The outside is very nondescript and doesnt even have a sign, but when you walk in you feel like youre in the belly of a Japanese bar in Tokyo. The food was out of this world good on the cocktails knocked it out of the park. The parmesan and truffle cocktail is a must order.

Oysters ✅ Spicy Fried Chicken Bun ✅ Kyoto and Sapporo Ramen ✅ We will definitely be back! Quaint restaurant with extensive cocktail menu including the drink that was smoking..literally. Staff is attentive and great. The place is pretty small (the bar seats 8, inside tables seat about 22 total, and there’s limited outdoor dining with just 2 tables seating 2 ppl each) but it’s big on taste and service!!! This place is cozy and small but always packed. It is located near where I live. Let me say that I only I had 2 drinks and the drinks were excellent and very Japanese inspire. The service was excellent. My bartender was Joshie, such a cutie and excellent customer service. ( Sorry if I misspelled the name) He was charming and very knowledgeable. Since it is only my first time, but definitely not my last. Try the Japanese old-fashion drink!

I came as a solo during happy hour & sat at the bar … oysters were 1.75$ , clean, fresh and yummyDrink was pretty pricey (17$) but definitely worth the try, the aroma and craft of the drink was appreciated. I had “the smoke”.Also tried the shrimp bun , soooo soft it almost melted in my mouth ! Food was AMAZING! I would visit again!

Dont walk, run to get here. Everything was insanely good and also made me drool a lot due to flavor combinations that were like a circus troop performing in your mouth. Tigers and elephants and all. The roe and sea urchin was an uppercut to the taste buds. Theres also a trashy lingerie store down the street that has buy 2, get 2 free as well as a 25% off exclusive card at the door, although they seemed to be giving it to everyone.

Fantastic drinks and good ramen. The chicken katsu bun was such a great appetizer, it was even cut in half to share. My friend and I went exactly at 5:01 pm to this place and immediately was greeted and sat down. Already an amazing experience. We look at the menu and drinks and we decide on getting Pork buns/Shrimp buns, Summer cold Ramen, and Bone Marrow with Wagyu beef soulless ramen & the Sea Urchin deviled eggs with the Pineapple+Passionfruit and a Mescow Spicy drink. My only complaint was that the Bone Marrow could’ve had a bit more fat in the bone itself, it was mostly green onions. The presentation for the pineapple drink was so cute, didnt expect that! The place itself is intimate and small, I can tell why it’s first come first serve. The best thing on their menu for me was definitely their pork buns. 9/10!! Would definitely return and it is worth a try!

The bartenders put on quite the show 🍻 One guy literally looks like an anime character with his hair lol. The presentation of the pineapple passion fruit drink was surprising 😲 it tastes sweet and tropical too. The shrimp bun is not too spicy, just mild. It was good. The karaage was delish, like lemon chicken; the matcha salt topping gave it a nice flavor. And of course, the reality. Oh the ramen 🍜 So decadent. Flavorful. Came to ROKC (btw not pronounced Rocci like someone else mentioned - stands for Ramen, Oysters, Kitchen, Cocktail) for the first time after my partner raved about it for years as the best ramen in the city... well, he was NOT wrong. The ramen was very good, BUT everything else was just as delicious and made the whole experience perfect. We ordered yuzu edamame and those have to be the beet tasting edamame’s god has ever created. It was the perfect amount of salt and spice to start your night. If you liked shrimp, I HIGHLY suggest getting the spicy shrimp bun! Those fried shallots make the perfect crunch with every bite. I want to go back just to order 10 more of those. I ordered the Kyoto ramen and it was everything I needed on a cold winter night.Their drinks are out if this world. If you like mezcal, I suggest the Mexican Firing Squad. Mezcal and spicy tequila 👌🏽. The Oaxaca Old Fashioned is also a must on their menu. I’m a big mezcal/tequila kinda guy and I was not disappointed.I suggest either getting there at EXACTLY 5, or a bit before. We got lucky and sat down at 5:15 in an outside table. There was someone in front of us who was missing a party member and they were not seated until everyone arrived. We got lucky and sat down. There are 3 heated tables outside and one near the entrance (outdoors). The heaters were great, but we went in around 38 degree weather. They were perfect for our legs, but I might suggest being a blanket and bundling up until you get your warm ramen.Again, HIGHLY suggest and it’s worth the wait.

The first thing you’ll notice after walking in the extensive bar and its many offerings. The cocktails at ROKC were phenomenal, each with their own personality, flavor profile, and presentation. We highly recommend trying a few cocktails. In beautiful ceramic bowls, they’ll bring some delicious chicken-based ramen. Less rich than the popular Tonkatsu ramen, this beautiful bowl of broth and homemade noodles instantly warms you up. Layered flavors deep within the broth really make this bowl of ramen a fantastic experience. We also ordered oysters and the kaarage (fried chicken), which were both absolutely delicious.

I must say I was very disappointed with everything at this restaurant. I understand waiting to be seated if its peak hours when everyone is going to dinner, but I dont like to be rushed out after finally being seated from a 30-minute wait. I also found it a bit rude when the server just plopped the drink down on the table. I thought it was perfume for a moment because thats what it tasted like, but I was reassured it was not as sweet as I was told, and it was indeed the drink I asked for. The ramen I ordered was very bland, and there werent many choices to choose from for someone who doesnt eat pork or shellfish. Upon finishing the meal, the hostess attempted to rush us out by placing her dirty hands on the lips of my water glass I was drinking and said, We have more people waiting to eat. We really only give you 90 minutes to sit here. I glanced over at a few tables that were seated about an hour before us and told her to excuse herself and not to rush us. I also assured her we wouldnt be coming back after a failed attempt she made by having some guy come from the back to attempt and take our receipt.

Very good ramen and oyster bar! Oysters were delicious, and ramen is as well. Cocktails are also pretty phenomenal honestly, and very specially made. Definitely one of those places where you hear the “oo’s and ah’s” as people get their cocktails, which are sometimes on fire or have an incense burning in the ice.Only two downsides, which for me, are somewhat big players and definitely make you have to consider when you come here. This place is small and it seems to always be PACKED. The first night we tried to get in here, we waited an hour and a half and ended up leaving because it was likely we would’ve waited another hour with how many were in front of us.Other thing that bothers me the most is service is pretty poor here in my opinion. The server seemed like he could care less for us to have a good experience, and we had to try to grab whoever we could to put in another drink order and get water refills. Maybe it’s the level of chaos in here due to how busy they are, but definitely a major downside to the good food and cocktail you receive.Other notes: price point is on the higher side, but for the most part, what I expect in NYC.#rokc #ramen #oysters #cocktails #newyork #ny #nyc

After seeing all the glowing reviews and mouth watering photos on Google and IG, I was excited to visit ROKC for a bowl of their Sapporo miso ramen. Unfortunately between rude service and ramen that was completely lacking in depth, I will not be coming back. The broth lacked miso taste - the main flavors were butter and cream, and combined with the corn, this made for a flavor profile more similar to corn consomme than ramen (miso ramen is my go-to, but Ive never had one that tasted like corn consomme before!). Scallions piled on top lacked the crispiness you would expect from fresh stock. The noodle texture was good (al dente) but did not appear to be homemade, which you can actually find in this price range across the city.

Your best bet for ramen & Japanese food in this part of town. The cocktails are splended (try Truffle and Flower!), appetizers are delish (recommend the Melty Pork Buns), and ramen is savory. Our party of 6 came here the night when Hurricane Ida was hitting NYC. We wanted to sit outside and had a dry table that worked great. Towards the end of the evening there was a tornado warning and we sought shelter inside where we were invited to wait out the storm. The staff that night were welcoming, generous, kind, and were clearly super dedicated workers. I look forward to coming back.

This place has some of the best cocktails and ramen in NYC. I have been multiple times and have never been disappointed with the atmosphere, service or execution. The only negative is the constant wait for a table ( A tell of how amazing it is). Have a pork bun and the vegetarian mushroom ramen. Edit: years later this is all still true, switch it up and go for the yokosuka or beef and bone marrow ramen!

Wow, I was truly very impressed with ROKC. Everything from the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere was excellent. The ramen dishes are inventive, luxurious, and delicious. I had the wagyu ramen with bone marrow and it was INCREDIBLE. Never had anything like that before. The beef was sweet and savory and melted in your mouth and the sauce was rich but didn’t make you feel bloated or like it was too much oil. I think the bone marrow paired nicely with the scallions on top which provided some sharpness and acidity to balance the flavors. The appetizers were on point as well. I especially loved the karaage chicken with matcha salt- probably the best karaage I’ve ever had. I also found the edamame with a hint of yuzu in it very addictive. My husband ordered the summer cold ramen and that was also delicious as well - it had a nice amount of spice and bit more brine from the seaweed but it was perfectly balanced and very refreshing. For the quality of food and overall experience ROKC is definitely one of the next restaurants I have been to in NYC period. I would love to come back here again and highly recommend it!

Honestly I was extremely underwhelmed. I’ve been here twice before and had a pretty decent experience both times but after this week I don’t know if I’ll ever go again. We had two waitresses and they were both extremely rude. The first waitress told us she preferred we don’t sit since we wanted to sit inside we told her we wanted to order a drink while we wait and she huffed and said alright whatever fine . After when coming to take our order she was extremely aggressive . Finally when we got seated inside we got another waitress who got extremely annoyed that we asked for hot sauce and slammed it on the table. Over the ramen was good but based on the awful service I’d rather commute further to have an experience that will allow me to actually enjoy my food.

So if youre waiting on one person youre pretty much screwed because you have to wait some more since the place gets pretty packed so once they arrive even if its 10mins later, your waiting time restarts till next available seating. Really outstanding! We went to ROKC shortly after they opened a couple of years back and thought it was good but no big deal. That was when they had a very limited menu. We finally went back and - WOW. Every morsel was amazing. We had the pork buns (probably the best Ive had), the shrimp avocado appetizer (also very good), and the Kyoto ramen (one of the best bowls of ramen I have had in the city - so flavorful!). If that had been that, I would have been thrilled. But we got some drinks as well and this place really lives up to the hype in regard to the drinks. Let me put it this way - one friend got a drink with beets and I really dislike beets but this drink was so interesting, so good, that I honestly might order it in the future. You might wait for a while for a seat though, and I dont know if they do reservationsPros: Taste, qualityCons: Price vs serving size (I spent $50 and left hungry - this was for one bowl of ramen, a shrimp bun, a matcha latte drink, two sake steamed oysters, and one bluepoint oyster)Also, its a small restaurant. If I go again, Im focusing on two bowls of ramen instead of appetizers. These are small portion sizes, and your ideal combination is probably two different bowls of ramen, and one drink if youre not a believer yet (will put you in the neighborhood of $40 before tax and tip). I fell in love with ROKC just after it reopened post pandemic shutdown. my bf introduced me. Id never had ramen or karaage before. their kyoto made my palette soar and the karaage was sooo yummy. but as of late the recipe has been inconsistent, sometimes the kyoto is very spicy then others not so much. they,ve reduced the number of braised pork in the ramen, down by one and sometimes the fat is poorly trimmed and I get a piece thats mostly fat. the karaage has also changed and not for the better. it used to be juicy and flavorful, now its over cooked and just a more salty profile. there are not many good ramen spots in nyc, let alone in northern manhattan. I really wish with all my heart they would get back to the way they used to be.

From about 5:30-9:30 theres usually an hour wait. Alternatively, go, put your name down and grab a drink somewhere else - just make sure to tell the hostess youll be back and notify them when you get back so you dont just your spot in line. My new favorite place in the neighborhood! ROKC is an initialism for Ramen Oysters Kitchen and Cocktails. This cozy nook is quite an intimate setting frequented by locals and you will always be greeted with a smile by the owners and staff! Each ramen dish is carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and a delectable indulgence. I am not a big fan of ramen, but can scarf down any of the ones on the menu! My recommendations are the Vegetable and Hakata.ROKC is an excellent place for oysters! They are fresh, delicate, light, and are a good selection between sweet and briney. If you know your oysters, youll know your picks. If you dont, or just want to be adventurous, ask them to fix a spread for you and theyll gladly oblige.Lastly, ROKCs menu of cocktails is unparalleled in Harlem. Not only are there new iterations of classics, theres myriad inventive new drinks, as well. My favorite is the Flower, a delicate, chilled drink with lavender aroma and truly floral taste. But theyre not just delicious, each drink is uniquely served in a different glass/cup/container that makes them works of art. The Flower is served in a bulb over ice in a mirror flower pot, garnished with rosebuds and lavender stalks. I recommend sitting at the bar at some point in order to bear witness to the theatrics of mixology. My wife is an optimist and she explains easier to get drinks here. Meanwhile Im 64 260 sitting on my coat trying not knock people over when I reach for my napkin.Deep breath.I order some version of a old fashion in an iced tea cup which the bartender liberally sprays absinthe making it taste a lot like chilled cough syrup just thinner. (Almost like you took Robitussin and put it on ice in a plastic double cup.) A dozen wellfleets, all still firmly attached and floating in a pond of broken shells. She orders Sapporo or something to that effect (chicken ramen/hominy) one slice of chicken and to cans of corn, if you want the recipe. I on the other hand got creative and ordered the Curried ramen with shrimp. Comes with 4 shrimp, 4 pieces of ice cold cauliflower and a bowl of ramen noodles totally glued together with some shrimp paste. Too thick for chopsticks to thick for the horderves spoon they give you. By the way kitchen closes in ten, last call, chimes the waitress at which point I realize no ever even asked if the food was okay.We also got some cotton candy beer mussels those were great. So if you want go watch the bartender super complicate getting drunk and leave dissatisfied. Heres your spot. I initially have this place a five but time changes all this one quicker than most.

After 2 hours at the restaurant, they notified us of the 90 minutes rule and asked us to leave the restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to other parents or people looking to have a good time.

As usual the food and service was excellent. The oysters were spot on and my ramen was so tasty. Get there early because it fills up quickly.😊

Excellent but somewhat expensive. If you can grab their happy hour oyster deal, its great. The oysters are delicious but tiny. Their spicy fried chicken sandwich was delicious, as were all the cocktails there. The highlight of the exprience for me was the Smoke cocktail which was one of the best cocktails Ive ever had. My friends and I agreed that it tasted like being in a wood cabin. It was phenomenal. Ive taken to recreating it at home.

The food, the service and the cocktails. You dont expect to find this place in Harlem. A real modern japanese food. Never have I ever loved a noodle as much as their curry noodles with shrimps. OmG absolutely amazing pair it with their french sauvignon blanc its beyond perfect. Their appetizer chicken is just nothing like you tasted before. The service is more than remarquable. I maybe went there over 6 times in 2 months. Everything is beyond great. Vegan options. Vegetarian options. And meat lovers options. The food is simply incredibly tasty and good. Worth going there from anywhere in NYC. The place is beyond amazing. The real kind of spot that you need to discover. No words can describe how mucb the rokc is a place to try.Update: so disappointed the place didnt invest in outdoor heaters! Bummer.

A craving for Sunday night ramen led me to ROKC, and I could not have stumbled upon a more enjoyable experience! The warmly lit, cozy atmosphere strikes a balance between rustic minimalist and 20s speakeasy - and the drink selection resonates with the latter. Made the freezing weather melt right away.As for the food, I nearly fell into my Kyoto ramen! Savory broth, tender pork belly, delicately plated with the look of a $$$ restaurant.I will def. be coming back for happy hour, with many friends in tow!

Excellent cocktails, amazing food. My friend wanted a non-alcoholic cocktail. Waiter said they could do a nice lemonade. It was really delicious! Can get a little loud, but its worth it.

Best ramen and edamame Ive had in this city so far. The ambience is perfection and the mixology drinks are always something fun and exciting.
