We went to support a friend doing a solo show and this place was great! They had a dueling pianos event right after which looks like a lot of fun. I would recommend this place for anyone going to NYC for a fun place to hang out!
I would recommend skipping this on your next trip. The musicians were okay and of course singing along to songs is always fun but the drink prices are absurd. Two drinks $50??? Very small place - I was hoping for something a bit larger were you could see the musicians. Ive been to much better dueling piano bars so I was sad since this is NYC and I expected a lot more for the money. There are QR codes where you can send money to the musicians to play your song - $30 bucks and no luck. Oh well ....
What an amazing piano bar experience! This place is a true gem in NYC. The unique concept of two grand pianos with incredibly talented players creates an unforgettable atmosphere. We were lucky enough to visit on a night when off-Broadway singers were there, turning the evening into an amazingly impromptu performance.Originally planning to bar-hop, we were so captivated that we stayed all night. Its a must-visit destination for anyone in New York City looking for an authentic and extraordinary night out.Whether youre a local or a tourist, dont miss this one-of-a-kind piano bar. Its the kind of place that reminds you why NYC is the entertainment capital of the world. Highly recommend!
My friend and I were very excited for this special night out, its not often we get to go and every venue is carefully chosen. Unfortunately, we were pretty disappointed about this one. At $25 per person we got a table in the isle and could barely move without bumping into the next table or people bumping into us. Then, once the show started the money grab was honestly shameful and insulting; you pay to request a song, you pay to write messages to your friends on a billboard and you even pay to Stop a song! theres is also a mandatory 2 drink minimum and 20% service!! And all that on top of the $25 per person entry! In a city with so many options I would recommend you look elsewhere.
I didnt have food but attended a fundraiser there and staff was cordial and my drinks were excellent
Food was ok, basic bar food. Service left a lot to be desired. Took quite a while to be acknowledged. Then was spotty throughout the night. Server just brought beer without asking and there was no agreement on that. She also just removed unfinished plates from the table. She would just walk by and take it. It was so loud it was difficult to stop either of those from happening. Was there for a dueling piano which was ok, now if you’re there for one of those performances unless you’re willing to tip at least $40 per song, don’t even bother you’d be wasting your money; they will not play it.
Great experience! We had so much fun listening to the piano players. Matt was awesome! Def recommend if you’re in NYC
What an awesome place, fun atmosphere, great vibes, dueling pianos are phenomenal, food and drinks are yummy yummy, love the list of musician named cocktails, when the crowd gets going and singing along with the dealing pianos you are in the most awesome place in NYC, Hells Kitchen district. I highly suggest to make the trip and visit you will not be disappointed.
Justin was friendly and fantastic. He was so sweet, made our night. He found us salt when the bar didn’t have any; he got us a water when we requested even when it was crazy busy. Highly recommend!
The best service Ever from Sara! Welcoming, kind, her charisma made me want to come back here because she took such great care of our group :) even on a busy night she CRUSHED it! Our friends had a blast thank you Sara !!!!
Absolutely amazing piano bar. Highly recommended. An amazing evening. We’ll be back on our next visit to NYC!
Came with a friend to the dueling pianos with Alan Bukoweicki and Matt Kelley, and it was one of the best nights Ive ever had in NYC. The venue is so intimate, the food was good bar food, and the servers were great. The dueling pianos show was SO FUN! I cant recommend enough!
I had a great evening at Bar 9! Justin is the best behind the bar. Great live music as well!
The most incredible night at Bar 9! Staff, music, doormen were all the best we experienced in NYC. Couldnt recommend it enough if you want a fun filled night in midtown!
Extra cold beers, a pool table, snacks, & a side of karaoke show tunes - couldnt ask for more! dont expect fancy though, its the perfect kind of dive: a little grunge and grit with great bartenders. so happy bar nine is still alive and made it through the panini.
Bar9 is the perfect place to go with your friends for a chill night with some live music. Shoutout to Jake for the great vodka crans and Sydney for AMAZING live music. Pop in for a great time!!
I went there on St Paddy’s Day with some friends to celebrate my birthday and we had a great time! David Kelly was at the piano that night and did an amazing job singing and engaging the crowd. Definitely will go back.
Such a fun night at the dueling pianos in Bar Nine! The pianists were incredible and the service was fantastic. Will definitely be back!!
Friendly staff, good music and excellent chicken parmigiana. 👍🏼
We went here to celebrate a future bride as part of a bachelorette weekend and WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME. The performers; Matt and Alan, were so talented and fun to watch! It was one of the most interactive dueling piano bar performances Ive ever been a part of. I would ABSOLUTELY HIGHLY recommend coming and enjoying the show because you will definitely have a great time.
Went in March and had one of the most fun nights in my life. Brought my mother the second time I went, and she said, “Tonight was one of the best nights of my life!” Thank you Bar 9!!
The evening was so much fun! A must do in NYC! My daughter surprised us and paid the bill over the phone and the staff kept it a secret until the end of the night! Great night thank you!
Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a wild night out! The dueling piano shows are a ton of fun, and as a musician myself I was seriously impressed at how they were able to keep the energy dialed up to 11 for four straight hours.Food is your typical bar fare; I ordered the sliders which were very tasty. Drink selection/prices are solid as well.
One of the best down to earth bars in NYC, the chemistry of the 2 duelli g pianists is something to behold, excellent vibe, located in the Hells Kitchen area of mid town Manhattan, make sure you book in advance otherwise you maybe disappointed
Great service! she served me a diet coke with a smile and then went on to sing like a pro
The pianists and talent are incredible! No complaints about that, and we enjoyed the music thoroughly. That said, this is not a place for vegetarians/vegans. They have virtually 0 options for such dietary restrictions and even things like fries are fried in the same oil as meat. They were also unable to make anything upon request. So just an FYI to people with such restrictions!
Justin is so cool, made me a drink that wasn’t on the menu and knew what i was talking about even though it was kinda niche.
A hidden gem in nyc! I’ve been here quite a few times over the years including celebrating my 25th bday here with many friends and coming last weekend with my parents (I’m 30 now). It’s always a fun time - extremely talented musicians, good drinks, nice people. I never hesitate when anyone wants to come here. Nothing fancy but tons of character.
Great dueling piano avenue.. great gathering place for food and fun. Pool table is a great place to gather. Private events can be scheduled. Talented performer and the owner Steve is ready to make you feel part of the “Cheers” ambiance. Great find in NYC midtown!
Too much fun!!! Pay the dueling pianos players and you can have a great night singing along. These guys know every song known to man. Relaxed atmosphere with good music and great audience participation. Have fun, go to Bar 9!
So much fun! Great atmosphere with awesome drinks.
Fantastic place for dueling pianos! Be sure to check their website for when they play (and end). The night we were there, it stopped at 10pm (which is early for NYC). Good drink specials also. They played our requests and we had a blast.
I hosted a surprise 30th birthday for one of my old college friends at Bar Nine and we had the absolute BEST time!!! The bar’s manager couldn’t have been more helpful and kind and helped me set up the whole party for a group of 15! The drinks were awesome, the service was amazing, and the music was top notch! We had the best time and can’t wait to visit again soon! Thank you Bar Nine for an incredible night with all my college friends!!
Favorite bar in nyc. dueling pianos are super fun, the drinks are reasonable, and the bar isn’t overly crowded! feels like a hidden gem! $10 cover on a friday
Vibes are great! We loved Denise as our waitress!
Went to watch a bluegrass band. Beer was reasonably priced, and although I didnt get food, it did look good. The bathrooms in the basement could use a little work.
Definitely the highlight of my trip to NYC. I went to Bar 9 on a Wednesday to take advantage of the buffet wings special. The wings were great! I tried to sample all 10 flavors but could only make it to 5. I recommend trying the Hennessey Pina Colada...definitely one of the best youll ever drink. The best part of the night was the dueling pianos. Those ladies can sing!! Theyve got an extensive repertoire of songs that spans quite a few years. The staff were also amazing. Tables were all booked up and the guy at the was able to secure one for us in seconds. The waitress was lovely and checked up on us regularly to ensure that we were enjoying our night. Bar 9 is a must visit!!!
This place is my new happy place! 10/10. Awesome sing-along with the talented dueling pianos, very friendly staff and incredibly hard working owner- I wish the whole world was like this! The chicken fingers were better than chick-filet! We had a blast!
First off I had really great service here. I entered Friday 6pm when they opened. They created a cocktail for me called fire island. It was amazing highly recommend it! My friend and I had alot of fun playing on the brand new pool table. The food was great we split a cheeseburger and chicken tenders. Cant go wrong with simple bar food. It was a great spot to pregame before I went to my concert. I definitely need to come back here
Very good atmosphere, friendly staff. Happy hour from 5-7, and live music from 9.
Justin was so nice and welcoming. drinks were really good!
We had a great time at Bar 9! We rented it out for a private event and worked out so well. I would highly recommend. Their staff is great too - very accommodating!
Best bachelor party location! we had a blast
Vibes were amazing, Justin behind the bar rocks! And sherry was amazing
Fun space. Dueling pianos is a must do whether you’re visiting or a local
First night in NYC and my wife and I were looking for a good time. A friend of mine recommended we go online and reserve a table at Bar Nine and enjoy the dueling pianos. We have seen a lot of shows in NYC, but nothing compares to the good time we had at this dueling piano club. The front door bouncer and manager treated us like celebrities, after I screwed up our reservation date. These guys made sure we had a good time and enjoy the show. The performers were absolutely top notch and every single request, they covered those songs almost as good as the original artist! They had everyone singing and dancing with it five minutes into the show and this was a Thursday night. If we lived in NYC, we would go broke going there every night. The energy is infectious and the drinks / food was delicious! I dont care how challenging of a day you have or problems you may be facing, going to Bar Nine is freaking good therapy! My wife and I were so horse from singing, we had to use sign language to communicate with the Uber driver! Its better than five stars and more fun than 100 stars. Go to Bar Nine, and be prepared to dance, sing and have a great time!
So much fun :) the trivia aint too hard either
This place is a lot of fun 🤩 amazing talent in the heart of the city, great service, room to dance, and very accommodating general manager— thank you for the stand out service.
Was visiting NYC for the weekend and saw this bar as I was walking by and decided to stop in. It had a live show and was packed. Had great vibes and the crowd was singing with the band. The bartender was pretty quick and I got a blue moon for $9. Made my way to the back, and hung out by the pool table. Overall a nice bar near Times Square.
Anastasia had tremendous service, and I loved her vibe!
We went to the Dueling Pianos on a Saturday on a friend’s urging! Im glad we listened! Great entertainment and the coldest beer we’d had all day! Book ahead! It’s worth it!
So much fun. Great performance by both singers and excellent drummer. They know so many songs. Also good service and very friendly people.
Excellent place, great atmosphere and good prices on beers. Saturday very entertaining live music from 60,s to now.
Had an absolute blast here with a group of friends/family to celebrate my 30th birthday! The musicians were great, and played a ton of our requests. They openly acknowledged my birthday, as well as any other attendees birthdays or special events. Our waitress was amazing and there was never a long wait for our drink/food orders. Customer service helped me reserve a front table in advanced ahead of time. Their weekend night shows also start at 8:30pm, where others start so late, like past 10:30pm. I appreciate this because Im not sure I could have convinced my whole group to do this if it were past 10pm or something. I would absolutely come back in the future!
I was there last week, my server Denise recommended we try the Chicken Parmesan & Chicken Francese I certainly did not expect that type of food from a bar, when I tell you my husband said it was the best Chicken Parmesan it was definitely worth it; As I myself fell in love with the Chicken Francese it truly reminded me of home. As for Aaron the head chef I cannot express how delicious this meal was and how the service was excellent . Next time we’re in town we will be coming back. I’d also like to add the music was great. The ambience was more than what I could of imagined being in a bar. I highly recommend Bar Nine to anyone who is in town or from the area looking for great food and amazing service.
We were met with nothing but the most genuine hospitality! Great music, great people, great drinks!
The duelling pianos show in this small venue was a true NYC experience. Worth every penny you spend that evening. Make a reservation.
Rude bartender. She charged $20 for a “vodka” full of ice and told me the tip was included? The tip is not an obligation and she cannot decide how much I have to leave. On top of that she charges 20 dolllars and serves it in a plastic cup. ridiculous
The food was surprisingly really good!! The pianists were such good sports and super fun. The night progressively got more and more fun. Drinks were really great
The 7 pepper wings was too hot after being told they were mild, have a high heat tolerance but my wife does not. Was too hot for me too. ALSO BEWARE THEY ADD THE TIP TO THE BILL AND REQUEST YOU TIP ANOTHER AT LEAST 20% ON TOP OF AMOUNT+TIP. They bring the tablet out which doesnt itemize. ALWAYS ASK FOR ITEMIZED RECIEPT BEFORE PAYING.
I had a great experience and Anastasia was super sweet
Being with folks that I can trust is more important than GOLD. The atmosphere was joyful & festive & everyone was acting like genuine family... EVERYONE! 🌹✌🏾🥳
There is nothing else you can ask for.Incredible talents playing piano and singing requests from audience. All kind of genre.Friendly staff , excellent service, affordable prices.Get your tickets onlineI had amazing time and will definitely come back
The most fun you can have in a night! Fantastic music and very friendly staff that are super attentive.I’ve been a few times and cannot wait to go back!!!
Awesome experience and so much fun!! Denise is amazing and made the night so enjoyable for our best friend’s birthday!
So much fun! No other place like it in Manhattan! Servers are all nice and work hard! The talent is great and variety of music is incredible
Justin behind the bar was very knowledgeable and great at his job!
Atmosphere was amazing. The Deuelling Piano event was entertaining and skillfully done. Great evening out to enjoy good music, entertainment, and friends.
Literally the best place ever. You want a unicorn? It’s here waiting for you. The best piano bar in NYC. We come here every time we’re in town and it never disappoints. No trip to NYC is complete without a trip to Bar 9.
Sara was amazing! As was Jared! Best place in HK!
The duelling pianos is really fun!!! The piano players are amazing and crack great jokes. I never been to piano bar before that but that was a great time and I will probably go back at some point
Nice staff and they had the best wings I’ve ever had. Highly recommend
Really good!! My waitress Adriana made sure that I never had an empty drink in front of me. I then went to the bar for a couple more drinks and Emily the bartender took fantastic care of me. She is also an amazing singer! Very fun!
Group of friends gathered for a great time at Bar Nine. Im glad we had a reservation, it was crowded on that Saturday pm. Drinks were solidly good. Atmosphere and entertainment were top notch!
We have been there yesterday for the Dueling Piano Show. Great people, tasty drinks and good Music. Thank you Guys
Been to this spot a few times over the years! Great ambience and incredible vibes!! The staff is tentative and engaged! The performers are prepared and talented!! The owner is visible and ensures all his guests are taken care of!! If you’re in city I highly recommend you stop by!!
Our favorite place to hangout! Always a good time!
Live music, beer, food and games. You have everything you can ask in bar. One of me preferred places in NYC
Good food, nice place to hang out
Bar Nine is a fantastic spot if you are looking for a night out with friends. The pianists do an exceptional job at entertaining the crowd and sing every song with full commitment as well as interact with the crowd so well. The ONLY downfall to this place is the other entertainment that tries to happen during the show. I believe hes the owner of the bar, always tries to be the entertainment as well and in the most obnoxious ways. Ive been multiple times to bar nine because how great the pianists are but every time I go, the owner finds some way to put the attention on himself at some point. This last time I went, he brought a bat out and was hitting the stage during the song before he cheats. I could tell I wasnt the only one in the crowd that was watching him and thinking, WTF is this guy doing? Not much later, he brought out a bottle of alcohol and lit it on fire and pretended he was going to swallow it. The guy acts like a college kid starving for attention and cant help himself everytime Ive gone which is a shame because everything else about the place is great. Let the professionals be the entertainment, they do a FANTASTIC job of it. Stop stepping out randomly and feeling like you need some of the attention too. Again, the ACTUAL entertainment is amazing and Alan is one of the best performers there. Im so excited everytime I find out hes going to be one of the pianists. I just hope the owner realizes at some point that people bought tickets to see the performers, not him.
When a bar has to charge $15.00 for a very small, 1 oz shot, of Jager it is sad. Cute space with a nice staff but their prices are completely ridiculous. I will never step foot in the place again after getting ripped off for a simple shot of alcohol. Most bars nearby are far less expensive so save your $ and go elsewhere.
Rachel is an amazing server- we loved our time hanging in the front row and singing our hearts out! Fun for all ages!
Loved the band, best music in town.Plus The serveur Justin is the best !!
Definitely a super chill place in hells kitchen , live music most days and piano bar , the holiday drinks are really fun and tasty , surely a place to hang low key, the one gripe i had was this place does cover charge , i think that kinda stop me from going back, i feel like noone especially in hells kitchen needs to pay cover charge since there are soo many options, soo maybe if they remove that the bar would be more crowded .. other than that a really chill atmosphere.
Fantastic vibes, pool, beers, and band :)GO TO JUSTIN HES YHE BESTEVER
We had so much fun at Bar Nine! The best dueling pianos show I’ve ever seen, great drinks, and fast service! Sarah is an amazing singer and the pianists are very talented!
It was great!Bartender are really nice and have a wonderful smile and the singers were fantastic specially the lady really funny and an amazing voice. My other significant and I had a blast for our first date.Thank you for this moment.
So much fun! The pianists were beyond talented with their range and performance quality. Will definitely be back for another round of laughs, singing and applause.
I made a reservation online, $25 per person for the “dueling pianos” show. This place gets good reviews so I was excited! It said on the website you must make a minimum purchase of 2 drinks. Okay.We show up, there’s very little people in the bar, but we were early. The man at the door didn’t check my reservation, which is fine I suppose. We sat down and ordered beer, which are mostly bottled. And we’re listening to the show, a pianist singing and a drummer with him. They were good. After the one pianist was done a second came up to do his set. His name was Matt Kelley and he was awesome! Great energy and super talented pianist and singer. The entire performances of both artists was based off of requests that the audience gives with tips of $5-20 per song request. The thing that irritated me is that you have to pay $25 to see the show, or at least I did and I feel that price wasn’t worth the show. AND THEN, the audience is also expected to pay at least $5 for each song request?? I thought my entry fee was for the show? So then why do I have to pay more to the artists for them to play music? Isn’t the bar paying them well enough? It would be different if they played music and said “if you want to give a tip for a requested song you can” but the artists were saying “okay guys, we are *only* playing your requests , you can tip us here, if we don’t get requests it’s going to be an awkward night” putting pressure on the audience which I feel doesn’t make sense given the $25 ticket. And at no point were the pianos “dueling”. Anyways, a fun experience but for more money than I was expecting. Regardless of that, Matt Kelley was awesome haha
Came to Bar 9 to celebrate a50th birthday and Sam and Alan did not disappoint. It was a blast. Drinks were delicious...so was the food... especially the fried ravioli and the truffle fries. The Phish bowl drink was very tasty. Sam did an amazing job on my Cher request and all of our other requests as well. When we are in town again we will definitely come back.
Absolutely brilliant, great music 🎶 and very entertaining and fun. Great atmosphere
Fun neighborhood spot. The live music is always on point - bonus points for dueling pianos where you can bid to change the song.Super nice bartenders who don’t judge you when you ask for whiskey neat.Say hi to Sal if he’s there in summer!
This might be my favorite place ever in NYC city! I’ve never seen a place like this that makes you so confortable and feel like home. Real big up to the bartenders, the doorman’s and all the artists that show love there. Wish we could have the same in ParisLoved it xxSarah
I love this place!!! Sara is amazing! She held it down 😤😤😤😤
Saw a brass band here. Amazing night. Great music. Very mindful. Very not demure
Very friendly and attentive staff. They keep it very fun and make sure its easy and quick to order drinks. Bar food served. Pool, skeet ball, and loads of other entertaining games (even beer pong) in the back to keep you busy. The dueling piano nights are the real draw here and these night are especially fun and crowded.
Really fun Thursday night at dueling pianos - we reserved a table and had great service all night long.
Horrible experience! We were coming in from Bergenfield, NJ and if u remember 05/29 Saturday nite it was pouring rain like all day and we got there 20m late and the manager gave away our seats and refused to remedy the situation. It was embarrassing as my family travelled internationally to experience things to do in Manhattan.
Such a fabulous night of dueling pianos at Bar9! Talent was so fun, great service and super laid back vibe! Highly recommend!
It’s a great fun filled dueling piano bar, drinks were good, we paid for better seats which were kinda worth it, piano players were excellent but I didn’t have venmo (Australian) or cash for requests
Its dueling pianos which is fun, but the space is laid out the best they could, not ideal. No real space for dancing and the drinks are expensive, but not terrible for city pricing. They do a good job for bachelorette parties, Ive hosted one there, but not somewhere Id spend my average Saturday evening
Must do experience in NYC! Broadway caliber musicians with an unlimited library of tunes. Simply a magical night, every time!
Had my 50th birthday here and everything was perfect. The staff was amazing and accomodating the food was excellent. Music was amazing. The atmosphere was perfect for everyone. My guests all had the best time. Perfect place for any age. Highly reccomend.
We had Sarah as our server. It was her first day on the job and she was AMAZING !!! Matched the vibes of the establishment and was prompt with service for how busy the place was !
Visited NYC and this was the only place we visited often ! Loved it ! Jerry was great !
Bar Nine is tons of fun, and I look forward to returning! The staff members are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, trying to accommodate each customer as well as possible. Drinks are of better-than-average quality, with a nice selection of beers and ciders on tap and top-shelf spirits. Drink sizes, actual pour sizes, and prices are largely as expected for an entertainment venue, perhaps a little better. I will point out that the Groupon redemption policy and process is a little unclear, even after the limited explanation by the server, but I did ultimately receive goods and services greater in value than the cost of the Groupon voucher. There is a free, but mandatory, coat check on performance nights, but it is a great help, not an inconvenience. One of my favorite employees in the entire place was the coat check attendant. He took a few moments to engage each patron in conversation, while not decreasing his pace or efficiency. He also kindly suggested each customer take a photo of the claim check, so that the articles could be found easily if the ticked were to become misplaced. Great idea! So simple! Even when the attendant had to walk into the bar to request a patron check a coat that was brought inside without being checked, he was polite with each customer, even when he could tell they were lying to him or trying to sweet-talk him.The dueling pianos show was a lot of fun! The pianists are enjoyable entertainers, playing well and employing just enough of the right types of patter for the crowd in attendance. This is not the best dueling piano Ive seen, in terms of musical quality, but it is one of the best overall dueling piano performances Ive attended. I would, however, note that it would be great if the drummer learned the words to more of the songs, and also if he knew the songs well enough to play more suitably for each song, instead of doing nearly everything with basic, little-changing, heavy-handed, regular rock beats. I really like the British piano players drumming, though, when he took the kit for a song.
As always, fun experience at Bar9! Service is courteous and prompt, drink prices are fair and of course the dueling pianos always do an excellent job making it a fun night for everyone singing songs we all know and love.
The bartender smiled at me like my mother had never smiled at me. nice bar with great live performances. Ill come again
Went to Bar Nine Sat night w 2 girlfriends and loved the dueling pianos. The 2 musicians were amazing. They sang the song I submitted. The drinks were fine. I would suggest to the owner they put some bucks into venue by reconfiguring space so back tables can see musicians plus put one long booth from front door to back, it would provide twice the seating. 2 more things get rid of dirty black chalk paint walls in back and clean steps going downstairs to bathrooms they are filthy and smell terrible alittle scary.
Im from Perú and have been there once. I think its the best piano bar ever. I enjoyed it a lot. I Sang out loud all night long. If you ever visited NY, dont miss it. You wll have the Night of your life! 😘
We went to join in on Drunken Shakespeare, which is once a month on Monday nights. The drinks were reasonably priced, however there was only one person to cover both the bar and tables. So... services were a little slow. We had a blast regardless!
Great place for live music. The dueling pianos are entertaining and perform till late.We ordered basic pours for drinks. Service was good.
Purchased 10 tickets to a Wednesday piano bar show for a birthday. Showed up with my party at the scheduled time only to be told the piano person was sick & would not be performing so the show was canceled. The staff working invited us in for drinks as we figured out plan b & said multiple times that a refund would be given for the tickets. As we were leaving, he gave us a phone number & instructed to contact for more info regarding refund. The next day I called the number & no one picked up. I then texted the number & did not receive a response. I emailed the email listed on the website explaining the situation & asking about a refund. Person responded trying to figure out another date for my party to come in, instead of giving a money refund. I explained that my party was from different places across the tri-state area so I would not be able to schedule a date for everyone to return in the near future & that I would like a money refund. Person agreed to a refund but did not provide any further details. I waited a few weeks to see if the money would return to my credit card but to no avail. I emailed once again asking when I would receive it but received no response this time. Sad because I would have liked to return to the establishment at some point as the atmosphere seemed fun but will not be doing so since I lost out on hundreds of dollars on my 30th birthday.
Love this place. Simply amazing live music and friendly staff.
A very chill spot and we really loved hanging out here on a Sunday night when most of the city was quite. The bartender was very sweet and offered us to get any food from outside if we like only because the kitchen was closed. We loved the vibe in the place and good selection of drinks here.
I went here for the first time on St Patty’s Day 2018.. and every weekend after till I moved away! This is a must do in Hell’s Kitchen!! The vibe at this place is always amazing! On Wednesday is ladies night, it’s a lot of fun! My favorite time to go tho is Thursday-Saturday! The staff is also really great! I’ve never had a bad time here!!
Great food, reasonable prices. Excellent entertainment. Legendary spot. Great singers. I was very surprised to see such a great show far from Broadway. If you like good live shows, this is the spot!
Sara sings beautifully and this is a great bar
This is a really fun bar where everybody sings along. We had Dueling Pianos and it was lots of fun having a beer and singing a few songs. I think you will have a great time at this place.
Great bar! Management and staff went out of there way to make the night great. Drinks were flowing. Music was great and atmosphere was awesome!
Perfect place to be happy!! Denise gave us a perfect services with smile!!!
Fun place. They have Ski ball, deer hunt, darts, and a pool table however the bar could use a makeover and a good cleaning. Ive been twice and each time there was an issue. First time the ceiling leaked above the pool table. Second it smelled terrible, like a dirty restroom. It was unbearable. Its a cool bar but in its current state I wouldnt want to return.
Maybe one of my favourite bars I’ve ever been too!this place was just unbelievable. The amount of music they knew via piano was remarkable. I will 1000% come back here when I’m back in NY!
I went there last night with my sister because the sign outside said 1/2 off apps during happy hour. The menu also clearly stated this. However, when we got the bill we were charged full price only to be informed that they changed that in June. I asked to speak with a manager, and after waiting about 10 minutes (thus putting us late for a show) a very rude guy showed up to say the same thing. He was condescending and had no respect for the fact that the restaurant face and menu had FALSE ADVERTISING.If you change the menu priced, youd better change the actual physical menus and signs you put outside.
Fun bar! Karaoke with Shane and the others was great
Slays. 10/10. Love yall. WE LOVE SARA!!!!
Great vibes!! Denise was amazing!
Fun spot in Hells Kitchen area. They have a pretty decent HH. Fun atmosphere. They have a pool table, darts, skeeball and beer pong in the back. They also have $3 taco tuesdays and unlimited wings night on wednesdays. They also do dueling piano shows here on certain nights. You usually have to pay and reserve the seats, but if you show up early and stick to the bar area, you can enjoy the show without reservations.
They had a comedy night when I went there with my Groupon for wings and beer. It was definitely a good deal with the Groupon, but the food took forever to come. Wings were not that great. It doesnt feel like a bar in New York at all. Its got a suburban feel to it. May be a four but my wings were bad. So a three.
Food, drink, and atmosphere were great. Great music by the band.
Jarrett, Nicole and Sara are unbelievable. Best service I’ve seen in the city. A+. Wish I could give 6 stars.
Pretty good music and food, dont recommend the cocktails as theyre just not up to par & taste syrupy which is why they only got 3 stars so i stuck to bottle drinks (which is my recommendations.
Denise…Amazing service
So much fun! Visiting from Oregon and loving everything about this place!
Literally the best neighborhood bar Ive ever been to. The staff is amazing from the front to the back. I havent laughed, cried, sang and felt happy at the same time since I was a child. I cant wait to go back.
Justin the bartender was great.
Went here on a monday with my groupon in hand. Sat down ( mind you there was only 4 customers in the whole bar). The waitress/ bartender greeted us the table was sticky the menu was sticky yuck! I presented her the coupon she said the draft beer was not working this is what our groupon was for and it was for 25 wings. She told us monday was all u can eat wings. We said we will just do the 25. Then someone yelled the kitchen is closed cause its 10 pm! Ok so the close at 2am on a monday what bar in Ny doesnt serve food after 10 pm? I was going to leave and use the bathroom which was downstairs it was hot as fish grease down there and the bathroom was dirty. I couldnt even use it. This was a terrible experience, despite other positive reviews.
Not happy with the watered down beer . The first pitcher was normal , then the 2nd pitcher was so watered down I felt I was drinking orange juice 🤔 The wings was good at least . But why water down your beer because I have a groupon and at least be polite to people who are using a groupon or train your staff to treat all customers nicely . I paid for the groupon and you are still getting gratuity and taxes ...so spending $68 overall counts . If there is going to be a slight to customers who use groupon, then dont advertise your business on there period.
No Air Conditioning at all. Management continued to sell drinks at full cost. Absolutely no consideration for a large amount of people who came to see someone perform. Wont go back, even if they have AC...
Just had the greatest night. Awesome show and a real NYC crowd. My server Sara made the night crazy special when she stepped away from our table, jumped on stage and blew my mind with her voice.Everyone clearly loved the show.
Excellent happy hour. Local bar, reasonable prices and great crew. Avoid the tourist and have a great time on here. Live music from 9:00pm. Go for it!
Great vibes for a night out with friends! Special thanks to Arianna!
My favorite bar in the city
We love Kacey the bartender! Music was rocking, late night spot to close it down.
Weds is Unlimited wings for $15. They came in a timely manner. They give you five at a time and I went through 3 different flavors. They do have live bands so it can get loud at times. They have games in the back such as skee ball, pool, and darts which is fun to play with some drinking buddies.
Small place with good drinks and a couple of amazing piano players. Had a blast and would definitely recommend. Will return, next time to NY.
So amazing! I love the singing competitions!
Amazing show!!!! Matt and Colin kept us singing and laughing all night and the bartenders were so fantastic!!!
So fun visiting Bar Nine in NYC, highly recommend. First time visiting a dueling piano bar, great vibe and the hosts were fantastic getting the crowd involved. PLUS bonus nugget there is a payphone on the way to the restrooms... I have no idea if it works but entertaining to see!
Best time ever. Live music great crowd very friendly staff. Different areas with extra activities like a pool table, darts and 2 arcade tables.
I have been going to this place for years and years. It has gone through so many changes and has kept up with the changing times and neighborhood. The selection is always good. So is the staff. The bathrooms are very small and some times they smell like urine but so it goes.
Sara is amazing!! we had a great time!
I have frequented Bar Nine on their musical nights and the fact that they have musicians still coming in is refreshing. I enjoyed their wings and their many wing flavors.
Great fun crowd. The staff was friendly, efficient and very attentive to our groups needs. Food was excellent.
Fantastic! Great live music, food, lots of space, pool table, seats, nice drinks, chill atmosphere. Annnd arcade machines, skee ball. Really nice place, you wont be disappointed.
Great place wt dueling pianos wt good crowd energy
Most of everything was good: the drinks, the dueling pianos, the bouncer. But the waitresses/ bartenders... God damn. If you dont want to work there, then dont. Its really not that deep.
Jessie is great!
We love Rachel!!! & Bar Nine
Loved this bar... Stopped by yesterday and I ordered the danger dog and shrimp tacos (a-m-a-z-i-n-g) and my friend got chicken quesadillas which were really good too. I am from Mexico and this is legit. I wouldnt expect to find such delicious food in bar in hells kitchen, but bingo! They have a photobooth and skeeball, I suck ai it but had funTry the micheladas (spicy) If you dont know what it is go find out :) (or google)
We chose front of house seats not really knowing what we were getting. However, we were so surprised to be right against the stage. It was a wonderful time with an amazing atmosphere. The staff was so friendly, and the music was amazing. My friend and I were so thankful we chose to try out Bar Nine during our travels. A must see in New York. Definitely recommend. If I ever find myself back in New York, I will for sure be back to Bar Nine!
Bar Nine was the worst experience I have ever had at a music venue in NYC. The music sounded cheap like a cruse ship and the staff was horrible, I don’t want to talk about the food. Stay away from this place..
Very crowded in the entrance, difficult to get a table if you arrive late, but its a nice place to play pool, darts, listen good music and drink a beer (although its kind of expensive). Good vibes.
Justin the bartender was great
Great dueling pianos!
Lovely staff and great ambiance!
Sara is the best!
Amazing live music. I recommend it!
Great food great prices…. Wish they would accept cash!! Love the fact marv mrs maisel was taped here!
Skip it .frozen pizza + struggling actors who sing well will likely make u feel depressed
This place is amazing. The dueling pianists are amazing with hit after hit and all requests from the audience. Great time and atmosphere
Went there to see an old friend play dueling pianos. It was crammed in there, especially toward the later evening hours. Wasnt that big of a deal. The show was awesome! Wait staff was busy but still got orders out. Would defiantly go back next time I am in NY!
Fun place, great music !!Highly recommend reserving a seat for the show in advance.
Great place for friends!! Great atmosphere!!
Loved the vibe. Amazing live music. Food was decent too. Will definitely go again!
Fun place to hang out. Nice people.
Amazing place
I came with friends on a Wedsnday night. They have a super talented female band playing live music and audience requests.Loved it!
Love this place
So fun
Great staff. Wonderful ambience indoors and out. Live music!!! Definitely would recommend. A go-to staple in HK!
Bar Nine was fantastic. The dueling pianos was out of this world. Service and food were good.
Best bar in New York! Just check that its Duelling pianos night, then youre all set for an amazing evening!
Dive bar with decent drink specials and food. The major plus is there are darts, a pool table, cocktail table Ms. Pac Man/Galaga and skee ball.
So much fun!
Fun place! Highly recommend it, had a great time listen to the guys on the piano and the drummer!
So impressed with this place and their staff. They were so accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend a night here.
Great show but no draft beer , only bottles :(
A great time was had by all. Went Saturday night what a great crowd and energy. Great way to celebrate my birthday with friends and family. Jarred helped make the night a great success. The piano players, servers and bartenders were excellent. We will be back!
Live music people are great. very entertaining bar. Too loud to converse
One of the best bars around! People are very friendly and the music is great!
My favorite bar in Hell’s Kitchen! Such a fun atmosphere & the drinks & food are great. It’s so fun to sing along to our favorite classics and the piano players are super talented!
Very tight quarters, and the bathrooms were very dirty and dungeony. As a female I was nervous using it. But staff was amazing.
Great
I was pretty excited to check out this spot a I love dueling pianos. Came here on a weds night with friends. The bar wasn’t too crowded but still took a while for me to be seated. We got sat and started enjoying the music. It’s a very dive bar vibe which I didn’t mind but as we got through the night I tipped for two songs. None of my songs was ever acknowledged or even played. Guess they just keep the tip even if they don’t play your song. The bar was pretty empty so idk why they never got to it. Looks like they only prioritize people that tip $20 yet I saw a gentleman go up and tip pretty well too yet His song also never came on, he even went back up to ask but they never played his song either. $20 per song seems pretty over priced. Even tipping $10 a song and not being addressed felt like I got ripped off. Also, I had 4 Jameson drinks and they felt pretty watered down to me. Overall the talent of the singers, drummer and sax were good but not the traditional dueling piano experience I’m use to.
Bar Nine is SO Fun!!! The beer is is great, all you can eat wings (the wings are INSANE). This bar is not a must visit in Hells Kitchen, it is a MUST visit in all of NYC.I am a local. Live nearby and can tell you, you will have fun, eat great food and drink great beer. Come here and hang with m
Nice bar good wings and cold beer. The barkeep Ashley was super nice
So much talent here!
Unbelievable experience. Exactly what I was looking for. If you want good Live Music. Come here. The three performers entertained the whole night and they were incredible.
