We loved the vibe at this place. Great music. Simple drink menu of wine & beer. Friendly folks at the bar. Everything was chill. Spectacular service from Mo & Tiffany. Raffle night was a blast ! Dont want to tell too many people about this place. Want to keep it cool & intimate.

Cute spot great vibe! Candle-lit and dark. Wine & beer menu. The Sunshine IPA was super bitter though, and felt kind of expensive! ($11). Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Free popcorn is a nice touch. Cozy for sure! The height of the seats felt a little bit off with the high tables.Server had us clear the wrong bill which was not too big of a deal, but with only 4 or so customers, I think maybe that could be avoided in the future.

Free popcorn and well priced drinks in a tiny Hells Kitchen bar! Yea please! Serviced by one staff member even at peak times, it’s incredibly welcoming and can sometimes lead you to meeting new people given the size of the venue.

Absolutely love this place-- its our go to in Hells Kitchen. Moe is amazing, and a friend of the gays. The best part is the music is loud, no request, filled with energy and sing alongs that will make you want to dance on the bar. Not sure about some of these recent reviews, but then again they probably dont even live in the hood or just easily offended. If you are looking for a great time, stop by and see Moe, because once you start singing you wont be able to stop!!!!

Overall rating: 4.8Always a joy to visit. Drinks are top notch and bartenders are so nice! I like to come on a Saturday afternoon and just read a book.The popcorn is also so good and the drinks are very reasonably priced. Definitely have to come back when I get the chance.

A gem on this earth. Will forever bring friends here on Friday night for Monique, the immaculate vibes, and awesome drinks. This bar is a HK staple, and yes pocket bar is great too, but back pocket is 10x better. The community, wholesome. The vibes, electric. The bartenders, best there ever was. Literally Weiwei and Monique be putting in the work. Dancing, performing, making everyone feel welcome, and literally running the entire bar by themselves. My glass is never empty, there is always a good song on, hit it at the right time of night and everyone is out of their seat singing along. Could not recommend this bar enough to anyone looking for a perfect night out.

Omg our bartender was hilarious! I didnt catch her name but we ended up staying a lot longer because she was so entertaining. They only serve beer and wine, but they do have Frose which you can get in a cute bear glass. It is small, but definitely worth checking out.

Back Pocket Bar in NYC is one of those hidden gems you stumble upon and cant help but love. My wife and I come at least once a month.Its cozy, with a great crowd and excellent music playing all the time. Everyone sings along to their favorite songs. The selection is just wine and beer, but its a good one. Whether youre looking to start the night off right or wind down after a long day, this place is perfect. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a laid-back spot with great vibes and even better tunes.

Wine and beers only but the fun part is that happy hour you roll a dice and if you roll a 1, your drink is a $1! Anything over 3 and it’s full price hahaha plus free popcorn

My absolute FAVORITE bar in NYC. This is the type of place you go to meet people and sing your heart out. Not a piano bar, but might as well be. A place you can go to truly be yourself and enjoy your evening. No pretense, no bad attitudes, just fun. The bartenders are fantastic and incredibly kind. 100% would recommend.

I don’t have enough good things to say about Back Pocket Bar, and especially Monique! We live in the area and this is truly Hell’s Kitchen’s best kept (local) secret. Monique knows how to throw an amazing party every night we’ve gone, so much so our voices are always recovering for a couple days! Whenever family or friends visit we also always take them here. Love showing them that yes even in NYC, there are still places like Back Pocket Bar where it feels like you’re catching up with old friends, or singing in the car as a teen again. My parents still always ask about Monique!

Cute little neighborhood bar. I do stress little, the whole place probably seats a maximum of 25.Drinks are reasonably priced (beer and wine, no spirits) and are served with free popcorn. The bartenders are really friendly and the soundtrack is always on point.Highly recommend.

The pocket bar was packed so we wandered around the block for another spot and were overjoyed to stumble upon back pocket bar. It is literally the same format and owner as the pocket bar. They have a few excellent beers on tap and a solid wine selection. Monday nights drag bingo was a ton of fun and the prizes were pretty sweet. The free popcorn is appreciated. The owner is over the top warm and friendly and she has created a very special environment where somehow by the end of the night I felt like I had known the people at the table next to us for years.

Very nice hidden spot, great service, but it gets WAY too loud with the music blasting and like 15 people inside. Not a great place for a first date, unfortunately. Otherwise, very nice!

Love Back Pocket! Go to spot for great wine, great ambiance, and great company - be that with friends of the lovely and talented Monique. Crowd is normally good vibes and the music is always fun - expect many singalongs!

This place (and the original Pocket Bar on the other side of the same block) are two little gems in our neighborhood. You will immediately feel like home and wish you had discovered the places before. Always had an amazing time here. The staff and the boss are the sisters you always wanted to have.

One of my favorite places in the city. The bartenders really make it fun every time I’m there, especially Mo! Love having a little spot in the city that always feels cozy and welcoming before or after a show.

Great bar for a mellow night of good tunes, well curated wines and beers (try the barley wine!), and the feeling like you are doing something somewhere in NY that means something.

Such a cool little spot! Super easy to miss but definitely worth a visit. Love the fact that they give you some popcorn to snack on. Best thing is also that they have frozen Aperol spritzes. Amazing!Now for my standard COVID comments as of September 2022. No masks being worn but it’s no longer mandatory. Pretty small location but felt comfortable while it was not too crowded.

Extremely off-putting bartender. Weird attitude for no reason, despite minimal interaction. Abrasive and unpleasant. Whoever was working on Saturday around 5pm should not be in the service industry.

Went with a couple of friends to catch up. Loved this place! Great wine and interesting drinks - especially the Sake Lemonade. Fantastic atmosphere with good music and a lively vibe yet still good for conversation. Will definitely return. Wine around $15/glass.

Ok so my friends and I decided to try this place since the bar we were originally going to meet up was too crowded and let me tell you it was the best decision of the night! Our bartender was a gorgeous girl name Moe and she was soooo helpful and so sweet and so much fun! She really made the entire experience a night to remember! Mo provided such great energy! She was simultaneously making drinks and playing dj from her own incredible playlist and hyping everyone up and dancing for us while also making sure we got out free popcorn snacks! She was a one woman show and we loved it! She had the entire bar dancing and singing along. It was like one of those movie scenes where a bunch of strangers become friends for a night and just truly have fun together and it was all due to her being such a positive energy! I asked her when she works and she said weds thru sat I believe because my friends and I definitely want to come back and see if we can experience this magical night again. Absolutely a million times would recommend! I give this place all the stars!

Bartender soured our entire experience. We made a joke about loud people at the bar in an effort to sympathize with her, and Bartender retorted with a comment that made us uncomfortable. We felt awkward the rest of the night… all from a comment about loud patrons.Aside from that, wine was great and good value. Vibe has potential but the music is WAY TOO LOUD and the patrons are screaming.

Back pocket bar is my favorite bar in NYC and nothing short of amazing! It has become my go-to neighborhood/Cheers bar thanks to all the positive vibes. While its always great, its NEXT LEVEL when Mo is behind the bar! Mo makes you feel like family immediately when you walk in, takes care of you, and makes you feel right at home (PLUS she always puts on a great show with the best playlist that gets the whole bar ROCKIN). Do yourself a favor and check out BPB ASAP!

Intimate and chill, this bar was an extremely friendly place to while away the hours. Back pocket is pretty small and very dark but this definitely added to the ambience. The bartender Niko is an absolute delight. I would come back again.

Moe is such a great bartender. I was there on 12/22/21 and she was playing awesome 90s music from her playlist. I will return as I reside down the block. Thank you again Moe!

Now you have to choose between the front and back pocket! This cozy little bar (bar not restaurant, no food here) is a quiet place for beer, wine or sangria, and usually some special frozen concoction of the day. Around 8:00 the noise level increases until it just a place to sing along to the playlist. Fun neighborhood place.

Back Pocket Bar is the bar that all of the other bars in the city should strive to be. It has dim lighting, free popcorn, zero pretension, great music, and a bartender named Pip who is pure perfection. I do not live in NYC but this bar makes me wish I did.

I liked it a lot. Very small but cozy bar. There are 4 different beers, 4 wines and a wine cocktail. Extremely nice staff. In terms of price, New York.

Warm New York atmosphere! Salted popcorn served with drinks. We were able to chat with the adorable waitress who recommended her best restaurants to us.
