A very nice experience. The place itself seems small however the service and the actual food make up for it. Everything that tried was super fresh, which is important when getting so much seafood in different variations. And when having seafood they had a great selection of wine for a perfect paring. The portions are not that big, but still pretty much feel you up and not over the top so that you have room for desert. And speaking of desert, chocolate mouse was just perfect and an actual mouse unlike in most of the places lately.

Food was great! Ribeye had a nice crust and cooked well (medium rare) throughout. Lobster bisque was pretty good nice flavor and generous enough with the lobster. Creamed spinach and fries were acceptable just hard to live up to a steak but sides complete the experience.Service was mediocre server seemed nice enough but not much attention to refills. Would’ve gotten another drink and dessert with better service.Soup was spilled when asked for Togo packaging. Altogether good food but I know service is probably usually better so try and give everyone your best please.

The food was fantastic, the atmosphere and service made it a perfect night!The carrots are like candy! Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Not one complaint about the whole experience.The best cheesecake I ever tasted. You won’t regret dining here!

Stopped here because our hotel recommended it. Didnt have a reservation but got seated at the bar. The bartender was busy but did a great job serving us despite that. Drinks were great.We got Lobster Bisque and French Onion soup to start. They were kind of underwhelming but not the worst. The real issue was our entrees. I ordered the Lobster Risotto which you can see in the picture. For $40 I got a very tiny piece of lobster and the risotto was very grainy and bland. My husband got a burger that was medium rare vs the medium he ordered.Overall it was very disappointing and made us wish we had only stopped in for a drink. The bartender was great but the food was very disappointing.

Great lunch! Loved my Caesar salad with the best grilled shrimp. My mother in law loved her French onion soup and beet salad. Elegant and professional service from Lin. Great latte.

Wow! What an incredible dinner. The best seafood I’ve had in a long time. Try the seafood platter with a glass of champagne. Just delicious. AND our service was fabulous! Thank you Dennis for being our awesome waiter.

We happened in by chance on the way to a show and are so glad we found this place! The bartender was spectacular, personable and excellent at letting us know about the food and drink selection. I had the best salmon at this restaurant. I am an a carnivore diet, therefore I asked not to use any vegetable oils while cooking my meal and requested a pure butter. They made my salmon exactly the way I wanted - no oils with butter on the side.Fabulous service and the best place to eat and meet friends or business partners.

The restaurant ambiance on arrival seemed impressive and the cocktails we ordered were good. I ordered the Chicken Milanese with some pasta and the latter was nicely cooked but the chicken was way overcooked and the edges were actually burnt black and inedible ! We decided to skip dessert and as soon as this was conveyed to the server our check was presented without asking for it. He then arrived with the card machine even though I hadnt finished my cocktail. Overall and compared to the restaurant food and service standards in London this place is mediocre .

The steak was cooked perfectly for my husband. I requested blue cheese dressing for my salad and it was no problem. The carrots were delicious.The chicken was pounded thin and was good. The bread was not hot is my only complaint.We had the pear tart for dessert which was great.Overall a great experience. And we would return.

This place is awesome! I got the French Onion Soup and the Chili Burger, which confusingly does not contain chili, lol. But it was delicious nonetheless. Its easily one of the best burgers Ive had in years. The patty was thick and cooked perfectly. The French Onion soup was also quite good. As other reviewers have mentioned, the staff is extremely attentive and is always making sure youre being taken care of. I sat outside, and it was very pleasant. Overall, I wouldnt change a thing and will definitely return the next time I come to NYC.

This is a cute place but honestly there is nothing unique about the food, the drinks or the service. The wine list had very few options, the food was standard, nothing special given that your are in New York, and the service was sub par. We were not made to feel welcome, we were rushed when there were open tables, and the waiter brought the check while we were still finishing our drinks. I asked to have the salmon fully cooked, not raw or dark pink in the center, and guess what - it was raw in the center and I had to eat around the edges. Advice to readers, pick someplace more special and unique.

I want to be as fair as possible, as the restaurant was very cute and sat us when we were half an hour early for our reservation since our show let out earlier than anticipated. With that said, once we were sat we noted that we all did not have proper silverware, plates or cups. It also took about 15 minutes for us to even receive menus.Once we were able to place our orders, the appetizers came out within about 15 minutes. The calamari was ok but the lobster bisque was not very good at all. Extremely thin.It took an hour and 20 minutes to get our entrees. They were ok, but not great. Water was barely refilled. We didnt even know they had bread for the table because it was never brought to our table. We found out when the table next to us walked in and was served an hour after us.

Amanda was amazing during my visit to the restaurant! Her attentive service and friendly demeanor made my experience at the bar truly delightful. The limoncello and champagne were delicious, but I would love to see a selection of local beers added to the menu to complement the fantastic selections on the menu. Overall, a wonderful place to dine and drink with exceptional service!

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving day with our family of 18 ~ from the moment we walked in the door we had the most incredible experience. It felt like family and the cuisine was delicious. What a find!! After a busy morning we googled places to eat and took a chance on BennyJohns. This place is fabulous. The decor and ambience is lovely. The staff were attentive and so helpful. The food is beautiful, well presented and very very tasty. They also have a great drinks menu. All in all we loved it.

I rarely go into NYC, but we occasionally go in for a show or to see Rockefeller Center at Christmas time. On 12/28/2024 we did both. So I picked this restaurant because it was within walking distance of Rockefeller Center. The atmosphere of the restaurant seemed nice when we walked in. We were 1/2 hour earlier for our reservation, but the they were able to accomodate us immediately. There were 7 of us. My 4 daughters, my son-in-law, my wife and me. The meals were pretty pricey and the google reviews we 4.8 out of 5, so I expected a good meal. We got our drinks and appetizers relatively quickly. Most of the main courses came out in a reasonable amount of time. My son-in-laws burger was supposed to be medium rare, but it came out well done. He sent it back and took them 10 minutes bring the right order. My steak didnt come out until 1/2 hour after my son-in-laws burger. Not only that it came out cut up because they needed to cook it quickly and it came out medium rare. I had ordered medium well. I ate the little bits that were cooked, but I thought they would have compted me my entree since they obviously forgot about my meal, the guy who is paying the bill.When I go to look at the check at the end of the night, the meal was not compted, plus they automatically put on a 20% gratuity and the bonus was if you paid by credit or debit card they tack on another 4%.They also said they were out of the dessert I wanted. This was at 7 pm.Also, the bathrooms. There are 2 toilets for everyone and a common sink in between the 2 toilets. One was locked with no one in it the whole time we were there. As the night went on a line was forming into the dining room. The poor people had to sit near that must of been none to happy. I finally knocked on the door of the locked toilet and nobody answered. I let the waiter know that there was nobody in one of them and then they finally opened that toilet.I would avoid this place if you have large groups. It seems like they took care of the smaller tables better. Ill never go back again.

We had a great time, Wednesday felt like Saturday. The food was good but it lacked a special touch, I noticed they delivered our first round of drinks to the wrong table so we had to wait, but it was worth it, the drinks were amazing! I recommend it, very close to Rockefeller and at the same time away from the madness.

Terrible experience. Sat at the table for 50 mins until appetizers came out. One of them wasn’t even right so we sent it back. No one came to explain why it takes so long for appetizers to be served. Appetizer’s sizes are not shareable. We canceled main dishes and left hungry and unhappy paying $150 for 2apps, kids pasta and three glasses of wine

What a great find!! The staff were exceptional and really made the experience extra special. So accommodating and on top of everything. Great cocktails and wine list. The French onion soup was just ok, but the filet, creamy cheese corn and homemade rigatoni with sauce were incredible!

We found this place on Google and cannot believe the rating. The food was bad. We had a salad with mango that wasn’t ripe and a tasted more like a carrot. Apart from this, the burger we had was raw.To top it off, are glasses had been empty for 30 minutes until we decided to just ask for the check instead. Bad food and bad service.

Service was mediocre and food was subpar for the prices they charged. Maybe 10-12 fries in my plate. Burger was thick and charred and not medium like I asked. Bun was a disaster. They threw on a lettuce tomato and large onion like we were at a theme park. One of our party members didn’t receive his food til we finished but the tables around us continued to be served. Not worth $70/person.

On a short trip to NYC and happened to walk into Benny John’s for dinner. The restaurant has an understated elegance. The food was quite delicious and Christian took good care of me and made me feel welcomed. If you are looking for a good meal in a relaxed atmosphere then I recommend Benny John’s and if you happen to get Christian, then good for you!

Absolutely appalled by this experience and cannot believe the average rating is 4.8. We waited over an hour for our food and 3 of our 5 adult meals came out incorrectly. The pasta dishes were barely cooked - raw broccoli and the pasta texture was like chewing gum. Photo of the pasta was the full dish as it came to the table. My frittata was sent back - was supposed to be whole eggs and came out as whites that were inedible. Burnt on the outside and texture was like plastic. Veggie burger was all quinoa and fell apart. My son’s pancakes were like cardboard.

Ordered the rib eye steak for $50+ cooked medium rare and it was tough, hard to cut, with excessive gristle. I could fell the sympathy from people sitting next to me as I tried to carve off the edible portions.Drinks were weak. The soup was unimpressive, not very tasty and only a very tiny amount of lobster.It might have been a bad day when I went but I don’t think I’ll try again. Service was good.

We came for lunch. Service was excellent! I had the NY Sirloin and it was delicious. I definitely recommend.

Don’t even bother. French onion soup is tasteless, Rigatoni Pasta bland and without sauce, burger raw and cold, 20% service charge added as standard. Sad experience overall. Might just have been a bad day at the office.

This beautiful new restaurant is less than a year old and since it was conveniently located next to our hotel, we ventured in on a very cold night. The warmth of the staff went above and beyond. Marco the manager has a genuine smile, and had no trouble luring us in. Danielle our bartender was attentive and very professional. She had the sweetest smile and huge eyes that twinkled. Dennis was another charming employee worth mentioning:)We like to eat light, and this place has a great happy hour menu with lots of choices for apps. But we opted to have two of theirsignature salads. Mine was the tropical salad which truly was a work of art!!! Arugula with avocados, cubed apples, mangos, and 4 huge grilled shrimp made this a sumptuous treat with every bite. My husband had one of the best caesar salads ever. We shared the panna cotta dessert, which was a perfect accent to our salads. Yum!!9We love this restaurant. The lighting is elegant, the music choices perfect to not compete with the guests conversations, and the interior design simply beautiful.This would be my go-to restaurant if I lived in NY, so go out of your way to dine here. Youll make it one of your favorites for sure!

The steak I ordered was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The service was completely on point. When you come, you should hope for or ask for Alexis to be your server. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make the perfect selection. I’ll be back!

This is place is def what we call “the best bang for the buck” it’s a beautiful place with a great service. They constantly check on you. We ordered 3 dishes and they all were 5 in flavor and portion. The time was perfect. They have in and outdoor tables with plenty of space. The bar has a decent selection, but their service will make you smile. Again, loved the price for the area is good. Will def come again for dinner. I will Def recommend it to friends and family.

My girlfriend and I both got the filet, cooked to perfection. Cream spinach was out of this world and the Mac and cheese was delicious. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. High end atmosphere and service.

Been in NYC for over 10 years, have had all the well-established steakhouses many times. We decided to try this on a whim for a thanksgiving dinner as it’s close to our apt and wow, were we impressed! The porterhouse was one of the best we’ve had in this city, incredibly tender, well seasoned, and cooked exactly to a perfect med-rare.Special shout-out to Orlando! He was great throughout the dinner. He kindly switched our wine when we ordered the wrong one and provided great recs all night. Kudos!You shall see us back soon!

We had an amazing experience! We came here for a double date and Denny’s took great care of us. Each of us had a different burger, we had a bottle of Pinot Noir that he recommended and tried a few appetizers including the carrots, delicious! We saved space for dessert. Their bread was delicious too! It had Parmesan and gruyere cheese! Ordered three and they brought us a fourth complimentary. Our favorites the crème brûlée and the pear tart! We will be back when we return to NYC!

I work in the nabe, and haven’t found a steak place I like and trust me, I’ve tried all of them around my office area. This lovely new place is sensational. Went alone a few weeks ago and had a huge shrimp cocktail and a salad with large chunks of Canadian bacon and blue cheese. I went earlier this eeek with a client- she had a cheeseburger, which was perfect, and I had a repeat of my lunch from the previous time. Excellent service, clean a a whistle, great menu. Do yourself a favor and eat here. You will NOT regret it.

This is my third time come here. The second time having food. I had their special the tuna tartare. It was tasty, only thing I like my tartare usually cut up a little more, this was more cubed. Their wine was great and my server was extremely hospitable and very nice! I will be back to try more food!

Grilled steak was so so good. Pasta was cooked right and very delicious. Beef tartare is one of my favorites. Booking the table via google maps was very easy.

In NYC for a baseball game and the US Open. Decided to try a different restaurant and this place had a great atmosphere and really solid food!There of us split the porterhouse and the lobster risotto, along with a side of Mac and cheese and were completely satisfied.

Tropical salad, French onion soup, and seared tuna steak over asparagus were all delicious. Perfectly timed arrival of the three courses. Kept my sparkling water glass filled. Michael and the rest of the service team did an excellent job. I hope to return with special guests.

We were so very fortunate to find this place! This was our 1st trip to New York City and the restaurant was next door to our hotel. We were drawn the first evening not only by convenience, but by the ambiance from the street. It was so very inviting and welcoming. The outside seating area was lovely and the live music softly playing outside under the lights felt magical. The staff were all WONDERFUL (very attentive and friendly), service was 1ST CLASS and the food beyond EXCELLENT. My Husband said it was the best Salmon he had EVER had!We were so drawn to this place that we went all 3 nights we spent in NYC. With 100s of choices in the area, and us being lovers of delicious food and great service, for us to CHOOSE to dine here all 3 nights of our trip, speaks volumes!Do yourself a favor and locate this place and go see for yourself. Great spot that is not broadly known by the regular way midtown and tourist folk. Servers are excellent and make sure you are getting what you want. Orlando is an outstanding server- helped me order a balanced meal that is not too heavy. Steaks are very well made, a combination of the sizzle of PL and the comfort of 21 club (rip)

Wonderful setting in the middle of the city. We enjoyed the French onion soup and lobster bisque. In addtion, we split the BLT (which had great, thick cut bacon). We were also very pleased with the cocktails and wine. Yum!

This is a joke: imperial salad is iceberg lettuce and cheese and croutons: the price of 15 USD, the end has been added 20% tips to the bill and 4% for payment by card. I do not recommend the place, the service is unpleasant, expensive !!!

Came here for my birthday celebration and it was wonderful. Staff was very accommodating and nice. The Tangerine Cosmo was out of this world! Cream corn and the lobster bisque was great. The ribeye steak wasn’t bad, but the sauces were superb. .

The restaurant initially seemed nice, despite us not receiving menus after being seated; we eventually had to ask for them. No big deal. We ordered glasses of wine, which were good, and the portions were satisfying—not like in some places where the wine barely covers the bottom of the glass.The food was decent. We both ordered cheeseburgers, requesting medium rare, but they came out closer to medium. Still, they were pink inside. The service was also good overall. So everything was fine—until it came time to pay. We split the check and paid with credit cards. When we got the receipts, we saw they had charged us a 3.99% card transaction fee!What? We’ve both lived in New York for years and have never encountered a restaurant charging a card transaction fee! When we asked about it, we were told it’s just their policy and that it’s written on the bill. Yes, it turned out there was a small note about it on the receipt, but who actually reads all the fine print? Most people only look at the total, the tax, and maybe any service charge.If they’re charging a fee (and that high!) for credit card transactions, they should say so. Tell customers upfront, don’t hide it on the final bill where many won’t even notice until it’s too late. Clearly, this is a tactic to keep customers in the dark; they know people wouldn’t be happy if they found out before ordering.It’s disappointing. It feels like the owner is not only charging high prices but trying to squeeze out extra from customers through hidden fees. We definitely won’t be going back, and if I ever encounter this again, I’ll deduct the fee amount from the tip—I hope then servers will reconsider working in places that use such practices.

Loved getting away from the crowds, nice quiet spot good wine list for basic wines. Good was good, mine was a bit on the warmer side and the English muffin could have been toasted more but the smoked salmon was yum! Service from Alexis was excellent!!! A good hidden gem for brunch

The clams are to die for! It’s important for you to know that about this establishment. I visited in New York recently and was actually at the timeshare next-door to Benny’s. I knew as soon as I got in from the airport that I was gonna eat there at least once I just wasn’t sure when. I had the grilled salmon with the mushrooms, sautéed, and the half clams. My brother had the coconut shrimp and the lobster bisque but I had a chance to taste both.In order from greatest to least: the lobster bisque was superb, the coconut shrimp were meaty and above average in quantity and flavor, The clams were plentiful and filling, the sautéed mushrooms had some excellent undercover flavors that weren’t just sodium, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. However, the fish was lacking in any real notes. Not that I prefer a common blackened or citrus, but some seasoning would’ve been nice. My servers name was eludes me but he was amazing. His efficiency and experience are what I know and love from good service he was very friendly and kind to weary tourists, which New York is not known for, but they have a lot of despite theories. I truly enjoyed him, as well as the live music from the musician there that evening. He was absolutely hilarious and play Georgia on My Mind because I told him I was from Atlanta. I will definitely be back for those amazing cocktails with sake and the one my brother head with jalapeños. Ask your bartender about them! Thank you so much!

I came here with a group on a Friday night during restaurant week. The place is clean and definitely has an afterwork, NYC steak house vibe where bankers and finance coworkers eat. Our waiter was not very friendly. As soon as our group mentioned that we were going to order off of the restaurant week menu, he became very curt and snappy with us, even rolling his eyes when we asked for the wine menu. I had the crab cake to start which is a huge patty of deliciously huge chunks of crab. I then had the steak for dinner which was more medium well than the medium rare that I requested. It tasted a little rubbery. The potato wedges were also undercooked and unappetizing to eat. The chocolate cake was decadent, smooth and delicious. I had an espresso martini which tasted very watered down. I definitely will not be returning.

Had a great time! If you dont know what you want Benny Johns has a little bit of everything to help make your decision easier! From cocktails, wine, and beer to oysters great salads and steaks. Service was fast, consistent, and without issue. Mayhe could use a few more appetizer options but none the less was a great experience! Will definitely come by next time I visit the cathedral!

An absolute must try! Top notch service in an elegant environment with a peaceful atmosphere. Alexis and the other staff members provided us with exceptional customer service, and on top of that, the dishes were delightful and scrumptious.

We stumbled upon this restaurant and we immediately knew we found a gem! You walk off the street and into a quiet restaurant with incredible background music and vibes reminiscent of a European cafe. We had the pleasure of getting to know Cesar and Zeke. They took such good care of us and were so kind!The food was incredible! The beet salad was the best I’ve ever had. Then we each had a burger and fries — highly recommend!If you’re looking for great food with even better people, stop in for lunch or dinner. You will love it!

We got caught in a horrible rain storm in the city & we were looking where we could eat and stay dry. Luckily Benny John’s popped up right around the corner from us. It was so delicious…we had 2 appetizers steak tartar & oysters rock. Dinner we shared the prime NY sirloin steak & steak fries! Dessert crème brûlée 🍮. Everything was delicious my only complaint is I’m a salt lover…I would have liked if the steak had some coarse salt sprinkled over it. But my husband thought it was just perfect 🤷🏻‍♀️Our waiter was Michael & he was attentive & wasn’t pushy or felt rushed…nice guyThumbs up to the female bartender that evening…she was very nice gave us paper towels to dry ourselves off

Stopped in for a quick drink and bite before a larger meal with colleagues this evening. We were seated quickly and anything we asked for was accommodated by Caesar, our exceptional server. And the food, absolutely incredible! Flavor, presentation and portions were on point, and not just for their signature Italian dishes. We got the pappardelle with bolognese and also a burger with Gruyère; both were fantastic! All the stars for this place! Go here!

Stopped in for a late lunch after arriving into Manhattan and our room wasnt ready yet.Nice spot with tablecloths, etc and the service was great! Waiters carry the drinks on silver platters, that kind of place. Waiter was very attentive the entire time without standing over us.Food was good, not amazing, but we just had lunch, 2 soups and shared a BLT. My French Onion was good, but the cheese was a little chewy, not the gooey you really want, but not overly salty which I find in a lot of places either. BLT was tasty with avocado and really thick slices which I liked, making the sandwich more meaty. It was nice that they split the sandwich for us, always a nice touch.

Great dining experience; food was excellent (Branzino special). The gelato was some of the best wed ever had, and that includes our travels throughout Italy! The atmosphere was pleasant; great italian/jazz background music. Not so noisy that we could easily carry on conversations. The service was outstanding, particularly our server, Amanda. Popped in with my family and we did not have reservations. Initially, we were told they could not accommodate and we completely understood because we all worked in the hospitality industry.However, a nice gentleman dressed in a sports coat and sneakers told his hostess to bring us in and he welcomed us!There were five of us in our party and we only wanted a quick cocktail and burger. We weren’t going to tie up the table.Took a bit before the waiter came to the table. Almost as if the staff was trying to figure out who was going to”pick up the table”.We ordered our cocktails, appetizer and 5 cheeseburgers and an order of onion rings all at the same time.Cocktails arrived, calamari arrived and then only 4 cheeseburgers. Waiter said he never heard my daughter in law’s order despite her giving him specific instructions which he wrote on his pad.Two of us felt our cheeseburgers were under cooked. The waiter offered to cook my daughter’s cheeseburger more, but told me that mine was cooked as I asked and never offered to throw it back on the grill.So, two of us did not eat out $29 burgers, one never got hers and my son’s just paid the bill and we left.The waiter knew we were not happy, but there was no attempt to rectify.So, Benny Johns - this was our first and last time.You could have done better. We understand bad days, but we don’t understand lack of respect and service.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining here for dinner, and it was an excellent experience. We had made reservations, but arrived a bit early, and they were able to seat us right away. Our waiter was very attentive, providing great service throughout the meal. We started with a delicious appetizer, followed by a fantastic entree, and ended with a wonderful dessert. We had the salmon, crab cake and baked potato along with a cocktail and glass of wine. Sadly the very large piece of perfectly cooked medium salmon was served with just a lemon. If it had been seasoned a little better it would have probably been fine but it was a piece of salmon on a large dinner plate with a lemon. Not what you’d expect from a restaurant in NYC; perhaps your local chain steak house. I expected a sauce drizzle or some greenery or something to make it look and taste a little more appetizing. The crab cake was served on a few pieces of spinach and a bed of ground mustard but truly a disappointment as it had no seasoning. It was not bad but one crab cake for $25 needs a little flavor. I know NYC doesn’t prepare crab cakes like New Orleans but maybe they should or at least add a flavorful sauce. Lastly how could you mess up a baked potato? They didn’t but the 13.95 potato was served plain with a dollop of sour cream and butter on the side. If the potato was specially baked with a salted crust or added toppings it would have been just fine. This restaurant missed its mark at every turn except for the service.

My husband and I had a late lunch/early dinner here today. The food was tasty, however they didnt offer bread on the table or even explain that what I ordered didnt come with any sides or even salad. all I had was chicken marsala which In my opinion I make much better! The waiter was quick to remove any empty glass without asking if we wanted anything else. Meal was way overpriced.

We went to this establishment for a quick bite. We just made it in time for the happy hour but by the time someone came to our table.. 10 minutes later.. we were told happy hour was over. My husband ordered a drink and it was never served nor was it even made. We were seated by the bar. The staff member who waited on us was dismissive and obviously did not value our business.

Not a good experience. We ordered a burger, and 2 BLTs. It took them 45+ minutes to get our food when the place was empty. The BLTs were inedible. The bacon was full of fat and chewy. The bun completely fell apart upon first bite. We had to send them back we couldn’t eat them. The burger was undercooked as well. We reordered different food - a chicken Cesar salad and another burger. The salad was pathetic, barely had any greens or dressing in it. The chicken was subpar. Would not recommend, plenty of better places around.

Everyone was wonderful, attentive and treated us like VIPs. Food was excellent. The extra hot plate for food was the best (we do not like cold food). I would highly recommend, especially if you are looking for a relaxing date night.

No matter the vibe, service or the food, they are both super good. And the price is affordable. They literally deserve more people to know and come. The shrimp cocktail and oyster are highly recommended, the steak as also!
