus! Clean, well stocked bathrooms, which is always welcomed. During the warmer months you can dine al fresco and even bring a small pooch!! Ultimate fav spot!!

Great food service is good on certain occasions just make sure you don’t go there on Thursdays because you might find hair in your Margatita and a very rude waitress serving you on your birthday, the worst experience ever. It is shame because food is great drinks wold have been too if it wasn’t for the hair in your drinks. The manager doesn’t really seem care

After having Banc on my bucket list for ages, I got a chance to visit them this Saturday with a group of friends.I ordered the vegetarian burger. The presentation was great but I realized after sometime that there were pieces of glasses in the burger patty. I really found a big piece 1 cm long in my big burger bite and that’s when it hit me that what I was suspecting as just crunchy lettuce was never lettuce in reality. :(We notified the staff and they were kind enough to apologize and offer my friends some complimentary desserts while I rushed home to drink a ton of salt water and get the burger+ out of the system. Really I wish the restaurant took extra steps to avoid this kind of mistake. It could be dangerous on so many levels.Sadly I won’t be returning to this restaurant especially after spending serval hours of panic and days of distress from their negligence. Please do better - you really have a great customer base and location.

Banc is an open air bar with tables, outdoor seating and a full bar with stools that bend all the way around. The bartender was super sweet and friendly. She works hard and is great to all customers. The place can get loud on weekends, and the fries are good. Minus for the outside bus traffic and noise pollution.

The only good thing about this space is the staff —they were all lovely. The food, unfortunately, was terrible. Among other things, the fried octopus had obviously turned and was not just bad, but unsafe to ingest.My girlfriend and I were fooled by a cute looking façade, but massively disappointed in the end.

I no longer live in NYC. I lived alright next door for many years. The place is still great.

This is a restaurant with a great atmosphere on the West side of Manhattan. The service staff were attentive and gave great recommendations about menu items. The filet mignon baguette was very unique and quite delicious, and the atmosphere was very welcoming and bright. There is a good amount of outdoor seating, which is fantastic when the weather is permitting. Overall, a comfortable place to relax and enjoy delicious food.

Went for lunch on Sunday. Hamburger with 2 toppings $16.00 and Stella Artois Draft $8.00 total $24.00 plus tax. My friend had the Quinoa & Beet Salad ($13.00), if that is your thing, she said it is delicious. Great service and reasonable prices. Sunday lunch wasnt too crazy so we could carry our conversation.

My go to bar! Really good food - tuna tar tar and burgers are my favorite. Prosecco is good and glass size is just perfect!

Food was good but service was awful. Came in around 10 on a Thursday alone on a business trip hoping I could grab a bite before heading back to the hotel. Got shown to a table for two in the middle of a hallway where All I could do was stare at other guests as an obviously apathetic server yelled at me over the music to get my orders.

Good food, good service. The outdoors was nice, except for the constant fire truck sirens, but thats not Bancs fault.

Disrespectful people, manager and employees. My sister was told that table for 5 people would be ready in an hour. After 1 hour and 15 mins later, some people left at the bar side table and while we were trying to seat ourselves down we were told that table was also reserved for some other “customers” like we werent the ones who waited for over 80mins so we were forced to leave that table very rudely. As a mediterranean person we speak with our hands and gestures when we get excited, nervous or anything in between. When hostess was trying to push us away from the table I simply asked her why they wouldnt tell us the wait would be longer than one hour. They claimed that my sister was told that the wait would be over an hour, like we were lying to them. If that was the case we wouldnt be waiting for the table. After that, she told me “dont put your finger to my face” I was emotionally harassed by her behavior. After that, while I was expecting an apology from the manager he came and yelled saying that “dont put your finger at her face” which wasnt the case and i also told him I was mediterranean thats the way we talk. He wouldnt understand at all. After the incident, I totally felt discriminated by hostess and the manager as well as emotionally harassed. This place was a totally different 3 years ago. I would suggest everybody to stay away from this place. I hope my review helps other people so that they wont get hurt the way I did.

Ate brunch outside, heaters included. Had the quinoa salad with salmon. Quite pricey, much less in East Harlem but was tasty & filling. I was outside & didnt view the interior but with a quick look it looked cozy.

Very laid back place with good brunch good. We went there to catch up with friends and ended up spending nearly 2 hrs. The staff was very friendly and laid back.

Breakfast actually beat expectations, staff was a bit rogue basically fighting my brunch partner over whether her gluten free allergy was authentic or not, but other than that a decent no wait venue for a weekend brunch.

No actual vegan options besides salad, and there were no peaches for the menu-listed Grilled Peach salad, for which they substituted grilled pears that were hard and tasteless. Even the veggie burger contains eggs (not egg - eggs are countable). Its 2021. Really? Get some actual vegan options already! 👎

Was in NYC for business and a friend recommended Banc Cafe. It was the best recommendation I have received in a long time. The food was exceptional - the steak was perfection! We probably had too many martinis (thank you Yellow Cab!), however it was a so nice to lose track of time and just enjoy each others company. This is definitely the place to relax, enjoy some incredible live music, food, and a master host (Tom is the best!!)

By far the rudest bar staff I’ve seen in my life. Not even close. Couldn’t recommend this bar less. I’ve never felt more insulted in a bar in my entire life.

The brunch is actually pretty good. I got the biscuits and gravy last time and it was very tasty even though the biscuits are kind of weak (they get soggy).

So many great things to say about Banc Cafe! Stumbled upon this gem while perusing Google Maps for another location. Had a lovely evening with some of the best food and eclectic music Ive enjoyed in a while! Banc has a masculine/steampunk-ish aesthetic that is simply gorgeous. Our server was attentive, funny, and came by at just the right times. The DJ played a little of everything from Michael McDonald to Rihanna and the grilled steak was to live for! Cannot wait to go back for more good times, great food, and amazing vibes! You must visit!

I really like the vibe, the food is also good. It is among the few options with kitchen open until 4 am. I love the veggie flat bread, and creme brûlée. The pasta, salads, and the bar bites are also really good.

Bland food, but nice ambience

Banc has overstayed its welcome in the neighborhood. Waitress and host are nice enough. Got our food, the portion size of the salad was laughable. The blackened chicken wrap was made up of chewy, bland, undercooked chicken without a hint of blackened seasoning. I think there was one crumble of bacon in there. Got our bill and it was $83 + tip for the experience.

Im in a book club and we met up at this cafe on a rainy afternoon. The waitstaff were a bit persistent in getting us to order things. I wasnt feeling too hungry so just got a side of turkey bacon and a ginger ale.As I ate the bacon, I discovered a thin piece of metal cooked in it, like a piece of aluminum or twist tie. Other people had no issues with their small meals.Overall the place has an upscale atmosphere.
