Eagle is a rare thing in the concrete jungle of NYC. I rarely see it. 🦅 Eagle 🦅 rare is one of my favorite whiskeys I tried a few years ago and like it a lot. Also Johnny and Evan William. I have a new whiskey drinker palette 🎨 but Im specific about what I like. Much more to discover and I know this is a place I can taste American brands to like.Nice place. Spacious and aerated with just the proper light for a cozy ambiance.Friendly staff. Kaitlyn went above and beyond to provide great service. I tried an eagle 🦅 rare old fashion. It was delicious.Ten years anniversary today and I want to congratulate you 🎉👏 on a decade milestone and wish you many more decades to come.,
Came here with friends and tried the duck nachos which was different from my norm but I enjoyed it. The smoked wings in chili sauce would be my first recommendation with sweet potato fries and honey mustard sauce. The staff is friendly. The music was good. We had a great time. I would come again and highly recommend especially on a game night.
This a friendly, spacious bar with a fun, theme-appropriate decor. The bartenders are very friendly. Mine made me a pretty good whiskey toddy! I ordered tater tots for a snack and they were fresh and texturally perfect, and came in a decent-sized portion. I’d definitely stop in for a post-work drink again.
This place is great. Made reservations for my husband’s birthday, got a table a little earlier than our reservation time. The lamb chop lollipops were OMG…. My husband had the chicken sandwich with a vodka/Red Bull, I had the steak. And the prices are very good.
Great venue and location. The staff is lovely to work with too. Shout out to Pam and Kelly!
Great sports bar to watch games and have some delicious pub food. The burger 🍔 is solid. Lots of screens and places to sit. Would def come back to try their wings !
Great atmosphere and very spacious. Attended the NYC Marathon after party here and Jus Blaze tore it down. It was crazy busy so the bartenders were slow getting to you but the speciality drink I ordered was absolutely delicious. The wings were very tasty and the waffle fries were good and hot.
Unfortunately we waited over an hour for our food despite a reservation. Everything was ordered off the menu with no substitutions requested. Server didn’t even come back to check on our drink orders or request if we wanted refills (despite drinks being empty for 30 minutes). Sat by the door, was very cold. Once we got food, half came out, 20 mins the other half came out but still missing multiple parts of the order. Sandwiches drenched in oil, bread not toasted and overall I could have done better in my own kitchen. Very disappointed. My sandwich was $20, but was on plain, untoasted white bread and came out cold, no fries or anything on the side. Will not be returning.
Really good food and would come back buy my god man $20 for 7 wings is unconscionable. At least throw some carrots and celery. Something
Brussel sprouts and pretzel bites were amaze. Great whiskey flight too
Great selection of whisky and bourbons. Definitely recommend their tasting set.
Surprisingly excellent comfort food, great selection of bourbons & beers, friendly bar tenders.
Sorry for the crazy pic. But the drink was so dang good!!!!!The place was legit hopping for a happy hour location. If you want to eat here you have to make reservations!!! The food menu looked great and the service was super amazing. The venue had lots of side rooms to accommodate larger groups as well. For sure, try the bar area and ask for their current specials. The bar tenders are fantastic!!!!
Went there for a flight of bourbon and I was great and service was great too!
Pretty pricey, but great place for whiskey. They have a nice selection and they do 1oz pours. The bartender was also really nice and let me sample a few before ordering.
Whiskey tasting flight was a real treat. My osyters were perfect... first time pop rocks was offered as a topping. Fun..novel..Hubbies burger was delicious! Rye dog appetizer and super fresh salads were also completely enjoyed! Service was fast and pleasant. Good look to the place.Young crowd so its very noisy. Go early. Well go once more before our trip is over. DO IT! ENJOY!
Pretty cool setup to grab some drinks. I went to a whiskey tasting and it did not disappoint. The bartenders were great too. It’s a Georgia Bulldog bar FYI.
Owner gave us a private tour of the distillery in the back. Phenomenal! They only use New York grains in their stills. Very impressed! For a burger spot, this distillery give great Groupon tours. Cant wait to come back :)
Love the vibe! Cool music. Mini venison burger was so yummy with that onion jam. Bartenders were great and friendly, and the service was fast. The drinks were phenomenal! Love those craft cocktails with such inspiring flavors, like the lavender julep and the Miracle of 86. Its only flaw was lack of dessert.
This place turns into a University of Georgia bar on college football game days. Its like suddenly stepping into Athens, you find yourself wading through a sea of red and black. Its incredible. On game day there is often a line out the door. I dont live in NYC, but if I am in town for a game weekend I always find my way to American Whiskey.
Great atmosphere. Quiet - didnt have to shout to be heard. Terrific burgers! Loved the whiskey process map over the bar.
Went to American whiskey on Monday night in November. Have to say its definitely the best place to go near Madison Square Garden. Atmosphere is fantastic food is great and reasonably priced and best of all the service is outstanding. On Monday Caitlin was our server and she was so attentive helpful and fun. If I could give six stars for service I would.
So lucky to find this spot on my most recent work trip to New York. I wanted a fun atmosphere with good food and this place nailed it. Great whiskey selection, knowledgeable bartenders, and the burger and tots were awesome!
Very close to Madison Square Garden. Burgers were excellent. Tater toys were great. It was busy but got seated right away with a reservation. Service was sick and efficient. A bit noisy.
Had drinks only. Service was great.
Service was very slow and it wasn’t busy, the sandwiches were pathetic. We ordered the hot chicken sandwich with ranch and it came on untoasted wonder bread with no ranch while they advertise on their Instagram a toasted bun. It’s disappointing because I’ve come for drinks many times and it’s been great. I’ll never eat here again.
Good atmosphere, very nice bartenders. This martini was delicious!
Went to a whiskey tasting here yesterday. Really nice place the bar looked amazing but service was barely getting out. Bartenders either were too into making 1 drink at a time or just so overwhelmed that they were fighting off emotional breakdowns. When you could get their attention for a drink it tasted amazing. I had the scofflaw 1 of the signature cocktails for that night. So delightfully bright. Im not a whiskey drinker per say but Id have that cocktail anytime loved it. I hope the Bartenders get much better here. I saw them losing money left and right with people just walking out cause they were just not keeping up with the demand. Such a shame. I look forward to going again maybe when theres no event happening.
Stopped in w/o reservation at 4:30 on a Thursday for a farewell shindig with about 15 peeps. Enjoyed the cove areas that allow you to have a semi private area for larger groups. There was one server for the group and she was prompt for drinks, cocktails took the longest, which were to be expected.Had the chips & guac which I enjoyed and didnt try the wings. Had original hot wings and then the bama white sauce...which those that tried couldnt quite place the flavor...it wasnt a crowd favorite.Im sure if I drank whiskey, this place would be higher on my list.
Had an old fashion here. It was one of the places that popped up for a place to get good whiskey. Relaxed vibe.
Ambiance and location are wonderful. Whiskey selection is amazing. I had a drink made neat, so I could really taste the flavor. The bartender made some nice recommendations. I also had some wings (bone in of course) which were good. I am incredibly partial to whiskey bars and this one is super convenient, so Ill definitely be back.
This place was awesome! The restaurant is large. We came here with a party of 10 and I didnt feel packed in. Lots of choices on their menu, I didnt try a single appetizer I didnt enjoy, we ordered quite a few. Dinner was very good. 10 people ordering, you would expect it to take a bit for food to come out, and it did. I have nothing against a little extra wait when the chef and serving staff are trying to make sure we can all enjoy our meal together. It was still faster than Ive seen in the past, so I was very pleased with that. Lots of drink options, beer, mixed, whiskey, etc... I would love to go back next time Im in NY.
It was the epitome of mediocrity. The food was okay, the service was okay, the general environment was okay...just okay. I felt queasy for hours afterward. The prices were reasonable. Other than feeling queasy for hours afterward, it was entirely forgettable and we will not be going back.
Good collection of whiskeys and a pretty big space that’s about it.The staff is nice.A good place to grab a drink but nothing special.
Great southern ambience with nice bourbon cocktails. Decent food just somewhat poorly executed on our one visit. Good ingredients though. Not many gluten free options. Very friendly wait staff. Tater tots were huge.
Always one of my favorite places in NYC!!! The owner Kevin is one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Bartenders and floor staff are terrific, particularly Tracey, who makes some of the best cocktails you will ever taste!!! Food is great, AMAZING whiskey list, and lots of tv screens to watch the big games. Definitely a 5 stars experience!!!
The staff at the front door are amazing! While I could see and hear that people were all preparing her with questions, she stayed calm cool and collected, got everyone what they needed and did it with a smile. Staff matters and she set the bar!
Food and drink options were good, enjoyed the duck sliders and would recommend them. Ambience is really cool as well. Service, however, was severely lacking. Our waitress twice forgot out drink orders, and we waited forever for the food. This was on a Monday when neither Rangers nor Knicks were playing, so it wasnt exactly busy.
I get they are just opening and its hockey season but they are incredibly understaffed, cant cook a burger and cant get orders right. Ordered 2 burgers 1 medium well, came out well done and room temp, the second medium with cheddar and bacon with fries came out well done no cheese no fries and room temp. The fix to the no cheese was to bring out 2 slices of cheese for me to add to my burger myself.....they are super nice and i hope they can get the hang of things but wilp not be back this hockey season.
I was at American Whiskey for a bourbon and barbecue dinner. The food was so good! The brisket was tender, which is how I like it. Ribs were juicy, tender, and on point. Then there were sides which paired well with the meat. If you are midtown and need a place to eat before a concert or game, check this spot out. Its a mix of locals and tourists. Enjoy!
Came here afraid it might be the usual NYC expensive place/mediocre food combo. We were pleasantly surprised to be warmly greeted and got our amazing drinks right away (old MacDonald is a must). Boys got the burger which they almost ordered a second of and the girls got the short ribs sandwich with jalapenos which was great. Awesome rustic decor and great waitstaff. Definitely recommend!
Excellent bar in the Dirty 30s. The decor is weird, but the food, drinks and TVs make up for it. Great place to watch the game. Nice drink selection. If youre hungry, get a table and head to the back - much cozier atmosphere. The menu changes by season and they do a nice brunch as well for celebrating Sunday Funday properly.
This was by far one of the best whiskey selection I have seen in the city. There were so many options I had no idea what to order. They also have higher-end whiskeys that are not on the menu or limited editions. Just ask the bartender and he will go through a few options. I went with Blantons since it is often hard to find. I will definitely come back to this spot. Aside from whiskey, they also have beers, tequila, and mezcal. The food and small plates are very delicious and they even have vegan options. Definitely a spot to visit in a near and far future.#whiskey #bar #food #bourbon #scotch
The vibe and decor of this place has a rustic coolness to it with moose heads along the wall to boot but it can get a bit crowded during after work hours. There are TVs screens behind the bar to accommodate the sports crowd but the bar seats typically fill up pretty fast. I wouldnt necessarily go out of my way to go here if I didnt work in the area but a good option if you come early during happy hour.
I was surprised they didnt have any Aberlour at a whiskey bar. But other than that this is a fantastic place to come before or after a knicks game. Huge selection and they actually have amazing Tater Tots, lol. So good.
I used to go here pre-pandemic. It was a nice place then. Now, the food is Chick-fil-A quality. Paid $17 for a chicken sandwich that was served on white sliced bread. Horrible.
Went in with a few friends for a drink after a rangers game. Place was not packed just the bar stools had customers. Drinks were ok but bartender was slow and couldnt keep up with the minimal customers in there. He couldnt ask if you wanted another drink we had to. One of our guys had food he said it was pretty good.
Drinks were good - food was good. However we had a bartender that refused to serve my brother and I. Wouldnt make eye contact, ignored us and then another bartender from the other side would come down and serve us. Didnt make sense. If you dont get that bartender I am sure you will have a decent experience
We only managed to find and go to American Whiskey on our very last day in NY. It was all we imagined and more. The place was incredible, if your a whiskey lover like my partner this is a MUST. the staff were super friendly and even customers in there were nice enough to move up the bar for us to sit together. Great experience
Great selection of whiskey and excellent service. A must go for whiskey enthusiasts or if you are looking to expand on it. The staff is very helpful in that regard, always very pleasant in understanding your taste and then providing a recommendation
Very disappointing overall. Food forgotten, inattentive staff and over charged. I’m a WSET candidate & a bourbon fan; I was looking forward to an impromptu tasting for my studies. It was VERY quiet (no tables seated, just two other patrons at the bar having a beer), I ordered a couple 1oz pours (to do tasting notes) & a salad w chicken for lunch. After 30 min I asked about lunch, the bartender had forgotten about it (see above re: quiet!!). I asked for the bill and was supposed & disappointed to see I was charged for 2oz pours, one if which was TWICE the price of other bars. I don’t mind a place which is expensive, which covers the large carrying cost of a wide selection / inventory. However combine that with poor service and outrageous pricing and I’ll never be back.
Extensive selection of Whiskeys from around the world! Very good bar service (our barmaid anyhow) helped us sample gins before making our decision. A little pricey but makes sense given the stuff they’re serving. Dim lighting and bison heads!
We waited almost 20 minutes to even meet our server, which we had to ask for. After ordering a burger and BLT took over 40 minutes to even get our food when most of the restaurant tables were open. When the server placed down the food he even apologized for the time and the clear lack of undercooked underwhelming food. My BLT had one slice of bacon, white undercooked bread, and just overall lack of care. It was one of the worst meals Ive had and the only positive part was the server comped the meal. My first experience here was positive, but tonight guaranteed Ill never go back.
A fantastic bar with an incredible selection of top-shelf whiskey and other drinks to imbibe. Whether one orders a dram of single-malt scotch neat or a Manhattan -- I did both -- the service and quality of the drinks is top notch. Im definitely going to come back the next time Im in NYC!
One of the worst run bars I have been in. Female bartender on Friday night had a meltdown. Nobody was able to take our drink order. The four guys sitting at the bar left and said the service was terrible. We were there 20 minutes and even though the place was mostly empty could not get a drink. All three bartenders were rude. The girl was insulting. We just left. 30 minutes after Billy Joel every bar was packed except this one. Now we know why. If I was managing this place the girl would have been fired on the spot. We left and spent $500 at the next stop.
Mediocre cocktails and service with a nice ambiance and better than average food. They have a nice big selection of whiskey as befits the name and many cocktails, but the ones we had were just ok. They started way too strong and quickly became watered down due to the incredible amount of ice. The service was fantastic from one waiter and among the most negligent and ambivalent from the other. I was literally walked away from in the middle of my food, and then again drink order. The beer selection is large, but nothing really sticks out as unique or much beyond the typical Sam Adams and Goose Island. The wings were good but a bit vinegary from the hot sauce and the duck sliders were excellent but you only get one in an order. Very cool ambiance with animal heads and a loft for larger parties.
The staff is amazing I absolutely love this place. Just had drinks
What a cool place! Im definitely coming back for more than just sipping excellent bourbon. The food seems to be real good, the menu is unique. Very Nice, and basically around the block from MSG and the Trains. Stop On By!
We went here after attending BookCon at Javits Center and I loathe that I am giving a poor review considering that the food, whiskey and wait staff were all exceptional. Unfortunately, the area we were seated at was located by a bathroom and the stairs to another bathroom and the area smelled excessively like urinal cakes. On top of that it was a rather hot day and the ac was not yet on. Menu is somewhat limited especially if you have dietary restrictions in regards to meat. Whiskey listing was extensive and pricing was pretty decent for NYC.
First of all, if youre looking for a bourbon bar in NYC let me start by saying this is a really strong option. They have other things as well, but as the name largely implies - come for the bourbon! I had the burger to eat, and it was good. I tried to get tots with it, but they were out. Little bit of a bummer, but these things happen.Definitely recommend scoping this place out if youre on the prowl for a good bourbon bar with tasty food. I will definitely be back the next time Im in town...and hopefully Ill get to try the tots!
Really great place with good bar food and great bartenders. Theyre very personal and attentive. They have some good whiskies and a decent beer selection as well. They have sports on the multiple monitors and its a nice place to hang out with friends or alone.
SO crowded. Which, like, I expected, but the staff apparently did not and everything was fairly chaotic. Not enough bartenders for the crowd and maybe half of them knew what they were doing.Ex. My date and I ordered the same classic drink but his was minus one ingredient. The whiskey equivalent of two martinis but one without olives. We had to explain this to the bartender at least three times and she still didnt get it.They also messed up our tabs and charged my date for half my drinks, and when I asked to close out, they gave me the receipt but not my card back. Fortunately I was sober enough to remember eventually before I left but still, thats not cool. Its just woefully understaffed during busy tones. The girl next to me was WASTED and broke a glass all over the bar and I tried to flag someone down but since I had a full drink, no one acknowledged me. I ended up just getting a bunch of napkins and cleaning up the broken glass myself before somebody got hurt. The drinks were really good, the bartenders who are talented are VERY talented, everyone is polite, and the vibe is nice. Ill probably be back but hopefully during a less crowded time.
Good selection of whiskey here, but a bit pricey. They have the whiskeys separated by category here (Dry and spicy, light and floral) that makes it easy for you to find something you are familiar with and try something else with similar notes.Decent beer and wine selection too, so caters to most people that enjoy imbibing.
Great place for the area! Thank you for bringing a cool downtown vibe (minus the attitude) to the West 30s.This place is ahead of the curve and will be the granddaddy for an area that is taking off with the Highline, West Side Yards and new apartment buildings going up nearby. The interior is warm and cozy and yet double height so not claustrophobic. The bartenders are true mixologists who know their hooch - whiskey and all others.. The food is very good, I would like to see more healthy options: grilled chicken, salad, etc.Prices are standard, but a really great deal during Happy Hour.I am a fan.
I don’t normally leave reviews, but this place has amazing wings, good selection of beers and whiskey. Stopped in before a game at MSG and I’m glad I did.
Great bar. Big enough for groups whilst also being small enough to feel fun. Drinks are large pour! Staff are very relaxed.
Omg! I am going to visit this place again... i dont think anyone can visit it just once. Loved the service, wine was amazing...I didnt eat much but my friends did and they loved it ... keep it up guys! All you amazing folks who served us with love, tender, and care. Thank you!And all you folks, stop reading this review, go book them now!! Thank me later :-)
There were no tables available without a reservation, but we were able to order food at the bar. Watching the bartenders create the cocktails was the best part! Food came out fast and was delicious. It was a bit of an eclectic menu, with fun options. I had the charred vegetable salad, and the flavors were amazing. The place was packed by 6pm, several people deep standing at the bar, so get there early, or reserve a table.
Fun sports bar
Perfect drinking and dining experience - went pre concert and the bartenders showed knowledge and cared about us trying different ipas and bourbon. Was then seated with another couple and the waitresss first question is if we were going to concert so she could make sure our meals where prepared in time- Food , atmosphere and staff were all winners
Great bar with a great whiskey selection, however, the posted hours were inconsistent. Bartender said if it gets slow they close down earlier than published hours, so that was disappointing. Otherwise a good place to hang out and have a cocktail.
Very average. Over priced (4 straight whiskeys cost us over $100) and the wait staff new nothing about whiskey. I appreciate that wasnt her fault but because of the stupid american tipping system it meant that you couldnt go up to the bar and talk to someone who did now the difference between different types of whiskeys and traditional whiskys.
American Whiskey is a great place to enjoy libations. The staff are awesome and attentive. The place itself is more modern than any other whisky venue around. Equally great for boys night out and girls night out.
Like a complete stooge, I made reservations for my brothers bachelor party dinner on a wrong day, but they were happy to accommodate and made room for us anyway! EXCELLENT whiskey selection, and friendly staff. I stop in often when Im in the midtown area.
Great food and great service.
Drinks and bar food. The beer selection is pretty good and the bartenders take their drinks seriously. The day we went it was much quieter than many of the other places around Penn Station at happy hour
The only reason this bar even gets stars is for the sole reason they have an above average whiskey selection in stock(for a regular bar ). If you are like me , looking for a whiskey bar for the good knowledgeable attentive service, you better off at another hipster bar.
Lets get one thing out of the way: DUCK FAT TATER TOTS.Ok. I came here to eat and drink with friends. The whiskey selection is obviously great, but the food is also pretty decent. My girlfriend and I had the grilled cheese with bacon and tater tots on the side. The tots are amazing. They are crispy and soft and savory. I really felt like I was in heaven, though the cocktails I had beforehand might have affected my impression. We were there from 7pm to 10pm on a Friday and it was pretty crowded. It isnt the best place for having a quiet conversation, though it doesnt feel like a frathouse or sports bar either. Id say it is a great place to unwind after a long day of work if you are ok with a bit of noise and crowds.
Went on a Wednesday afternoon for drinks and some snacks. We got seated right away for our group of 5. Only tried one drink, but it was delicious. Also got the tater tots with black pepper mayo which were a nice side. Would definitely consider coming back!
Good Bar in Midtown. The food selection isnt very wide, but the quality is high of what they do have. It is also quiet enough to share a conversation without yelling.
Classic rock and roll music, burger was surprisingly very good and good service. Place has a rustic, farm vibe. TVs everywhere so its great for watching sports.
Walked in on a Friday night. Half the restaurant was empty with open small tables. Asked for a table for one and was told by the hostess I could only sit at the bar which was 2 - 3 people deep. Left to spend my money elsewhere. Really poor customer service.
We have visited American Whiskey several times, each time our experience has been wonderful. The bar staff is very welcoming and very knowledgeable when asked about the amazing craft whiskeys they serve. It has become our go to spot when were in the city.
Great service and whiskey drinks! Went here before an event at nearby MSG, and everything was great. The Manhattan cocktail was one of the best Ive had. Nachos were good, just be sure to ask for meat to be added (unless youre vegetarian, of course).
This place managed to ruin tots and serve the saddest short rib sandwich that had an entire bushel of cilantro in it.The taps are clean though! Which is rare in nyc.
Barn like open space... Weak menu with add ons hiding prices on the menu. Service seemed more interested in flirting with the next table than getting orders right.
Shane and the beautiful Italian women!
Incredible whiskey selection, and great food.
Food was not good. Ribs were over cooked. My friend ordered the half chicken and it was less then a quarter of one, and it was tasteless!
The burger was way overdone, the beer was flat and most of them were not available on tap, and the winter vegetable salad was inedible (besides the cauliflower) but fun vibe :)
Visiting from Rhode Island,, after a show at the Garden we wanted a drink ,,, this place was perfect,, bartender Shannon was awesome!!! Definitely coming back next visit!!!
Food was fantastic. Whisky selection was overwhelming, in a good way. The list was well organized. Ambience was great. Service was okay.
Great place, completely wheelchair accessible and in a central location in midtown Manhattan. It was a little loud but once the crowd left, it was tolerable. Id do back!
Ok. A whiskey menu thats over 3 pages long? To me its a no brainer but when you add the patience and courtesy of the cool af bartender who had to deal with my new to whiskey butt, 5 stars all of the way. And he by chance reconnected me with the whiskey my grandmother used to drink (dont ask). They also serve food. And the lighting is intimate so perfect for a date or rendezvous.
Server talked to coworkers most of the night.... Took FOREVER to get food before our concert... Had to scarf down our food in less than two minutes and run to our show
Awesome food and drinks!Amazing staff!
Nice place with good atmosphere for drinks, like before or after an MSG event. I think the food tries to be eclectic or trendy but doesnt quite hit either mark.
Always a vibe here .nice and spacious. Jinx or average price and are made very delicious
A bit loud but still a good place to get together with friends and catch up. Extensive wiskey menu and surprisingly very good burgers, short ribs and other dishes.
Cute place, stopped by for a quick snack and cocktail.
Honestly, the only option for pre Madison Square Garden cocktails for a lick. Excellent drinks. Delish tapas. Friendly knowledgeable staff. 10 stars 🌟
If you cant find your favorite whiskey here,it doesnt exist. Appetizers were great too! Try the wings. Service was friendly and on point.
If youre looking for the Georgia bar, this is it. Food is bar food, a little pricey. Tater tots (and by extension probably other fried food also) is not vegetarian. Great place for game day, definitely a good time.
The atmosphere was amazing with absolutely wonderful food. The waitress is amazing as well. Next chance I get i will go back.
Good place for solid drinks. Didnt get happy hour prices but the drinks were solid. Good selection of beers available.
The friends i were with and my wife and myself, really liked American Whiskey and the food and service were ace, well make it our business to stop in next time in the city. Thanks for the excellent service. Tony Congema, seaford,Long Island,N.Y.
Its a good whiskey place with a fine selection of drinks in the whiskey flights. The burger was also very good, with a mild whiskey taste.
Good food good drinks and is a great spot before a Knicks or Rangers game. It will get packed closer to game time so get there early.
This bar is the real deal. Actually worked right next door for 6 months in 2018. There Customer Service is priceless, drinks fantastic, food delicious.
Stopped for a beer and appetizers. Nice little spaces by the bar, great bartenders, and a whole lot of atmosphere for the football game!
Great spot. Very good whiskey selection. The food was good as well. Ill be back for sure.
Great bar and knowledgeable staff. Awesome selection including Pappy. Good food. Very NYC prices!
Nice bar with a good atmosphere but hard to order drinks until you get a menu because their overhead chalk boards are being wasted on other advertising and even the taps have generic handles so you have no idea what is available.
One the best experiences Ive had in a long time. Great food, excellent service. Will definitely be back!
Good place, thd barkeep recommended a very good whiskey from Brooklyn from Kings County Distillery.Smooth with a smoky, woods taste...very good.
The owner of this bar accepts bribes from the NYPD to illegally delete evidence of malfeasance on the part of the police. Look up the case of Inspector Paul Zangrilli.
Good whiskey selections plus rotating flights. I think my favorite feature outside of the decor is the tater tots. The decor includes a lot of rustic charm and a few buffalo heads. Youre in the greatest city on earth but it feels like youre out west. The restuarant is well marked from the street and has plenty of room. Only a short walk from pennstation, it should be the start or end to every trip to NYC.
The Drambuie cocktail was to die for and so were the smoked wings. Very nice, upscale atmosphere. Will return!
Rustic atmosphere for NYC. Fabulous whiskey flight selection... Unique raw oysters served woth lemon flavored pop rocks.
Great experience. Lovely space. Attended the Four Roses bourbon tasting. Gold rush was delicious. Vibe was great. Bartenders were hospitable and kept drinks flowing.
During Happy Hour, they have amazing drink deals but their regular hour prices can get quite extraordinary. This is y go-to half work day drinking place.
There are definitely worse places to eat in midtown. I guess what Im saying is, for a corporate establishment, its quite good in drinks and food and even a vegetarian can be made happy.
Friendly staff, great food, nice crowds and a huge selection of whiskey, scotch, rye & bourbon – what else is there? Perfect place to watch a game.
Met the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen in person tending the bar there. Even my wife agreed she was just beautiful.
Service was good, maybe not the best because we were in large group. But, overall it was a great experience.
Drinks are very good but could be stronger, the cheese curds are a must. Steak was good as was the short rib sandwich.
Good bar with a really cool ambiance. Service wasnt great, but the food and drink options are both good.
Service is great but unfortunately the vibe and music were not there
One of my favorite places in New York City to go get a glass of whiskey. Food is awesome and atmosphere is the same.
Their refusal to put on the air conditioner when its extremely humid and hot outside is crazy. Private event by the Knicks and everyone is sweating like crazy.
An OK after work place but the bro vibe is strong here. If that is your thing, check it out. Its pretty nice inside and the music is on point.
An awesome spot. Good for commuters and friends gatherings-their space in the back upstairs is great for private parties!
Soooo many kind of whiskey!! Go there definitely if you like to drink good! Big but cozy place!
Very large whiskey selection. Loved the Old McDonald! The Brussels sprouts were to die for! And the Bison Slider are the best things Ive eaten in a long time! The decore is all American cowboy with buffalos and deers heads hanging on the wall. Large tvs for sports. Large bar on the main floor and a nice sized bar on the second floor. The second floor is great for a private party. It over looks the main floor. Will be making my way back there soon!
My go to spot for any MSG event
Went for the drinks. HUGE selection of whiskey, Some quite rare and fancy. Good atmosphere.
Good food, Great spirits
The older gentleman who was our bartender was amazing!!! We went on a Saturday where they did the after party for PBR and food still came out in such a timely fashion!!! Definitely cant wait to go back !!!!!
Used to love this place. Haven’t been here since just as Covid was starting.Just showed up at 10:35pm and the place was empty. Hours say open til midnight but when I asked a guy who was cleaning up about those hours, he said “Not tonight. Bartenders left”.Sad to see this place apparently failing.
This place is temporarily closed due to Covid-19. From the outside it looks like it is being renovated or reconfigured to properly accommodate social distancing.
As someone who works in the neighborhood, I hoped American Whiskey would be better. After inadequate service resulted in a bad tip, the server confronted and lectured me, telling me to never come back.Perhaps I wont.
Dope establishment, friendly staff. Great food, top notch whiskey and wine selection.
Great experience when you go here ask for the bartender Esteban best bartender I know
Wish we had some food, but the kitchen was closed by the time we got there. The drinks were good. Wish they carried Bullet. Definitely was a lively crowd of people age ranging from late 20s to 50s.
Good food, questionable service, standard sports bar atmosphere
Had a very well made old fashioned, pricey, but on par with many other bars in Manhattan.
Wasnt bad nice environment food was good but not a big menu to choose from
Best cocktails in my opinion, they put extra effort and the bartenders are nice.
Excellent Whiskey bar, Katie made me the best Whiskey Sour I have very had, highly recommended.
As good a game watching experience as there is!
Game music not loud enough.
🚫 HORRIBLE!!! 🚫 Awful and disgusting drinks, rude and unprofessional service, excessively priced for garbage! Stay away from this miserable dump!!! Thumbs down, way down!!! 🤢☹️😡😤😠😟😡😲🤢😬😤🤔😡😒🤢☹️😱😩😳😡😮🤢😣😤😖😡😧🤢😒😯😖😱🤢😟☹️😡🤔😵🤢😞😤☹️😱😡😤
Staff was phenomenal, atmosphere was electric and it wasnt overly crowded. Great place to visit!
Nice spot with good drink options. Recommend a whiskey flight, which despite the price is worth sampling multiple options.
The food was good, the staff were polite, the whiskey was great!
Willett & Blanton
Very weird a couple spend 300 dollars in a $$ sign bar. They charged us 14 neat Jameson plus a bunch of beer. When I had 4 and my coworker had 10???? Just weird. We would be pass out drunk. When I asked the bartender, which btw was distant and cold the entire evening, how was that possible, he said we were there for 5 hours. Yes we were not 5 hours, but this didn’t mean we were drinking 5 hours like maniacs. We were gathering which most likely will take longer than usual specially at a dive bar for an end of the year catch up. If we were two people on a bar getting drunk for 5 hours we would barely standing up with a 300 check. We are industry so we def know how it works and we are def not coming back or any of our staff. We are managers at a big corporate company and we make sure all our staff know about how this place treaats industry and how they over charge assuming people are intoxicated.
Good food and service, a little pricier than I was expecting but was not disappointed. Would go again.
I didnt have any food, but the bartender was excellent and the drinks were on point!
Lots of drinks to chose from, $1 oysters during happy hour!
Food was okay, drinks were really good they make homemade mixers which i love. Service was great our waitress was very nice and attentive. Cups, plates, napkins that were given to us were dirty like food still stuck on dirty…
Great place for whisky love even for first time drinkers of whisky . Great staff.
Incredible setup, awesome staff and a killer bourbon list. Can a boy ask for anything more I think not
Great atmosphere and the food is fantastic, especially the wings!
Server service could have been more competent. Otherwise good atmosphere
Great place! Befriend Esto, best bartender.
Great service and delicious drinks make this place worth considering after a long day of work.
Closes at 12 but food and drinks were good. Had to wait a little bit for our food and drinks but still a good experience.
Went here for a party. The finger food was very tasty. I loved the sliders.
Bro-y crowd. Great selection of whiskeys. A bit pricey for the neighborhood.
Fantastic Bar with great drinks. Cozy speak easy setting.
Stopped in for some late night drinks & the place wasnt too crowded so it was laid back. Bartenders were great. Looks like I found a new spot to hit before catching the train home.
Been a staple for years. Crowds need to come back for it to feel like it used to.
Great pub before the Rangers game. Had the smoked wings and a cold beer. The wings were very tasty
Great whiskey selection. Good food and plenty of tvs.
Lovely place with great drinks, nice atmosphere and staff!
The service, food and atmosphere were excellent.
Excellent food! Everything we all bought was delicious. Our waitress was the sweetest and service was fast. I can’t wait to go into the city so we can go again.Prices were very reasonable especially considering you’re in the middle of NYC.The Bar was gorgeous lt was like stepping back in time to a beautiful Irish bar from the late 1800’s.The hanger steak appetizer was a huge win! And the shepards pie was also on top of the must eat there!
Georgia bar.. beware! 😉Jk, great for drinkers of any team. Bee is good, happy hour is good - would recommend!
Great service, delicious food and drinks, quaint atmosphere!
Empty bar, but turned away because they were “fully committed”. For a game that is 3 hours away??? Not sure how they are in business...
Love this place ! Staff is great but specially one of the owners, John, he’s a cutie ☺️
Good place for the MSG pregame. Limited menu, but good drink prices.
Great drinks. Bartenders know their stuff. A bit loud for conversation. I didnt try the food but would definitely go back.
Lamb chops are really good for the price ! Service was great too . Always a good time had by all .
Great bartenders, Kate in particular. High ceilings and the crowd is nice.
Pandemic is over. Stop being cheap by using a QR code accessible menu and actually cater to those that are willing to pay your ridiculous prices for adolescent sized portions by printing menus. Good for staff though as they dont have menus to wipe down. Setting is woody but sterile. Best thing here is the spirits selection but there are other choices. Management overhaul that is customer focused needed here.
Seriously, the female bartender working on Friday Dec the 15th. Lighten the F up, your sarcasm and poor customer service are clearly the reason why the bar was empty at 9:30 and everything else around you was packed. Upper management....maybe pay more attention? And update your online menu of available offerings. Damn, talk about a buzz kill.
Awesome bourbon, what more can I say!!!
Nice bar. Gets busy.
Great place to watch a UGA game. Really good food and service.
Love the music and vibe. Ladies, you must order a she wolf.
Great option for drinks before MSG. Plenty of TVs and great for sports events.
Love 💘 this place, had a 👍 time. Atmosphere, grown and sexy.
Good music, in tune with whatever concert there is at MSG
The place was really nice, but the service sucks. The customer service needs an overhaul. The good thing is, the drinks are strong. Strong drinks are needed to keep your patience intact. 2 of the bartenders were really rude.
Decent bar and restaurant, a little pricey but thats the area..
Great whiskey selection. High ceilings. Kind staff.
The strike me dead rye cocktail was delicious!!!
